Once a drunk, Always a drunk

I am just browsing around the boards here...

CS04...I hope you don't go to any authoritative or counseling body about your problem. The downside is too risk, I think.

Mags story & others make me feel very sad. I HATE these labels & societal stigmas. I so wish we coudl start a movement to undo these labels & get new ones.

Maybe it is human nature to label. I do not know! But drunk & alcoholic have to go!!!! A horrible image has been painted in our minds in association with those words..and it not a truthful picture. The worst one is "once a drunk always a drunk." And, it is possible that person may not even be an alcoholic!, which I probably am who drinks every day. It is all ridiculous. A new paradigm / frame work is needed.

I admire so greatly peeps like Mags who say.."ya, ok. I'll deal with your stupid label."
