It makes me happy to read all your upbeat postings:goodjob: For me, Day Two is kind of quiet and introspective. I'm feeling peaceful... maybe because I listened to all of the CDs last night. I don't know what all was said, because I fell asleep but did wake up to change discs. All I know is that I had a really good night's sleep without melatonin. Again, my gratitude to you and your voices.:h g.

Booze Busters 30 Day AF Challenge - Week of 3/31
Hello Booze Buster friends!
DG, whew, I was getting worried there! You have to make sure you check in as often as possible and let us know you are okay. In the past, everytime you disappeared it was disastrous.
Hannah, good to see you again. I know your life has been in upheaval with all the moving and change.
Satori, sending :l:l. So many have left the boards and I am feeling a little sad about that.
Everyone else, please forgive me for not going through all your names tonight. I am dead beat exhausted. Client I've been working for is in UK and I am in central US, so have been getting up at 3:30 to work and ending up working until hubby comes home and later. Just brain tired.
Today is day 24 and I am rockin' and rollin'
One of those "thoughts" tried to sneak up on me in a fragile moment. I was sitting on the couch with my book and my mind automatically went to thoughts of grabbing a glass of wine as wind down time approached.
Hah!! Glad I am taking Antabuse and can't even think about doing it. Add to that, I have no alcohol in the house - Glad hubby doesn't drink.
But it surprised me to have the "automatic" thought. I have been doing very well and perfectly content not to drink other than the occasions one would expect the twinges, such as restaurants, etc, where wine is everywhere in sight.
So, on to the next phase. Insuring I get those "automatic" thoughts beat back and new automatic thoughts built in. Fill the change with something good. I got up and went outside with my dog and we walked a bit. It was very refreshing and Spring is here. A short walk for wind down is surely better than those 2-3 BOTTLES of wine I used to swig back every night.
So, booze bustin' Cindi is ROCKIN', ROLLIN' and GROWIN'.
I hope and pray all of you are doing well, too.
Love to all,
Cindi

Day 3
Just checking in. It was a great day. Working in the garden, hanging out with the grandson and feeling good!! Why would I ever want to screw up such fine feelings I'm listening nightly to the funny little robot man on the CDs, and, whatever, sleeping like a baby and feeling much happier than I usually do:l You all have a good evening.:h g.

Booze Busters 30 Day AF Challenge - Week of 3/31
This is great, I'm in! Yesterday, 4/8/08, was the start of my 30-day AF challenge. Going to bed AF again tonight thanks in large part to all the great people here. Yesterday I felt like I was fighting for a lost cause and today I have hope. Hope, it's a good feeling. Good night.I went to my doctor and told him I had a serious drinking problem and that I was in desperate need of a solution. He said, 'Stop drinking.' I said, 'I don't get it..' He said, 'Go home and think about it.'

?lo Everybody! Late check in before I crawl into bed?
Cindi - Always so good to see you - Wow, you are really rockin, rolling, and growing!!!! The antibuse seems to be the extra bit of oomph for you, hey? Just a little extra boost to the will power when you know you absolutely can?t drink?.so glad it?s working for you, seems quite a few people on the boards have been using it lately with good success. You will officially be into your 25th day, as it?s after midnight now?Yay for you!!!! Time for you to shine, and I am so happy for you - you have tried so hard! Cindi, what do you do for a living? Sounds very interesting, whatever it is.
I have pretty much decided I won?t be doing the school sub-secretary thing for very long. And hey - to anyone who has recently moved, and doesn?t know anyone - or even if you?ve lived in the same place for a while, but would like to get out more - check this out -
I went on the internet and looked for volunteer work, groups, welcoming clubs, etc., for this new city we just moved to, and found several things, one of which was a Ladies Welcoming Club - they?ve been in operation for 35+ years, and they hold monthly dinner evenings, etc - I went to one last night, and it was awesome. Met so many nice women, had a great time, and signed up for planned get together/outings - one is a lunch at a local restaurant next Monday, then a movie night, coffee club, and a walking club. Wow - if I?d found this first, never would have even considered this part time job, because I was just looking for something to do, and a way to meet people. There was also a guest speaker from the botanical gardens, which is really almost just across the street from my place, and they are always looking for volunteers. Also met a nice young mother who volunteers at the food bank on Friday afternoons, and she said it?s a great place, she enjoys it a lot?.so lots of options, plenty of things to look into, feeling very positive! I am looking forward to all these things a whole lot - and next month I?ll definitely be going to the monthly supper, and joining the association! You are allowed to be a member of the ?club? for 3 years, 5 if you hold an executive position, and then you move on to join the alumni association.
What a nice thing to do, don?t you think? Wonder who ever started this up. Anyhow, for anyone feeling lonely or needing some distractions from the bottle, I sure encourage you to get on the net, and just look up the web pages for your town. You might well be amazed what you find!
Hi to Lukalee, (wish I could see that floor!), Barebones, Livingfree, Kaddy, Gelgit, Rustop, Satori, Miss October, Mary, DG, Beck, Janice, On My Way - (anyone I missed?) this little girl is on her way to bed?.sleep tight, everyone, and have another AF day tomorrow!

Booze Busters 30 Day AF Challenge - Week of 3/31
jHi Boozebusters
Love the kitty Hannah. I lived in Montreal for about 5 years and joined what was called a Newcomers Club. It was a lifesaver, there was something for everyone. I had small kids at the time so I took them to moms and tots, craft classes. When they were at school I went to breakfasts, lunches etc. For those without young kids there were movie evenings, baccas bunch. It was a great way of meeting new people and gave you a social outlet. After a while you dont need it and make your own friends but in the beginning its fantastic.
My social life now revolves around walking my dogs every morning in the woods with a friend but again I really enjoy it. I get my exercise and so do the dogs and we have a great talk. I call it my therapy!!
Have a great day everyone.

Rustop - Yes, this sounds pretty much the same - I think between this, and the various type of volunteer ops, I could keep pretty busy. My life sort of revolves around my own dog, too, because we live in an apartment style condo, and she needs walking several times a day. So I need to be able to come and go. Have a good day walking your doggies, Rustop!
And to everyone else - have a great day too!The furture lies before you like newly fallen snow - be careful how you tread it, for every step will show.
