    Good Morning Vieeeeetnammmmm,

Ha, ha, ha, sorry. I had to do that. Just because ... I sit here, grin ... It's hazy around here. Yesterday the monsoon was flushing us out. The weather's been really funny this year (in an non-funny way). 32 Celsius. And pretty polluted here in Hanoi, both by the noise of 6 million people on motorbikes and the dust and emission of the bikes ...

Anyhoo, like Det, I've been a good boy on the AF side. 49 days, only 2 minor slips. So, quite pleased with myself. Had my liver function test back, as good as new ... Lost my tummy, yahoo. So, next goal, working out! I'm not into exercising, but I have to get into it, my doc says, because of stress and anxiety attacks. And the good endorphins production ...

Anyway, if he says so ...

Oh, by the way, my newest addiction, is the American Office Series! I'm watching it until my eyes go sore. We get it here on black market DVD, grin ... Pretty neat ...

    Catch ya guys,
    Paddy

Hi Paddy and Macks! Day 31 here.

Paddy, huge congrats on being a good boy!! And also on a very good liver test. I'm afraid of a liver test. I will get one not TOO far down the road I'm sure..but hoping for some healing first. Hanoi sounds unpleasant - at least the way you describe it this morning! It's hard to think about pollution and the noice of 6 million motor bikes before the sun is up!

Congratulations on Day 5 Macks!! Best wishes to you both in your quest to find your abs. Satori found one, and I believe I have at least two from the "feel" of things after exercise. But no sightings as of yet.

I'm glad it's Friday - how 'bout everyone else?

      Happy AF day to all!

Just a quickie here everyone. I've got to get ready for work and then straight from there, I leave for NY.

I'll be able to get on this weekend. Boy, do I need some R & R though.

Paddy, I was thinking about you hearing about all the monsoons in Vietnam--glad you're okay.

Hi, Macks and DG! Good for both of you on your AF days!

Hugs, and catch you all later!

Thank dog it's fridaaaaay. Yeah ABlanders!

Paddy that's great news. the trick with exercise is finding something you really enjoy. I love jiu jitsu but I'm covered in bruises again. Dx looks at that and gets concerned sometimes and I don't blame her...I might have to do something more mellow here some day.

I make a protein/fruit smoothies for Dx and I most mornings and yesterdays came out pretty strange....I accidentally dumped frozen peas instead of frozen strawberries into it!!!! blick! well, it tasted odd but I'm sure it was healthy.

          visualize "whirled peas"

Macks, yer doing super! be extra strong for the weekend...we CAN and WILL do it.

top of the world for the rest of ya's and all to come. Kathy get some rest!

Hi all Day 4 for me, am doing supps and all things to remain CALM.

Paddy- congrats on the tests and I hope you find exercise you enjoy- I have yet to do so, when you figure it out lemme know! :H

Macks- still a day ahead of me which is good news for both of us right?

Doggy- congrats on Day 31-that is just fabulous- I can't wait to get to a month.

Kathy- what are you doing in NY? Are you going into Manhattan?

D- if she drank that shake she must really love you a lot.

Accountable- Day 10- so great- I am the little guy here. Trying very hard and sweating every night and sleeping very badly- terrible dreams when I actually sleep, and when awake for HOURS having yucky thoughts about mean things I'd like to say to certain family members!! I cannot wait to sleep through the night.
Sunny days, sweeping the, clouds away. On my way, to where the air is sweeeet!!! Can you tell me how to get, how to get to......LOL

Hi - just checking in. It is 100 degrees here today and it feels like 115!
Everyone is doing so well... feels pretty good huh?

I'm home this weekend and then back down to pack at my mom's and stepdad's next weekend. I'm so looking forward to them being here and the move being over.

I read Neil's post in long term abs about going on Atkins and I think I may try that again too. I have been eating like crazy and my sugar intake is still higher than it should be.

                  Anyone here done Atkins?

                      Hi everyone...
Spent the day shopping in town with dh.....No movie but we had a nice lunch.
It is 106 here today....yuck! I thought that was a record but they said it's been that before... so there goes that "warming thing"! Way back when I was a baby, we didn't have air conditioners!! How did we survive?
We bought ceiling fans that I'm sure will cause a divorce to install!:H
Thanks Paddy for the thoughts on the "son" leaving yet again...It just "sucks"....no other way to put it......He IS tuned into God's purpose in his life...I just would like for it to not hurt mama so much... Mama heart here!
I hope you all have a good weekend......
                      Kathy have fun in NY!

                            Lisa,
I am going to start South beach after I am 2 weeks AF. I am just too hungry right now. I don't like Atkins. Too much red meat and fat. I mean the guy died of a heart attack didn't he?

South Beach focuses on lean meats, fish, and whole grain carbs, low fat cheeses, yogurts. And if you are an egg fan this is your diet. I've done it in the past and lost a ton of weight. The first two weeks are rough, no carbs at all, but then it's gets slowly reintroduced and you can have wheat breads, pasta, etc...Lots of veggies and fruits. It also stresses eating lots of little snacks throughout the day, like nuts, cheese, etc. All healthy but filling, and in the Mediterranean spirit, which is why most Europeans are thin. They eat whatever they want but in moderation and also eat little bits throughout the day which Americans don't always have time to do. I will have to force myself to get into that habit. It's good for your metabolism.

Atkins is so anticarb that I think it may be anti fruit which is bad for you. I'd rather have a burger on whole grain bun with low fat cheese and sweet potato fries then on a plate with a fried egg on top of it and bacon on the side. I know, a bit of an exaggeration but not really!

Belle, I feel so badly for you, I don't know what i would do if in your position, stay strong as you always do. And stay cool too. It's 60 degrees in NY right now and I have no idea why!
Sunny days, sweeping the, clouds away. On my way, to where the air is sweeeet!!! Can you tell me how to get, how to get to......LOL

Starlight - Congrats on day 12!
Happy - Day 4! Hang in there, it will get easier, hopefully soon you can sleep through the night . I sure remember the sweating, but that will get better too. You sound so much more positive and upbeat now, good on you!
Deter - I drink smoothies often, haven't tried the pea supreme yet, think I'll pass on that one! Glad you got a new avator, the "steak" thing was kind of creepy!

Paddy - Congrats on the liver function test, and 49 days. I have also lost my belly, but as the 30 day thread will attest, my boobs are also missing. Good thing hubby has always said that more than a handfull is just a waste :H
