... a little late to the conversation
... I was going to say late to the "party" but chose not to... wow, Ariel was it you that said to "make a decision rather than have a reaction" great way to approach any problem...
Thru too much ... I have been thru a divorce and it is not fun... I left a man that could not be honest with his substance abuse issues and the sad part is his family (serious enmeshment issues) would not acknowledge that there was a problem. He had started drinking at a very young age and I am a firm believer that it stunted his emotional development. He was a kind soul but I am certain now, 5 years later, that his parents are still his caretakers.
I believe that you are taking the right approach by seeing a counselor and posting to this site. My question is -- this new person in your life ... is she an escape for you? Or, by being 6 weeks sober do you see life through a different lens?
