    Morning all!

Thank you Doggy for the new thread, the other one was getting too long to navigate. Thanks for the reminder of the fugly suit, it is my #1 reason to not drink!

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!

Hi again Pinkie! From the other thread during the transition time...

rob, WELCOME TO DOUBLE DIGITS!! Doesn't that victory feel good. Congratulations!

Lotus that is AWESOME news about your Accounting course work. Congratulations. Your MIL sounds like a bitch. Do I remember reading that MIL lives with you and hubby? Good grief. I admire you - you've got guts and courage big time. I'd be suicidal if my MIL was spending one night at my house. TAKE MORE COURSES!!!!!! Congratulations on these accomplishments in your life - first cutting back the drinking, getting involved in courses, and now working on this 30 days AF challenge. That rocks. Screw MIL's negativity. **would you like to know what i really think**

Pinkie - your All One comment made me think of another question I've been meaning to put out there to you and anyone else who started out with the whole shebang of recommended supplements. I've now cut way back on the Kudzu and L-glut. I think I want to keep it around for emergencies, but for now I'm feeling fine on much less than I originally took - especially the kudzu. Other experiences??

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!

Good morning(or whatever time is is for you) all-

DG_Thanks for the new thread. Maybe some newbies will hop aboard the crazy train. I am on day 10. Glad to be back in the double digits. Dg- I am taking less Kudzu this time around and so far it's fine. I take it day by day.

Pinkie- 41 days??? You should say it loud and proud.

Hannah- I, too am the "handy" woman at our home. My husband is soooo not handy. Good thing I love him so much. I always tell him that I am going to marry a handy guy in my next life. I'd still pick him again though.

July- We start school here tomorrow. I, once again join the world of the employed. You have 3 kids??? I barely count w/ one! : )

Med mama- I am envious of your pampering. Sounds wonderful. It's good you are taking care of #1.

Satori- are you around? I was waiting for your morning humor and wisdom!!!!

Hi to Lotus, Rob, Chief, Lilac, and everyone else that checks in today. I will running around like mad getting last things for school and work. Have a great af day all.

Hi Everyone: I'm still doing well navigating around the world sober. It isn't easy but definitely not as perilous as when I was drinking. Love, Mary

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!

Hi everyone, here I am again back at the beginning. I fell off the wagon big time, and am determined not to do it again. Like Doggy G said....it's so not worth it! I have been playing around with moderation...haha...it lasts for awhile and then I don't know what happens to me...sometimes hormones, I think, but I can't stop. It's like I am frantic to get that next glass of wine in me as fast as I can. I just can't have the first one. I have to think of this as a disease, a curse, a monster inside of me that I have under control until I open the door with that first drink...then whatever it is is out. I am Buffy the Vampire slayer in a way...but the monster is inside of me. That is so scary, but I have to think that way or I don't take this seriously. That was very dramatic, sorry....haha...I am on day 3 today. I still feel bad physically from Saturday night, but I am drinking lots of water, reading lots of posts, and am going to load myself up with vitamins, do a cleanse, and pray. I was under alot of stress last week, making plans to open a business with a friend, and have decided I am not going to do it. I am going to try and enjoy the fact that I don't have to work...I don't understand the compulsion that I have to work when I don't have to. I am glad to be back among the Abers!

WHEE Buffy's back!!! It's so great to see you. It's clear you have reviewed what's in the rear view mirror, and learned what you can. Now the only thing to do is simply move forward. OH WAIT!! There is one other thing you must do first - take your turn in the Fugly Green Suit. kickbu_c - Fotosearch Stock Photography All part of the healing process. Happy Day 3 AF!!! * * *

Hi Mary! Happy Day 43. I will always remember your days and Pinkie's since we are all right in a row the three of us.

Hi AF!! LOL - a go to a business referals club meeting every Friday morning (Mr. Doggy and I have a business) and the purpose is the exchange business leads. One of the guys in the group (George) quit "corporate america" awhile back. His business is called "George's Rent-A-Hubby." How cool is that? LOL - we DO tease him unmercifully at times about EXACTLY what services he is offering out there.

OK - have a great day everyone!!

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!

                  Afternoon (here) folks,

Almost Famous - I am still here - but another busy day today so have not had much time to post.

So, Thanks Doggy for starting a new thread - the last one was HUUUUUUGE! - Yep - I know that is good - but it was getting difficult to keep track!
(still using that worn out brain I got at auction recently!)

Doggy - day 42! - yep these days just seem to come along quicker and quicker - you are SO right about the first 10! Some of them seemed endless - now this booze free stretch feels like IT could be endless!
Never thought I'd hear myself say that.
Have to admit to some relatively strong cravings yesterday - I didn't really ever consider giving in to them - but they kind of caught me off guard for a moment or two!

The beast was whispering "OK - you proved you could do 30 days - so a little drink won't do any harm".
So I just did the only thing possible in these circumstances.
I kicked his hairy butt, (went and did some work down in the basement of our house - no alcohol down there - just spiders and other creepy crawlies!)

                  Anyway -

Lotus - Absolutely fabulous news!! That will show that old b***h of a MIL!
Not only are you being successful at your Accountancy course - you are busting the Booze habit too!
                  She must be getting real
worried right now. Her percieved "power" over you is fading fast.
You are proving all her "predictions" WRONG. You WILL be successful!
And NO she WONT like it but - GET USED TO IT MIL! Mandy has ARRIVED!
We are proud of you! Day 7 - YAY!

Feet - approaching three gold trophies - while dealing with loads of personal stuff - how strong is that?? You are definitely showing us the way!

Chief - Day 11 - and still bashing the Beast - glad to hear you are feeling better today. Beast bashing is hard enough when we are feeling 100%!
                  Well done!

Lilac - 28 days? Your celebrations are just around the corner! Hope you will be able to take the excitement! I'm sure I can rustle up a few more of my mates to help you celebrate! What do you prefer - the girly androgenous young type, the well toned atheletic type or the sexy older man type? Let me know and I will look in my address book!

Pinkie - day 41 - I think you have definitely proved to anyone who doubted you that Pigs CAN Fly! Cool!

Hannah / Deb (still can't get used to the "real" you!) Day 33! One of the veterans of this thread - come on tho'- you are only ONE day behind me - If you try REALLY hard I am sure you could catch up!
(Just DONT drink a few more than I'm not drinking every day and you will be here in no time!) (Mind you - I am not drinking a LOT )

July - day 26 - how is your running now compared to before you went AF (I assume you were running back then??)

                  Madisonmay - day 4 is a toughie!
But I'm sure you will be here posting star no 5 tomorrow - you can do it.
I have the star here all polished up and waiting for you!

Welcome home Buffy! You started the original thread that got me started on this AF run. So I have a lot to thank you for!!!:h
Stay here with us this time - we are a little weird - but damn - we are good! So many of us busting the beast - this thread MUST be infectious!

Meditation - could you send over some of your fine employees to Scotland please - a bit of pampering and a few post-pamper naps would go down SO well right now!!!! day 4? you are cruising it!

retteacher - wondered where you had got to - but wasn't worried - you seem to be enjoying the AF life so much - dont be a stranger tho' we need some of your energy here!

Well - better go and pretend to work again for a while.

Take care all and have a fantastic AF day!
Aint no crave caving HERE - no way -not in any shape or form - no Sir!
                  Day 34 half way done!

Anyone I missed - not intentional - just post and kick MY butt
(Mine is the NON hairy one BTW!)

                  See ya

Booze Busters 30 Day Challenge - 8/21 New Thread!

Hi everyone: W/43 days of sobriety, I'm just so puzzled as to why I felt I needed to be numbed out all the time. My life continues to unfold. I shared on the newbie forum that in the last 3 years of my drinking, I developed a phobia of driving on the highway. I'm sure the constant drinking & hangovers eroded my sense of confidence & judgement. I could barely go a few miles on the interstate wo/feeling panicky & having to get off & take local roads to my destination. My world just got so narrow & isolated! Last week, I drove up to Vermont on the interstate, & last Sunday, I drove down to Connecticut (in heavy traffic). I got nervous a few times, but I did it. I faced the fear & came out the other side. I have all of you here at MWO to thank for opening my life up.

I've been connecting w/old friends that had fallen by the wayside. Instead of scolding me for not calling them, they said: "Sure! We'll come to your house for a potluck next Saturday."

I'm just beginning to see what I've been missing all these years...& now I'm making up for it. Mary
