Mary: Thanks for that. It gives me something to look forward to and reminds me of the isolation that I'm coming from.

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!
Yo, all you AB stars!
DG, thanks for starting a new thread. I actually, believe it or not, read the COMPLETE thread from the VERY BEGINNING on Saturday night. Have I mentioned I haven't been sleeping? I'm serious, not sleeping. . . . :damn: Maletonion does not do it for me, nope, not at all. . . .
I guess our next big party is only two days away! Way to go Lilaclover! I hear Satori and the bros are already practising. Am looking forward to what they do next!
Shall I do the iineup? Really, you guys have to flash your stars! If you don't, well, I'll just have to do it for you!
Buffy *** (Yay! glad to have you back!)
Meditation Mama ****(Boy, what I would give to own my own day spa, you lucky duck)

Lilaclover **************************** Wow, racking them up! Party coming up real quick!
Chief ********** (Glad you're feeling better)
Me 30 + ***
Satori 30 + **** (I'm gonna have to spike your AF drink and catch up)

We are positively glowing! If I have miscounted or missed anyone, well, you know the routine - spit balls at the screen, and correct me in your next post. Also - open invite to anyone who wants to join in!
Onward ho oh Booze Bustin' Buddies!!!
*%@#+@!!!!!!! Just ran and took clothes out of washing machine to put in dryer - why is it that you always miss a kleenex in pocket??????? Aarggh!
Re the not sleeping thing - maybe an hour last night? But not so much from alcohol withdrawals as for something I foolishly encouraged hubby to do - start up own business. He has bought a computer program for setting up the Business Proposal that you take to the bank and is on full forward. Leaving me (it's my job, after all) to worry and fret about all the possible things that could go wrong. But I decided he may as well look into it, and find out whether it's feasible or not, and then either let it die a natural death or move forward. No use in going into old age moping about missed possibilities. Only problem is that we are quite stable in our jobs right now, and why rock the boat? Tell me I should learn to keep my mouth shut? Scary stuff, I'm the type who likes having regular paycheques, benefits, etc. :sighbubble: DG, ask the great pumpkin for some words of advice?
Well, girls, I am going to start the "vet horror $ stories" thread tomorrow. Look for it!

I just love this thread(and the old one), you are all so inspiring, supporting and comforting, with so much wisdom and encouragement. Anyway, yesterday was day 6 AF for me, and feeling so positive and energised.
Well done to everyone with your AF days, there seems to be a few celebrations coming up, looking forward to those, plus Satori's mates performance!! I will promise to remember all your names and achievements, still in alcohol fuzzy brain state, but gradually wearing off. But all achievements are fantastic, well done.
Hope you all have a great day whatever time it is where you are.

Mary- excellent work! It feels so great tackling something that presents itself as a challenge. I bet it is beautiful country. It is on my list. I have been to Boston and Newport but want to head north.
Hannah- thanks for doing the star* post. It is wonderful to see all that red. I am so glad to be on day 11. I am wishing you a peaceful nights sleep.Maybe you could try relaxation exercises. That might sound hokey but it works sometimes for me. I also actually started running again in the spring so I would sleep better at night.
I think DG had trouble sleeping for a while so maybe she'll have some words of wisdom.
Med ma ma- How is the pampering coming? Your green tea drink sounded good. I could use some non alc. drinks. I love my Fuze but would love some alternatatives.
Madison- Keep it up. You can do it. : ) The fog will lift. I felt more clear after a week. Some days I still feel foggy but I think that's Motherhood and late 30's- ha!
Satori- Glad you are still around. Now that I am officially back in work-land (mama needs a new pair of shoes), I'll be on less but will check in as often as poosible. You and DG always have some great words of inspiration and humor to get me jump started. Thanks!
It is raining here once again. Today I am back to work and daughter is off to school. I will try to get on later this evening sometime. I wish everyone a healthy and happy day.AF since 2/22/2012

GOOD DAY BOOZE BUSTERS!!! It's always a great AF day here when the Dreadmill and Torture Trak are done before 6AM. It's Day 43 and I'm lookin' for some mischief.
Pinkie!! Sorry the All One isn't working for you. HAPPY DAY 42!!!!!!! Booze Busters just ROCK.
Satori - welcome to day 35! You are rockin' it. You need a "tester" to make sure Hannah B. doesn't spike your drinks. Follow up to the Bowflex manual saga.... I got an e-mail back from them yesterday offering to sell me a manual for....are you sitting down?? the low, low price of $59.95. WHAT???? So I call their 800 number to discuss that. LOL - the gal on the phone says..... "I can e-mail you a pdf file for free..." DUH. I asked about an electronic copy in my original e-mail. So anyway, I now have a manual. So today I'm going to put together my initial upper body and lower body workouts. There is a lot on the bowflex for the various upper muscle groups. Not as much variety for the lower muscle groups. Oh well...
MM - welcome to day 5!! Another perspective on the All One. I actually like it. I was taking a multivitamin supplement before MWO and All one. After I started the MWO program, several health issues started improving for me right away. I'm sure giving up the booze was part of that, but to the degree All One is helping, I'm stickin' with it. On the L-Glut I was taking 3 per day and now I've cut back to 2. On the Kudzu I was taking the max in the ranges recommended (10 or something like that per day??) Now I'm only taking 2 of those. I am still taking the full recommended dose of the other things - B-50, Magnesium, EPO, etc. I also take 1 GABA per day and I actually think that makes me feel pretty good. Anyway..just another 2 cents.
Chief - welcome to day 12! You boys need to get your pom poms dusted off for the parties this week!
Mary (reteach) congrats on Day 44! That is awesome about overcoming your hesitance about highway driving. And another pot luck coming up! Good for you.
Hi 'Feet' hope you are doing well today! And rob too!!
Hannah B. aka Deb, sorry to hear you are still not sleeping well. Sorry the melatonin didn't help. Wow starting your own biz is a huge step. And in our little "family" I take resopnsibility for all of the worry warting too. We started our business in fall 2003. The good thing is that we did not have to make a huge capital investment, so didn't have to borrow money. Even so, I bite my nails every time we have a slow month. We still have to pay the mortgage, etc. We have savings but I'd sure rather hang onto that for retirement than use it now for paying regular bills. **wise great pumpkin please send hannah b aka deb a list of additional things to worry about oops i mean consider for mr. hannah's business proposal** Seriously... Our accountant and our investment adviser our on our "team" and we consulted them before we started. According to both of them, the biggest reason for business failure in the first 5 years is not having enough access to cash to keep things going. It's easy to over estimate the length of time it can take to build up positive profits. You might also check out your local chamber of commerce. They are all different. Ours is VERY active and the chamber leadership and active members are tightly connected to the other community development programs. So we were able to talk to a lot of people about our business plan to get input from other business leaders and community development folks. The more input you get, the better. That sort of networking can also come in handy later if/when you need advice. If you have a good plan to meet a need in your area relative to competition, etc., and you have enough capital, then GO FOR IT!! OK.. I'm done hijacking my own thread LOL!!! HAPPY DAY 34!!!
madisonmay - Happy Day 7 and congratulations on finishing 1 week sober today! Glad the brain fog is lifting for you too. That's a little crazy isn't it?
Hi AF!!! Happy Day 11. You are sure rackin' 'em back up!!
Hannah Deb, thanks for listing our star counts!! So it looks like tomorrow is Lilac's 30 day party, with July (30) and 'Feet' (90) on Saturday, right? Boys you better practice some cheers for Lilac and 'Feet' cuz you are in high demand. Hannah, can you help organize the Booze Bustin' Chick Cheerleaders for July's shindig?
**waving to everyone else yet to come today**
WHEE day 43!

DG- You are turning into a picture of health. I need to add weight training to the mix. I think the old hand weights are about all I can handle these days. Do you remember the old Saturday Night Live skit "I am going to pump you up?!" I thought running and abstaining would help melt the fat but I haven't lost that much. Oh well. At least I FEEL better. Have a great day!AF since 2/22/2012

Good morning! Yes, it is. Feelin' fine today... Day 5. Whew, day 4 sucked, but that was to be expected.
DG- You are an inspiration! My little darling goes back to school on Monday and I start the gym again. This time without a hangover.. Can't imagine how much easier that is going to be!
I'm also on day 5 of my internal cleanse, no sugar, no meat and of course, no alcohol. I have been taking this Dr. Natura cleane and it is amazing. I am feeling so good. It is a 60 day cleanse! 30 days on, then 5 days off then another 30 on. I have been wanting to do this for years. This is finally the right time. Here comes the new me.. I feel like a butterfly today....
I am full of gratitude today.. for all of you, my health, my family and a clear and productive day ahead.

Starting day 4, yippy! I am starting to feel pretty good. I took Valerian yesterday and couldn't keep my eyes open, I guess it is better to take that at night. It seemed to cut my appetite and also had no desire to even think about wine at all, it almost made me feel a bit queezy. I took a few naps during the day and still slept at night. That stuff really works if you have any sleep problems. It gave me a bit of a headache too, but I have advil! I also started taking vitamins and I have tea with Kudzu in it. I am starting to comprehend the chemical problems that I have always had with alcohol, I really think there is an allergic reaction for me when I drink. Wine mostly, there have been some studies on it. Well, if people who have peanut allergies can live without peanuts, I can surely do without Wine. Happy Day to everyone, Buffy

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!
Hi Guys!
So how's tricks?
Sorry to say this has been one Sh*tty day so far. Started off, had to be up early on my Wednessday (sanity day) off to take dog to vet to have teeth cleaned and scaled (she is on an Rx soft dog food, hard on her teeth). I am hoping she comes hone w all her choppers still in hter mouth.
Anyhooooo, slept in, barely made it to appointment. Hit button on coffee pot. The pot was not completely under the drip thingee so the coffee didn't come out the drip thingee into the pot, instead went all over counter and into the water reservoir, complete w grounds. :durn:
Made it to the vets, dripped off dog, then drove to a local tea room/art gallery to buy a print for hubby's birthday next Monday. Didn't know what time they opened, turned out to be 9:30 and there I was at 9:00. Thought, ok, I'll go to the nearest 7/11 and get coffee and breakfast, come back. Got back and sat there till 9:50. Drove away in disgust.
Came home & stepped in front of fridge to open it - noticed mat was wet. Realized the water dispenser was dripping - non-stop. I cannot budge the fridge myself. Called hubby who luckily this week is in the same country, and said "COME HOME QUICK!". He came home w another fellow and they wrestled the fridge out & turned off the water line. Then had to have coffee, etc., so blew several hours out of my busy day but at least saved the hardwood flooring.
Phoned the vet to see if I could go pick up Misty, was told there had been an emergency surgery so she got bumped, was just then going into surgury, and I may have to leave her three overnight, but phone back at 3:30. This presents a problem in that I am going to work at 7:00 a.m. and don't get back till about 6:00p.m. their office hours are 8:00 to 5:00 or so, and hubby won't be around tomorrow. So who's going to pick her up????
Drove back to the tea shop/art gallery. Didn't even mention having sat there forever this morning, thought no point. Did buy print, which was WAY more expensive than I thought it was going to be. Then picked up a new coffee pot (a perk this time - threw the other one away) and phoned the vet. I can pick her up at 4:30, surgery went fine - first thing that went fine all day! So just a quick hello, it's 4:15 right now. I can hardly wait to get the vet bill (yeah right).
Will hopefully come back and start the "Vet $ horror stories" later tonite, as promised. I'm sure most of us have a few of those.
Have a good AF day, all!!!!

Hi guys! :wavin:
Just to say hello quickly - my little ol' bed calls after a sunny day in the UK - Whay Hay!!!! * The only sun I could find - where's it gone in the smilies? Used it earlier?!!?
Have posted in my ol' 'struggling' bit coz I'm not today and why is there.... sorted out my mind - well, for today anyway!!! Thanks for ALL your support and caring... :h
But it tells there that, with AF's help, I think I'm going to 'come up in the world' and become 'Finding'!!! I don't mind feet (like anatomically!) but Finding sounds a lot more positive to me!!! But, call me Fred or Oi, You!... I don't mind !!!
Hope you're all doing OK/great/fab etc etc. I'm really sorry not to mention everyone separately - it means so much when you do it... but you're all individually in my heart...
Love and strength and hugs to everyone.

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!
Hi 30 day(and more) Boozebusters,
I posted in the daily abs thread about how I was hesitant to post having strayed so many times from the abstinence program. However, I enjoy reading all your posts so much that I would be selfish to not participate. You folks are so enthusiastic and energetic that sometimes I feel like a big whiney, wimp. I need to have my butt kicked.
It is indeed hard and I am still at a fragile day four. I greatly appreciated MM's post yesterday about how hard day four was. It seems so much easier to go back to day one when you're only on day 3. I can't wait to get to double digits when the fall will seem that much harder.
Anyway I appreciate this thread and your enthusiasm and humour. I'll post as often as I can and try to give back what you great folks have given to me.
Janet
