Hannah & InnerStrength -- thanks for the tips...

Hannah did you really use sunflower seeds to help you to quit alcohol? Interesting...
I just need to get my head wrapped around it...

All you longtimers any suggestions for getting me back on track? Please? BabyGirl

Hi BabtGirl -

Teeny, tiny steps.

One day - or hour - at a time.

Do not look further ahead or back than today - NOW.

See yourself sober.

Use positive words - I will enjoy water/juice/coffee. (Not, I will not drink; the brain only hears nouns really...e.g. 'I' and 'drink'! Same as in golf - "I mustn't put the ball in the water" = "ball...water" and you're in!)

Give yourself new 'treats'.... right or wrong I let myself have chocolate and cream in my coffee etc.... (I still do but now I just enjoy them and they're not a substitute!)

KEEP BUSY!!!!

Window shop big time...keep walking!

Post and post and post and post here!! (keeps idle fingers busy!)

And if desperate - I once heard that someone cleaned their whole bathroom with a toothbrush!!!!!

Lots of love and luck - you CAN do this!
FMF xxx (4.21 months! So, if I can, you can!)

I would love to hear from DG again too!

Ok so I was relaxing here at the Inn and three little imposters who really looked like my kids showed up and wanted to be fed and carve pumpkins. So being the nice person I am and considering how relaxed I am, here at the Inn, I fed them and carved the pumpkins with them. Who let them in? Where are those guards?

Hope you all are having a nice night/early evening/day.etc

Good on you Beaches!

I am in awe of you guys and hallowe'en! How long does it last with you? Is it like Christmas - advent and all that!!? We 'do' the day, a bit, well, some do...and the FUSS about Trick or Treat!!! Maybe it has got bigger here but my kids are too big now but they're already selling off the Hallowe'en stuff cheap in our stores as there's so much of it!

Well, we'll do our pumpkin with his face on the day I expect!! Have a happy time over there! What's it like in Oz anyone?

Sorry you had to feed the tribe Beaches - is there a creche at this Inn? A team of Nannies to beat - ooops, care for - the littlies?!?! I'm sure Hannah or Rob will find a couple for you!

Anyone seen Horatio? Just want to check he's OK.....(hee hee - like is he 'on duty'!!)

Love to all

Well, one dentist appointment later. .
.
Inner Strength - so very well said. I applaud you.

Hi Mary, 12 days? :wd: That?s great. You really have done well, it?s hard to get back up and running after a period of backsliding, so good for you.

HiYa Lucky!Looking forward to spending some time w you soon. Have you got the security badges ready yet?

Maxman - Despite rumors to the effect that our ?pool? was a bucket with a rubber ducky in it, we do have a lovely facility here. Pool, exercise room, spa, Zen garden, internet caf?, fine dining room as well as a more casual cafe. . . . have I left anything out? Being as we are a cyper hotel, we can have anything we darn well want! Oh yes, hairdressing salon, nightclub and lounge :disco: (AF of course) with live entertainment, various kiosks and boutiques off the lobby, meeting rooms, library, etc. etc.etc. We are presently constructing the meditation room, but the Zen garden is a good place to go for peace and quiet.

The pool is just out the door down the hallway to the left of the elevators.

Towels are provided, please remember to throw them in the hamper when you are done.

Baby Girl, you crack me up. No, I never used sunflower seeds to break my alcohol addiction. My sunflower seed addiction was ~ 30 years ago when my hubby played softball, and all the wives would sit in the bleachers and cheer and scarf sunflower seeds. No, the alcohol addiction I beat with plain ol? determination, and a lot of help from all youse at MWO.

FMF has lots of good advice in her post. Really, you have to establish new habits. One thing that helps is to eat really well - if you are not spending $10 (who are we kidding that we needed expensive wine?) a night, at least, on wine, that money buys a mighty nice piece of beef tenderloin, asparagus and baby new potatoes (my own fav meal). You need to feel like you are treating yourself in a new way, ie. Chocolate and cream in your coffee, or whatever turns your crank. Also, so back and read Inner Strength?s post. Says it all in a nutshell.

And, lastly - may I say for everyone here - Doggygirl, if you are out there, we have penthouse suite with your name on it. We would so love for you to join us. :hallo:
The furture lies before you like newly fallen snow - be careful how you tread it, for every step will show.

Hey all: Sorry I'm not up for the evening rundown. I've got some sort of intestinal thing going on and my toilet and I are currently best friends. Hopefully I'll catch up in the AM.

Love and Peace

Our guards are scattered throughout the Inn grounds and on patrol for AL and will shoot to kill. Al is not welcome @ the Inn.

I think we should put Campral in the water @ the Inn so that no one is tempted to invite Al in. Attached files

I have also enlisted the elite of the military with spy planes to keep watch for Al. They are quiet and we will not even know they are overhead protecting us. They are also releasing tasteless and odorless Campral into the air we breathe so we are not tempted to invite Al to the Inn.

Awesome protection Lucky! and, since you're on duty, just a heads up....... you might want to install some extra surveillance in Gretchen's room. There's just something about her..........she may be working for AL "on the inside" ......could be a double agent. Can't put my finger on it.... but she's looks shifty.....
