Satori- I think your wife and I could do some damage shopping for handbags. I do love a handbag like nobody's business. My hubby put me on shoes and handbag arrest last fall. Like who doesn"t need a new pair of black shoes??????

Buffy- My DH likes massages too. Glad you are going to do some things you enjoy. Way to go.

Vino- hope your storm blew on by and you had a good evening.

Hannah- I am glad you are doing well despite the sad situation. I am sorry. Hang in there!!!!

Music man- You now have me missing Whole Foods desperately. I now live at elast an hour or more away from one. Boo Hoo! I also miss Trader Joes but now I don't need that cheap wine anymore!!!!!!!

Hi All, it seems and age since I managed to get here, so belatedly DG has my vote of confidence too - so where are you taking it girl?? Wherever you go, we'll follow! I'm thinking maybe a weekly start might make it more accessible on a long-term basis? "Booze Busters Weekly"! - Seriously - I'll just keep following wherever everyone else is!

Hi everyone,
Today is day 4 for me without beer and over 2 weeks without cigs. I didn't use chantix to give up cigs 'cause I'd forgotten about it but I talked to an old friend 2 days ago that smoked like a fien and hasn't had a cigarette in 3 months thanks to chantix. She said it was easy using chantix. I couldn't believe it, she would have been the last person I would have thought could have quit. She said, "It makes you not want a cigarette and they taste awful".
There really are alot of beer comercials on TV. I was watching King of the Hill last night ( I'm embarrassed to say) and when Hank and his friends were all standing in the alley having a beer I thought I was gonna' die. I managed to eat lunch with a friend today at a nice restaurant and I had an ice tea intead of beer and I haven't done that in a loooooooooon time.
DoggyGirl gets my belated vote also and MusicMan you are making me hungry!
Magic, thanks for the feedback...3 teenagers...I don't know how you do it...I am in awe.

This is the big 12, one even dozen, days AF for me. For the most part not too hard for me, except I am very tired, but that could have to do with other things. Thanks for all your support in that end too.

DG - Day 21!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!!! Sorry, my mom raised me to think that it's just not nice to call you Alpha Bitch, so we have to come up with something else. (Crazy cainine?)
Satori - day 13, baker's dozen!! Yahoo! I love your avator, by the way - is that really you behind the fluffy white hair? And never question a women's need to shop, it's genetic.
Vinophile - You may have stumbled, but you haven't fallen. Good for you.
Almost Famous - What the heck is Fuze Slenderize? Sounds interesting.
Buffy - How's the gold tournament at the winery going? Two of my favorite things, only one of which I can still do (and no, it's not the wine, although some folks would say it's not the golf either).
Pinkie - Congrats on day 19!

Morning folks. (well it is here!)

Well - happy to report another AF day under the belt - today is day 14 for me - hasn't been too bad really, altho' I still get the odd twinge of craving.
No worries tho' - they are manageable -and I'm hoping even they will start to fade after a while!

Tomorrow is half way to my initial target of 30 days - I can't believe it really! :wow:

Well done to all on the successes to date - we sure are on a roll here!

I'm not going to try to say Hi to everyone coz there are too many of us now - I think a BoozeBeast Busters Weekly thread might be a good idea too as I am losing track of who is here now!

Hi everyone!!! Well I've lost total track of your thread now - its's so long!!!! Well guys, I've got my act together and I'm gonna crack this thing. For myself yes, but most of all for my Dad. I'm probably gonna stay put on the newbies thread most days but hope you don't mind if I pop over and say hello now and again. I just want to say, be careful when you get to 30 days - that was my downfall, I got cocky and thought "I can do it, I can drink normally now". I mean to say, whats normal for us guys!!! Hi everyone!! To the degree I can figure out the votes, it seems the majority are interested in maybe a weekly Booze Busters thread so it's not quite so long. But of COURSE we can try to set a new record for the longest thread evah in one week.

So...I'm off to start a new one. Maybe we'll refresh it on Monday's going forward. So rather than reply here - look for the NEW Booze Busters thread and we can wave hi and congratulate everyone and provide updates there. Hope this is OK with all!

Good morning my AF friends!

Today is my day 21, yep...3 freaking weeks and not a drop! Thanks to all, too many to list, for your support, guidence, advice and stories/posts.

Doggy, I think we would all agree, a huge thanks to you for your continued enthusasim and humor!

My favorite part of being AF is that every morning I remember what I did and said the night before. It seems like a lifetime since I could do that and it feels great!

This morning I am powered up with motivaiton, V-8 and All in One and supps and I think I hear my bike calling...."hey fat @$$, come ride me!"

So, off I go..have a great day no matter if it is your 1st or your 31st!

Where's our Music Man? Does he think he can get off easy and pass the reins to DoggyGirl? Buffy can you sniff him out? MM has not logged in since 7/30 and that's his last DrinkTracker post. His last post here said he was having a hard time not drinking because everyone around him was drinking.

Suggestion: PM the heck out of him showing you support! Send emails galore!

Posted on this thread when it started, only to realize that I wasn`t quite ready to quit at that point.

Seriously thought I would go nuts on my 1st AF night.......silly me!!!!.........didn`t go nuts after all........Sat is my 6th AF night!!!! LOL
