De-stress drinker me. And middle aged woman so I fit that slot very neatly. Stupid thing is, I probably have the least stressful life of anyone I know now - I've just got into the habit of stopping my brain working at the end of the day by opening a bottle.

I think I have been different ones at different times - hedonistic & anxiety when I started drinking, now boredom~%~%~%~ :new:

interesting read. i am the typical d-stress drinker, or was. (before).
now i just do it once in awhile to avoid the stress of complete abstinence.
never was a binge drinker, today i could never consume what i had in past years!!!! :goodjob:
truly i learned much about myself being sober as long as i went.

I am so defintely the depressed drinker seeking comfort, safety, and security. I've thought a lot about this thread in the last couple of weeks. In order not to relapse I need to find another source of comfort, safety, and security, but can't figure out how.
