Woke up this mornin' and I'm feelin fine

    Cause I am sober
    S-O-B-E-R.

    Buh, bum, bah bum=
My wife she still loves me
    But I don't know why
She must think I'm a groovy kinda guy
    Cause I am sober
    S-O-B-E-R

    Buh, bum, bah bum=
    My life has got better
    I put in the work
When I look in the mirror-
    I don't see a jerk
    Cause I am sober

Well , there ya go. Its all in the downbeat and delivery.

And yes I will keep my day job.

LOL - one of the first things I did here (about 8 months ago)was start a thread where folks posted a verse (or more) of the MWO Blues. It ran for a while. Some good stuff - Popeye was a natural bluesman if I recall correctly!

    You should have been there!
    Same style as me -

    Bah Buuum, Bah Bum.......

BOOZE BUSTERS 30 DAY CHALLENGE NEW THREAD 10/1

        Welcome aboard ms. Dei!

I know you will succeed in your 30 days AF - I have seen how you have progressed on other threads since you arrived here!

LZ - yep the end of the 30 days does seem a little flat - probably because we build it up mentally (understandable - it IS a challenge for people like us!).
However, the longer you go on AF - the less importance you attach to drinking (my experience anyway).
I actually begun to not think about drinking, and actually enjoyed the freedom of being AF.

Personally, when it came to the end of my first 30, I found it EASIER to stay AF rather than going back to moderating.
I had been moderating for several months since I arrived - but TBH I found it almost as stressful as when I was drinking uncontrolledly.
I STILL had to plan how much, when and where to allow myself to drink. I still felt "guilty" when I did drink.
I still had to watch as my definition of moderation seemed a little fluid - ie it seemed to creep upwards with time.
In the end - the relief of not having all that stress by being AF outweighed the percieved "advantages" of having a few drinks.
But - that was my experience - we all have to find our own way!

July - I actually managed to escape into the mountains here on Sunday - it was a beautiful day here (as it is today).
In my wanderings I came across the wreckage of a De Haviland Vampire jet (one of the very first British jet aircraft which went into service with the RAF in about 1945) which must have crashed in the early 1950s.
I have seen many aircraft wrecks in my mountain wanderings over the years - but it is always a little strange and sad to come across a piece of camoflage painted history out there in the wilderness!
(The mountains of scotland were - and still are - used for training RAF fighter pilots in low level flying in challenging terrain. Sadly it appears it has been a bit too challenging for many over the years.)

FMF - I will most certainly attempt to keep everyone in line if at all possible - we can't have random wandering all over other threads y'know!
Who knows what it will lead to! This place has gone to the dogs!
        I don't know - I go away for a few days and.........

OK - Stand up straight everyone - don't slouch there! :H

Chief, Hannah, Mary and all the others yet to come HI Guys!

Anyone seen Lotus? Not heard from her in a while!
        Still no sightings of Doggygirl?
Hope they are OK and lurking - if so - HI to you too -missing yooooooo!

Anyway - best go and do some work.

        Love

        Satori

Hi Satori- Always and adventure in your llife. Imagine rambling in the mountains and coming upon a wrecked plane, not something you're likely to run across here in central Ohio. LOL.

LZ- Great to see you here every day. I don't think is so much a matter of wisdom as it is of having made most the the mistakes, usually more than once!! Glad you enjoyed the fireworks!!

Madison- Great to see you again, welcome back. Sounds like you have a great basis for being AF with 36 days.

July- I'm glad to hear that your enjoying fall in the mountians.

FMF- always a joy to have you here with us.

To everyone else--Howdy and hope to hear from you soon.

                Love and Peace

Hello All!- Sounds like everyone is off to a good start to this AF October..
Day 53 here and all is well. I still think about drinking but not in the sense of thinking OF drinking. It's like I think of it as something I did in the past. I no longer wish I could go back there, in fact, the thought of taking a drink is just out of the question. I never thought I could ever be here. It's just amazing. I'm so thankful and feel so blessed to have found MWO and everyone who helped me get to this point..

Hope you all have a great evening and I'll check in tomorrow..

LOL Rob - you make my life sound almost interesting!!!

Most of the time I just work, eat, stop the kids killing each other, stop SWMBO killing the kids and sleep like everyone else!

Have you noticed how long I've been moaning about the weather here preventing me from getting into the hills?

I'm sure central Ohio has its good points!

Satori and Chief you give me hope. I so want to get to that frame of mind. Had major stress yesterday with the outlaws (thats what I call my inlaws) and straight away the craving for a drink came back. I know I'm early days yet so thanks.

                              Satori, Chief and Star,

It is so awesome to hear you guys say things about not even wanting to drink anymore and how you like not drinking.

For the rather slow ones of us that are still working on our first 30 days, that is heartening news and really makes it a lot easier to keep it up. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it is NOT a train.

                              Thanks guys!!

You have all made my day.

                                Hi BabyGirl

                                How can we help?????
Tell us a little about yourself, and ask any specific questions you like.
Sorry if the answers don't always come instantly - but we are all over the world and it depends on the time zones how quiet / busy it is here.

Have you posted in the Just starting out section to introduce yourself yet?
Or even the NEED HELP ASAP section if you need urgent advice.
Jumping into the middle of an established thread, you can kind of get overlooked.

I'll go and check these sections to see if you are there!

                                Oh and :welcome: BTW!!!!
