Sherman Alexie (aforementioned author) tweeted this yesterday: "Ordered 3 pizzas in 3 days but from different places in order to camouflage my shame."

Made me laugh out loud, as many of us have stories of going to different liquor stores to hide the amount we were buying.

Anyway - happy Sunday.

I never thought of pizza as "embarrassing" but I suppose the psychology is the same. I wish I knew a clerk well enough to ask whether they can easily spot what is going on with people buying booze. I bet they can. I can see it in others now that I'm looking up from my cart.

Have you listened to any of Sherman Alexie's podcasts, Pav (http://www.infiniteguest.org/tiny-sense/)? I'm enjoying them.

I'm going to Ghana this summer with a group from church. It is hot, on the equator. They frequently drink low alcohol beer when water isn't available. Sigh. I'm going, I'll figure this out, just another hurdle to jump.

NS - I am overwhelmed by the number of great podcasts available these days. I'll try to check his out. Are you listening to Serial? It is SO GREAT. Start with episode 1, you'll binge to the end (episode 7 comes out on Thursday).

Sometimes it does get a little quiet around the threads Pav but it usually doesn't last too long

See the Light and Guitarista, welcome and congrats on this achievement. Guitarista, we are slow learners with our ancient join dates, but at least we do learn.

Lav, the heat in Ghana I think is no worse than Florida. I am not a fan of hot weather, I prefer spring and fall over summer. But I will tough it out for the week or so of our stay, and my life will be forever changed.

Sunbeam, I'm at the point in life where even the heat & humidity of Florida is too much for me. I definitely enjoy cooler weather these days. My friend went to Liberia two years ago with her church group (before Ebola showed up there). She would love nothing more than to go on a similar mission.
