    Forgetting past failures

Living today "you never do anything right"
Some of us carry this accusation deep in our minds, perhaps from childhood.
We remember past mistakes & failures, sometimes dredging them up again
    when new failures occur.
When we do this,we unduly burden ourselfs with a past that should be
    released & forgotten.
The result of past mistakes was a feeling of inadequacy and helplessness
    that prolonged our sickness.
In those troubled days,we were trying to solve our problems in ways that
actually made the problems worse,on that path, there was no hope of a real
    solution.
Today our failure & mistakes are but signs that we are still human and still
fall short of perfection.but now we can use failure to good advantage and
even learn from it,our best progress will come when we separate ourselfs
from the mistakes and failures of the past.

        Mario,

I love your posts, too. Thank you so much for being here and sharing.

Here is a linke to today's Daily Reflection. The message is very similar.

Your post and this meditation are a great help to me today. I live with a lot of shame and guilt over my actions, especially while drinking, but also in order to have a drink. I have hurt many loved ones and am amazed they still love me.

However, my daughter keeps reminding me that shame and guilt will just lead us back to drinking. She is right.

We must shed it and move on to living right.

        I hope this link works.

        Love,
