Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them, but do not let them master you. Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight.

Cool! MM - Mm will definitely benefit from starting so young!

My 16 yo son has just asked if he can start doing some Tai Chi with me!
He currently does Tae Kwon Do and up till recently used to gently rib me about my Tai Chi. As in "get a REAL martial art Dad!" etc.

He happened to be in the Sports centre last weekend and was watching me teach some beginners. After that he was impressed with some of the weapons training he saw the advanced students doing.
So he is grudgingly admitting that there may be something to this Tai Chi after all!

If he gets into Tai Chi - perhaps he will also "get" why I meditate too!

      Love

        "Mm" - awwwwww :h

All I can say is, if my Mom/Dad had any notion of Tai chi, meditation (or sobriety for that matter), my life would have been so different. Even if I rebelled and snubbed them at the time. What a gift.

HMM - I dunno Wonder, aren't kids genetically programmed to fundamentally disagree with everything their parents believe! My kids will probably grow up saying

"If my parents had not been into wishy washy stuff like Tai Chi and Meditation - and had any idea about beating the crap out of us at every opportunity when we stepped out of line - we might have learned something about discipline and MADE something of ourselves"

          As an example,
My parents ate very plain food - I rebelled and now LOVE Asian / Mexican / Japanese / Thai / Cajun - just about anything - and we tend to eat that type of stuff a lot.
My kids are happiest when they go to visit their grandmas- coz she makes good old-fashioned plain food - D'OH!

Yes - I know what you mean Satori. But no matter the details or how things shake out, you are present and accounted for. I grew up in a shitstorm. Rebelling against a meditator parent sounds like an upgrade. You might even say a luxury
