Success stories: How did you do it?

I am just starting after failing to cut down or quit myself in a year of trying. Just got some tablets from the doctors. 3 days dry.
I am blessed with love joy and sobriety.

Success stories: How did you do it?

All the best Raven Joy, I struggled with trying to stop drinking altogether and trying to cut down for over a year and then realised that I just can't stop at one so what is the point of having one at all. It has now been 7 months since my last drink and I embrace every day and thank my lucky stars that I am sober, feel closer to my children than ever before and find myself experiencing all sorts of 'firsts'.....first time camping whilst sober, first party that I have been to, first birthday celebration sober...the list is endless. It is a tough journey but you sound comitted. Take care,
      Dora

Great for you Dora. This is so heartwarming to read this. It is always and may always be one day at a time - but what wonderful days they are!!!

I know it must have been so hard for you, but I am so happy for you.
Rest in Peace, Bear. We miss you.

Dora, congratulations! Isn't it amazing how our relationships can improve so much when AL is out of the picture. Thank you for sharing your story of hope and inspiration! Raven.joy, take heart. This is far from easy but miracles are happening here every day. It will happen for you too if you work it.
