    October Mod Squad

Well, went back to modding already Monday night. Rec'd a call in afternoon, shirttail relatives in town, wanted to get together for drinks/dinner. We met them and ended up having a couple glasses of wine. Nice surprise and fun night! And yes, it would have been been fun w/o alcohol.

Lila - Trazodone is a prescription drug, right? Again, except for lack of sleep, I was starting to feel great with AL gone. Even just the couple gl of wine made me feel more tired yest. Out of funk?

Dave - like Lila, rarely drink hard liquor.

yes, it is prescription, but if you don't need it, that's best. i bet a lot of people want to visit you in Florida! that sounded so precious, seeing dolphins swimming.
i am feeling better, thanks. i get into my moods...

        hi all
i've been so busy that i have only been reading the posts but have not had a chance to post anything myself. things are ok. it's been pretty social around here so i've had more AL days lately than AF ones but still doing ok. I've been managing at least 2 days AF a week(average 3)and i've been keeping it to 2 drinks, except on nights where it's a party or something, then I've kept it at 3 max.

I have found that 3 drinks is not that hard to stop at, even when at a party. my weakness is a couple of glasses of wine at home. good tv and glass of wine. trying to make a point though to really be AWARE on AF nights and say to myself, THIS feels good too. AF evenings can be as rewarding as AL evenings.

I'm going to have a drink again tonight(halloween party), which will be 5 nights in a row. I don't really like that at all. It's funny, because, for years, i had 365 nights in a row!!
        what a difference.

LGL, that sounds good. I like the being aware idea. For me, there is a habit thing, so being mindful is a good suggestion.
well, today is Halloween! Yesterday, we carved pumpkins, today I will bake the pumpkin seeds. I have been winterizing the house.
is anyone exercising? I have not been, have to get motivated!

Whew!! Whirlwiind since last Wed, really. Company arrived Thur am; left last night. We played golf on Thur (9 holes), Friday DD, SIL and I walked 2.5 miles with intention of playing 9 again, got rain instead. Rained hard all night long Friday and 8K race started at 7:30a. Rain stopped approx 7:00a. How lucky was that! DH & DD ran 8K, dd took 3rd in age group & got herself a trophy, SIL & I walked 2 miles. Sunday we played 18, cart path only because of wet conditions so got over 12K steps in just playing golf. More AL than normal, but only Sat nite.

Today - Firm V.1 (wts and aerobics), later will do my 4 mile run/walk. It's overcast but sun is promised, just in time for trick & treaters.

LGL - it's all relative, right? You're doing much, much better!
Lila & LGL- a lot to be said for the 'awareness'. fyi low 70's & humid here, can you believe that's starting to feel cold to me???
