Good morning (or whatever time of day it is for you) Booze Busters!
cindi, it sounds like you had a busy and happy day - just like your avatar makes me think of "busy happy." Good for you!
MM - it's great to see you too. We have LOTS of catching up to do!! I'm sorry you had a fall.....boy, when will we all learn. Onward and forward with lots of new folks to get to know, and old friends to re-connect with!
Teardrop, that must have been stressful but congratulations on doing whatever it took to leave the wine and the brandy alone! And good for your hubby removing the temptation when you weren't looking. 41 days is awesome - not worth throwing away lightly in some stupid moment!
That reminds me of a story I don't think I've shared yet. In the week leading up to my facing the need for sobriety, I hid a full, unopened bottle of Vodka here in the house. I remember hiding it, and I remember WHY I was hiding it. We had a handyman coming over to do some work on Mr. Doggy's roof top bee porch (more on that later!) and I wanted to be able to pour drinks, but in an out of the way place where I wouldn't get busted.
Later when I wanted that bottle, I could not find it for the life of me! I was SURE I put it in one of the upstairs bathrooms. Looked high and low. Looked in all the closets. Started looking in all kinds of places where I was SURE I didn't hide it. Needless to say, I went to the store and bought another bottle.
When I told Mr. Doggy I was quitting again, I also told him the story about the hidden bottle even though it was embarrassing to admit - even to him - who KNOWS I stash booze where I can get too it any time I want. I told him if he found a full bottle, to just get rid of it.
Well, he found it Friday night - it was in the DOWNSTAIRS bathroom - the one that guests use when they are here. I'm embarrassed because the cleaning lady probably saw it on Thursday, and I'm GLAD it was gone before dog training on Saturday in case somebody would just be snooping around, or maybe looking for the extra toilet paper or something. My face is turning red just THINKING about stooping that low.
If that doesn't say "Doggygirl nees to stop the madness" I don't know what does.
Anyway, it's Day 5 AF here. I'm feeling happy this AM, and I'm determined to make it a good day!
DG
