I get those thoughts pretty often...I think "If I skip the Antabuse today I can drink in 4 days"...seriously that's messed up...don't even know what brings it on...old habits die hard I guess.

I had a dream about my doggie last night (the one I put down in July)...I miss that girl! She was the dog version of me...we were totally on the same wavelength. We could look at each other and communicate My new Jack boy is awesome though...love him to death! And of course my daughters chihuahua Lucy (short for LUCIFER) is still demonic. LOL

Wow - 2 days until your anniversary - awesome, I am very happy for you!

K9, don't know if you saw the picture I put on Facebook this week.
My golden retriever Ranger passed away 9 years ago this summer at the ripe old age of 13 1/2!
I've really missed him over the years, he was a true friend. This week a piece of junk mail arrived at the house addressed to Ranger! How freaky is that??

I imagine Alaska is quite a trip. Always wanted to go.

K9 and Lav, last summer we had to put down our 2 old dogs... I haven't been able to bring myself to get another. They were such good friends. It is strange though, since we haven't had any dogs, the ground hog and fox population has exploded.

Sam, you should get a Chihuahua. Mine is HIGH MAINTENANCE. I never imagined 10 pounds could make such a difference in 2 peoples' lives! We love her, tho....warts and all!
Sun, I went to Alaska on a company trip in July one year and I froze the whole time! And it rained! It was July, too! I threw a junky wool shirt in my suitcase as I was closing it and I wore that darn thing every day! Brrrrr! They are the nicest people I've ever met!

Sam, I have a 100 lb Piggy Swissy who takes care of the ground hogs around here :H :H
Totally gross but I've seen her snag one for a snack :H
My smaller dogs takes care of the faster moving varmits ~ especially the bunny rabbits!
I'd be happy to send this pair of helpers to you for a few days

Great to see some new faces!! I worked this morning, but now my mind is clear and I can play the rest of today! Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday!

I imagine tomorrow will be a busy time in the nest. I am so sad to see so many that have taken a tumble of late. I wish there were a way to tell everyone, if you just stay the course, these thoughts go away....the pull just isn't there anymore. I just hate to see it....the trouble is that this takes time and we are an impatient and instant gratification society. Hang on everyone!! Have a happy day! Byrdie

You're probably right, Byrdie. Tomorrow may be a big day in the nest. I admire your dedication. I have noticed in the past that it seems that at times, a number of people with fairly solid sobriety have fallen off the wagon around the same time. I have wondered about that. There but for the grace, however......

I'm ready to let the tubing thing go, Lav. Will make the story really short here. Rode some rapids with my tube in my hand rather than under my butt. Cuts and scrapes--thank God for life preservers. The End....... The fascinating full story is in monthly abs yesterday....

I have tortured myself today by not doing my work early but doing it in little drips and drops, so I still have more to do. Dumb....but oh well.....it's Labor Day right? So I'm sort of laboring. Duh.

Hi all...

YahYah...it does seem like a lot are struggling right now...me included. When I hit my 1 year, middle of August, I thought I'd feel 11 x's happier and more content than when I hit my first 30 days. Didn't happen. Not that I'm thinking of drinking just expected to feel differently, elated, on top of the world, etc. Maybe it's because after 100 days AF we are now Living Sober and I still have a lot of learning to do on that subject. Feeling a little lonely at the moment and it doesn't appear anyone's on the daily thread so thought I'd pop in here. Good to see so many friendly faces here....PPQP

I was feeling off last week and didn't really know where to post about it. It seems like this is probably a good place since everyone here has at least 100 days of experience being AF.

So what is up with you? -- and by the way - over a year sounds fabulous to me! Congratulations on that.
