    Merry Christmas everyone!

Having a lazy morning here; it will be a laid-back Christmas. Maddy is working this morning at the restaurant, but she'll be home by 4pm, and we'll have dinner and open presents then. So I'm just doing a little last minute clean up and just prepping some of the food. My sister made me open one of my presents for the food prep--a Cuisinart blender/food processor combo. Needless-t0-say, I love it! It made chopping all those onions for the stuffing a much more pleasant task.

I see that no one has posted yet, so I assume that you are all busy with holiday stuff. I hope your day has some rest in it, and you enjoy the holiday joy and love of the season.

To my friends of other faiths, Ihope you enjoy your day off and do something that's lots of fun!

    Enjoy....

    Lots of love,

    Merry Xmas Abland!

    wow Kathy, Cuisinart...nice!

we went to a friends fancy dinner and had a total ball. I ended up succumbing to the aroma of wine and decided I would allow myself a controlled amount of 1 1/2 glasses total. well you know how it is at parties....I'm sure I had more than that because Dx told me I will starting to get loopy. thankfully not my old habit of drinking til I'm sick and crazy but still not ideal. anyhow deep in thought over this now.
    be well everyone.

          Merry Christmas!

          Good Day on Christmas 2007

I hope everyone, whether you celebrate Christmas or another holiday, has a wonderful day with family & friends today.

I have not been online in a few days because we have been without power or internet. Luckily, we live with a woodstove, have plenty of wood, and I have a handy hubby who can hook up a generator when needed. But this wind was serious enough to mess with the internet & cable lines. We thought we would be without today, as well, but everything came back last night - yeah! i wasn't excited about cooking Christmas meal with limited power.....

I did have a couple glasses of wine and some bubbly in the last 3 days - but its ok. I am not disappointed in myself, I was in control, and as a few of you know, I wasn't sure if, or how long, I would remain AF. As with everyone here, staying sober will be part of my life , which to me means not letting the drink grab hold and run my life. I do not feel as if this is the beginning of more - I will do AF most of the time. I will continue to read and post here because this has been my 'home' for the last 46 AF days, which was my 'awakening'. I feel new, I feel refreshed, and I look forward to all my AF and some mod days to come.

Looking forward to a Christmas fireside chat!

Hi Kathy, Deter, Dx, Chief & Go2: Merry Christmas to you all! We just got back from our kids & g-kids...fun but hectic & chaotic. I had my first AF Christmas in a very long time, & it really worked for me. There was an open bottle of wine around, but I really didn't feel much attraction. I owe all this to MWO. Thank you everyone. Mary

              G2G,

46 days AF is great, all it takes sometimes to give someone the right perspective on alcohol and the ability to moderate is to a 30- 45 days AF.

I feel like I am going to be able to moderate as long as I stick to the no drinking before dinner rule, that seems to be a biggy for me. That means no drinking while cooking. No drinking untill dinner is served and on the table. I rarely loose control when I apply this rule- it is when I don't stick to this rule that I lose it.

Also, I think if I just stick to drinking on weekends or special occasions that will give my body all week during the weekdays to detoxify for the weekend.

I haven't decided whether to do 100 days af still or go straight to the modsing. Or perhaps just do 100 days AF though not necessary consecutive.

Another thing I realized is that one doesn't need to buy more alcohol just because they run out. So what you're out.
