        Thanks to each one of you for taking time to read my post and sending your best wishes.
        hippie! when I was wrote about contemporaries, it is you - and other wonderful people like Roger, time, IAD, captn, DG, Cindi, flying - that I had in mind. Each of you had nice words for me during my recovery days. This feeling of a shared community is the strength of mwo.
        coalfire! As the days and years roll on, it is getting easier to see the lie I was living during my drinking days; the roads not taken, the crucial moments frittered away.

                Doubter thank you so much for this thread, I don't know you but I really appreciate reading how people further on in their journey are getting along. Your life now seems to be like chalk and cheese compared to the awful place you found yoursef in 3 years ago. It's a tremendous achievement and you should be very, very proud of yourself.

                Much respect,

                  Hi doubter! Just now saw your post!

                  :yougo::yougo:CONGRATULATIONS ON THREE YEARS SOBER!!!:yougo::yougo:

                  I'm so happy for you! Among the things you mentioned helpful, I too have found a lot of peace is doing volunteer work. I would be curious what you are doing in that regard if you care to share.

                  I hope you will continue to come back and post once in awhile. I know I take inspiration from it and I'm very sure others do too. If you can do it, and all these other people can do it, maybe I can too.

                    That was inspirational doubter! Guess you are right that when any one looks back at his drunken days after 3 years of soberity it is a mixed feeling of how happy you are and regret of throwing down those years in the gutter.
