    HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I over did the lasagna and garlic bread just a bit last night at my parents but managed to stay clear of the pie, the scotch and the beer so for that I am grateful and just did a little extra cardio at the gym this morning to burn off the extra dinner.

D- I love the saying agree to disagree.... It is a rare occasion that a debate suceeds in leading your opponent to your side of the views.

Welcome all new commer's and dropper inner's glad to have you all.

Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Oh, not sure how many of you know but we had to put our family dog down of 12 years a few months back and today we may go check out this new dog that the shelter e-mailed me about she is 1.5yr old weimaraner....... I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited I hope she is still there when we get there tonight and that she feels like a good fit for us, I really miss a dog around the house.
    Hi V

Nice to me another dog lover - I hope she is still there and she is a 'good fit' for you!

We have 3 dogs - when my husband and I met he had one called Tizer and I had one called Thai (it had to be fate eh...) then we got a puppy together.

We also have parrots and a tortoise that I have had since I was four...

It is so sad when you loose a dog (or any animal) I have had that experience a few times. They are part of the family and leave such a gapeing hole. Each one is an individual and brings their own love...

Best of luck with her - have you thought of a potential name yet?

Morning Chauka, or afternoon as it may be where you are. Very insightful post and I agree with all said.

V, just wanted to say I'm excited too for you!!! I adore Weimeraners! They are so sweet and absolutely gorgeous. I do remember you telling us about your (late) dog, and I hope this one is a good fit for your family too. I made my first batch of homemade dog biscuits last night, lol. My dogs loved them, but I think I need a bit more practice at baking them. About 1/3 stuck to the pan and were impossible to remove.

Again, have a great day everyone!

Chaaku, good afternoon (?) and welcome!!
V--I was thinking about you last night. The "Annies Gourmet" organic skillet meals (I really like the beef stroganoff and cheesey mac, both are easily made with ground turkey, pork or beef) are a perfect and easy meal for two, we usually have a good lunch portion for one as leftovers. Not the healthiest (or low fat) but if you serve veggies and/or salad, it's a great meal!
LG--hope you're in better spirits now that things seem back to "normal" Did the new DeMille come out yet? I'll have to get it on my kindle!
FF--hope you're feeling better. I had my head in the sand on the medical issues reference, sorry. But nobody should have what they post in confidence and good faith turned around against them. Sorry you had to be the brunt of that, especially since you've mostly avoided the tit-for-tat...

I hope everyone is having a great hump day. I have to write a couple of emails that I've been putting off too long...will check back later.

Thanks D! I did just get back on the healthy eating and back to Gym every morning... I think after my hubby completed that Tough Mudder Race and agreed to start having AF days during the week and continuing his exercising it motivated me.... O that and I got on the scale Sunday night and nearly fell over!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO for now very strict low calorie diet and tons of cardio at Gym every morning till I shed some of these pounds :P But I will keep it in my dinner arsenal... Thanks D

Hi Scottish Lass. I'm glad you are posting here. Welcome...sit back and get comfortable. We are a laid back group (in our natural state:H).

It's getting on 3 pm here and I'm so tired. I didn't sleep well last night and woke up too early. Plus somehow a blood vessel burst in my left eye and I look like a demon.:H:H It hurts too. I'm ready to go home and relax...long hot shower to ease some of this tension.

Hope everyone is having a nice day. The weather is absolutely PERFECT here today...great golf weather, lol.

Wahoo Lass welcome to the party, I have seen you around but tell us a bit about yourself when you can.

LG sorry but I actually LOL at you and your demon eye. hope you get to play your evening out exactly how you plan and relax.... weather here is absolutely perfect as well!

I am sooooooooooo busy at work these days I love it, I can not focus to well though because I just can not wait until 6pm when hubby gets off and we can go see if the pup we want is still waiting for us at the shelter.

Only 2pm here so I will get back to work and the time will fly.

Yes, now I can actually give someone the "evil eye". Hahahaha! Bf is in the kitchen cooking! I said, I'm not cooking tonight, no way no how...I hope I don't regret it, lol. He's got 10 pieces of chicken all in the same frying pan; after I told him he had too many he put three more pieces in it. There's flour all over the counter tops and on the floor, I can hear oil sizzling like a thunderstorm right now. If you don't hear from me after this post, you'll know why.

Been trying to relax a bit (minus cringing over the "cooking" going on)...have a new book to review that I haven't started yet. Might tackle that later before bed. Hope everyone is having a great day or night.

Lg- I am soo laughing but only cuz I can totally relate.... The mess the doing exactly opposite of your advice the idea that deciding not too cook and instead let him cook can be more stressful than if u cooked yourself hope u survive and it is yummy.

I'm very sad I called shelter and the pup was just adopted,,... Happy for her but sad for us.... I really had my hopes up of filling the void in our home

LOL, I guess it turned out alright. It looked ok. He and the animals ate it. I had cream cheese pancakes. Yummo.

V, have you taken the test Eve posted on "Can You Moderate"? I finally took it just now and was amazed at how different my score is than it would have been 8 months ago. In fact, if I didn't have to include all twelve months and could only speak for the past 8 (since I've been a member of MWO), my score would be 7. I hope I can get it even lower as time passes.

Like I said Hubby and I can still get to that silent treatment point now and then but I always hate how I feel when that is going on.... I cant focus at work, I'm not in a good mood, I dread going home and playing the silent game, I would much rather eat crow and be happy then deal with all the side affects of that SILLY nonproductive game

How's the tapering going, you still shooting for an AF day and maybe a few more this month?
For sure, you hit nail right on the head. It's a relief when we get past the silliness, pride and all that.

Wow, it's the 11th already. I'm not really feeling up to tackling AF at the moment, but harm reduction will do for now...I'm not too worried about going off the deep end, eventhough my accountant just passed away, that caused me a bit of a jolt, he's my age for heaven's sake, just so sad, he's still got kids in college like me. He was working on helping me tie up some loose ends to keep the IRS from coming after me (eventually-they're not knocking on my door but I don't want to wait for them), but his assistant found the records and it looks like we'll get back on track to wrapping a couple of bad years from the lost decade.

I really appreciate that you cared to ask, :thanks:. That means more than a lot of people might imagine.

Hi DG, good to hear from you, I'm sticking to mod topics for the time being.

Eve, You're new thread sounds intriguing, I'll take a look when I can come up for air again.

Hey D, good to see you on the boards, I was wondering how you're holding up.

Sorry to hear about the pup, V. I hope you find an even more lovable one soon!

                            Hi gang,
V-I'm sorry about the pup too but you will find the one you're meant to have. So many animals need homes.

LG, Tell me about your book review and what that means in your work world. Do you do a write up? BTW, I think I will retake the test I posted as I may not have answered for the last 12 months but was possibly answering with the thinking of "back in the day...this happened." I will have to look at it again as your numbers changed when you re-examined it. It is a great little test though.

HD, Haven't had a chance to really chat too much. We were out of the country for a while and had little access to a computer or little time with all of the sightseeing. Sometimes I miss out on the fun goings on that the modders post about as I'm too busy but everyone is busy these days so I know what you mean about coming up for air.

Wow, we have a really great group of people right now. I am enjoying the people lurking who are in limbo but know they can post here freely without being judged no matter what route they decide to go. I love it also when AFers with good wisdom pay us a visit and share a positive word here and there. I miss Guitarista and some of the other strong and kind AFers who offer valuable input on certain subjects yet have the tact and skill not to offend. We can all learn so much from each other. Personally I have posted things on AF boards with answering a question (for example) of "What do I say when someone asks me if I want a drink as I don't want to say I'm an alcoholic". So my advice would be, "I'll just have a diet coke or seltzer and lime for now. I love that one as people don't keep following up to see when you want to start drinking! Just wanted to share an example of how a modder can share wisdom on an AF site without stepping on toes and appreciate it when they come here and share words of wisdom with us.

Well night all! *see* you soon.

Hello fromm a decidedly chilly and overcast UK....

I am envious of those of you in sunnier climes (seems to be most of you). We have had the most awful summer here with record rain fall. I am off to Santorini (one of the Greek islands on the 22nd for a weeks respite where it should be at least 10 degrees warmer and sunny! I hope I can maintain abstainence most of the time.....

V - sorry to hear that the pup had already gone, but as Eve says - there is another one with your name on it...

LG - why is it that when men cook they always make such a mess of the kitchen? And in our house his concoctions offen end up in the dogs bowls too he he...

Farfallap - thanks for your reply on the 'why I will not drink today' thread. LG's food plan could well help, but I could also follw the rest of your examples and get of my butt and join a gym!

Hi Scottish Lass - I dropped in here a few days before you, having been a 'lurker' before too - they seemed such a nice bunch eh..

I hope you are all having a great day wherever you are in this beautiful World
