WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

Hello guests and welcome to the Inn for 30

The Inn for 30 is a gathering place for those who wish to remain AF (alcohol free) for 30 consecutive days.

Please come in and get comfortable, we have many rooms and encourage you to choose one that suits your tastes.

We do ask that all guests observe the house rules which are as follows:

    1) All guests will respect, support and encourage each other during their stay.

    2) While all guests are encouraged to enjoy the rumpus room, the padded walls are not meant to encourage head banging. If you are feeling really crazy or really craving, come here and talk to someone!!

    3) Unfortunately, we have an unwanted inhabitant who occasionally slips up on unsuspecting guests. His name is Al-(coholic) . If Al does happen to ?get you? (you have a slip) you will not be asked to leave. However, you will be sent to the Wreck Room a place where I?m sure you will not want to linger.

    4) We have a fully equipped exercise room, but because your current proprietor is a lazy slug, I suggest that you get you read the booklets scattered about the room or ask someone who knows about that kind of stuff. The only ?exercise? we require of our guests is that you keep track of your AF days, any way you want to from *
    to :moon:
    .
    5) Our nutritionist/cook is currently on leave for a gastric bypass so it?s pretty much up to you to get your own meals. However, we will have Sunday dinner together for our Sunday Shout Out where the rules will be reviewed for the newcomers and AF days will be posted.

    6) Have Fun, Don?t Drink, No running or Diving around the Pool!!

WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

Rob, MM, Baby, Ru, FMF - Hey, we are all checking in today!! The registration desk is pretty crowded.

Glad so many are joining this group. I like ODAT and the 30 day goals. I need both.

Sometimes I can only seem to see through this one day but I need to "know" that the ultimate goal for me is AF, which does require long periods of AF.

Thanks for starting the thread and letting me check in, too.

              Love,
              Cindi

WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

                YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I'm checking in too!!!!!
This Inn sounds a little like an asylum, which is perfect!! Means I'll fit right in! Thanks Rob for being such an excellent concierge!

Oh, and......can I get a room with a nice view? I'm a light sleeper, so can it be at the end of the hall? Can room service bring me my meds? Is breakfast included? Where's the ice machine (for my diet cokes)? Can I get wake up calls? Where's the pool? How do I make long-distance calls from my room? Can I get some extra towels? And an extra pillow? You cleared out the minibar, right? I need more soap and shampoo. There's a strange smell in my room. Can I get a triple A discount? I'm not high maintenance or anything.......

AND............. I MADE IT THROUGH MAY DAY 1 AF YESTERDAY!!!!! So today is Day2. I'm so relieved. and so grateful to everyone here who talked me through the rough patches yesterday! :thanks: thank you, thank you, thank you.........

BabyG - Day5! you're a rockstar! I want to be just like you (come wednesday)!!
and rob, Meditation Mama,Rust, Feet, db2 and everyone else- so looking forward to our time together..... I'm pumped!!

                luv:h , Beth

p.s. if I see Al lurking around the halls, I'm kicking him in the nads and throwing him in the pool. Or better yet, locking him in the sauna. He's gross.

Ok.. Have to say it.. I am a total princess, I know, but.. I just checked and I don't have any toilet paper in my room. I would also like one of those little shoeshine hand mittens...

WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

Hi Everyone: I'm day 9 today & feel wonderful. We had a great overnight visit from our grandsons, & today I've got some good plans. One of my friends who had surgery needs some clothing altered, & I volunteered. That would not have been possible if I was drinking. I feel grateful that I have enough of my faculties to be able to do this small favor for her. She's been through a tough time. Thank you everyone for being there. Mary

MM - I think AL went through all the bathrooms and stole all the TP. I don't have any either. I bet he's gonna tp the trees out front tonight .

WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

The truth of the matter re the TP is that Al has realised that this place is dry and he has stolen all the TP, put it in a bucket with some yeast and is trying to ferment it.......

My advice is not to drink anything here unless you open the bottle yourself (AF, naturally)......and don't drink out of damp glasses.

I like the big room with the log fire....anyone want to meet up for some sparkling water there this evening?? :H

                          Suze x
Just hand me the chocolate and.........I'll consider my position. My solicitor has advised me to say no more than that.

WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

I think I got the best room with the ocean view!

So glad to be on a vacation from Al. I only request a Bose system in my room and Aveda products. My room only needs to be cleaned once a week. I am all for being green.

Ok friends, I am off for a walk on the beach and then some snorkeling. I will take my fish food so they will be all around me. Now that is close to heaven if you ask me. I may get lucky and find some happy turtles around too. The sharks do not scare me but Al sure does.

Vacation is so nice and luxurious! This Inn is great. I hear there is a wreck room but I do not intend to find it.

Oh, and thanks for the fresh, organic flowers in my room- nice touch!

WELCOME TO THE INN FOR 30

Welcome, Welcome! To the Inn at 30! I see that many checked in. Hope you find your rooms comfy.

Please try to check in with the doorman daily, and have a great time - within reason, of course.

Hi Fiinding! We could use a good English sense of humor here. Hope you check in often!

Meditation Mana - Good to see you back! Have you decided you need a vacation after the stress of your move, the fires, you bad back, etc? Well, you have come to the right place!

Baby Girl - Hope your stay is a pleasant one.
Rustop, Cindy, - the more the merrier! Good to see ya!
Mary - You are such a thoughtful person. How nice of you to offer to alter your friends clothes. Hope she does okay, sending her good vibes.

Wonder World, Lucky, et al - I see that you have brought some verbal “whine” with you - so long as that’s the only kind! Well, I can see I will have to introduce you to the head of our housekeeping staff, Margaret Take any of your problems up with her. (Chuckle) - and we’ll just see how far you get! Note there is a slight edge of mania to her laughter!

And, Slightly Suze - re the tp - you have to watch that Al(coholic) - if he is up to his old tricks w making tp wine, must remind you that we use nothing but recycled tp here - made from, well, mainly USED tp - so definitely stay away from that stuff!

                              Will introduce you to the rest of the staff as they wander by;

                              -Horatio, our pool boy,
Recommend you stay away from him, bit of a ladies man!

No one else in the lobby right now, but I'm sure more will be appearing shortly. Hope to see many more check in throughout the day! Welcome!
