Thanks Byrdie
I appreciate your posts as well, your accomplishment of 1000 days is really something to give yourself some serious high 5's!
It has been a beautiful fall weekend and spent most of it outside. Lav, this is great weather to get stuff done.
Mick, how's the finger(s)?
waves to everyone

Anyone notice how the Mods thread is more of a hangover comparison discussion?

I read their threads because I am nosy, and I'd love to see a successful moderator someday...but so far I have not.
I also read their threads because it pisses them off. Ok, so that's the immature side of me...but hey, I'm OK with it. HA:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Some of the mod threads were tantalizing with the promise of becoming "normal". It didn't take long though, before I realized they were giving me false hope and undermining what I knew I had to do.
So, I quit reading them. I just mentioned in the nest that so many forces are pushing us towards drinking, I need everything I read or post here to be pushing the other way! I'm so glad you guys are here! xx- NS

I agree NS!
I did all my 'modding' before I found MWO - always an epic fail
I don't spend any time reading the Mods threads either. Like you I just want to keep moving forward in AF-land. It's safer here & I don't fall down & make an ass of myself or get hurt :H
Did you all see the picture I found on Facebook today? I so want a pair:
AF since 03/26/09
NF since 05/19/09
Success comes one day at a time

Lav
great Halloween costume!
I thought of moderating but I think the drugs and their side effects scared me away. As a teenager, I did plenty of drugs and now really don't like the idea. (I know that they do help lots of folks so I don't mean to be judgmental.) So I didn't try. I know that really and truly I can't drink without it becoming a full blown event of hell. And I'm glad I quit, so very glad.Liberated 5/11/2013

Mick long time no see!
K9 our birthdays are a day apart! Best wishes fellow Libra!
Hey there to all you abstainers!
Before I quit I read about moderating, and it tried it on my own. If I could have moderated I wouldn't have come here in the first place. Simple really.Newbies Nest

I drank pretty moderately for a 2-3 years, posting frequently under the mods section. But my life IS better without alcohol, so now I don't drink at all. I do remember people posting about drinking more than they planned, and how they didn't feel as good as on the days they didn't drink. The judgemental comments posted by non-drinkers were and are very irritating to me because it is disrespectful. The people who post there are improving there lives the best way they can right now. I will always respect and support them for that.My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Hi, Sunbeam
Nice to see you. You have a better perspective than most of us because you've lived in both worlds.
It seems to me there shouldn't be too much conflict on MWO (although I realize there occasionally is). Everyone has a choice about which threads they do or do not read and/or post in. It is a shame when feelings are hurt and people leave unnecessarily because of a war of words that could so easily be avoided.
I try to think about whether each of my posts is a positive contribution before I submit it. I'm sure I don't meet this goal all of the time but pausing and re-reading my words has stopped me from releasing what is just an emotional, knee-jerk, unhelpful reaction to something that someone has said.
Have a great day, everyone, NS

Lav - Those chicken shoes are too funny! I think you should wear them every day! Can I borrow them to wear to my interview tomorrow?
I'm sorry I brought up the Mods...I probably shouldn't read them either. At least I don't comment in there anymore, I learned that lesson the hard way.
Anywhooooo...hope y'all are having a great day!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

I'm glad you brought it up K9! I think we need to have discussions about how those of us who are pretty comfortable with the AF life operate around here. The discussion yesterday in the daily thread also was very useful.
I know I need to stay involved but sometimes don't feel like I have much to ask or offer and am not even sure what should be posted in various threads.
