    Monday May 12th

    What? Really? Am I the one to start this morning....Wow, was there a computer crash in the UK? LOL
    Well, good day everyone, hope all momma's had a great mother's day and I hope the rest of you survived the day! lol
    This is day 16 for me, and I am looking forward to a nice calm week. How is everyone else feeling today? I know some of you had trepidations about the weekend, hope the weekend was good for all.
    Not too much to say, but just to keep suit....the weather is windy, rainy and COLD!! I believe it is wrong to have to wear wool in the month of May!!!!

    goodmorning fly and everyone very nice here today in sunny florida . got my ass out of bed in the shower and hoping work goes all good today i get bore easy . well now its time to say good bye for now.. good day to all

      Hi Flyinhigh,

      Well done on day 16, I found that once I'd got the first 15 days under my belt the next 15 went quite quickly.

      No, it's not right to be wearing wool in May, It's lovely and sunny here and I'm in rainy England. Hope you have a great day.

        Well, I am from the Northeast and I am wearing socks today. windy and cold....fashion faux paux with an ankle bracelet!!!....
        Had a good weekend, my boys and their significant others took me and hubby to lunch. Nice when we can all get together...
        A good start to this thread......racking up some good AF time......whoo hoo!!!

          Hi Everyone: I had an AF weekend for the first time in a few weeks. It sure felt great & will continue the roll indefinitely. One thing I know for sure is that I'm going to remain AF today. This will not be difficult, as I have a nice day planned. I must keep on taking my sobriety one day at a time knowing that long-term abs is what is best for me. I've been doing plenty of soul-searching & clearing up any impending issues before they blow up into triggers. Have a great day everyone. I'll check in later. Mary

              Good morning all - Congrats on making it through the weekend.

              I am starting day 12 - and am pretty proud of myself - went to see somelive music yesterday afternoon, then to a restaurant where I was the one out of our group of 6 that went AF - enjoyed a nice sweet Coke! I'm giving myself some leeway with the sweets right now - don't know if that's bad or not - but it makes it easier to bypass the alcohol.

              I hope everyone has a great Monday and those who had a rough weekend remember to be proud of the days they racked up and just start again.

                Lovely weather here in London,long may it stay.
                Sorry about the socks and woolies everywhere else!
                Had a good weekend ,went to a Party dressed as Pirates. Hubby not quite Johnny Depp unless its dark and you squint......
                Got through AF was the main point.
                Cindi-What a lovely day for a wedding,- Mothers Day- you must have been so proud! Hope you had plenty of tissues handy and it all went well.

                  Good Morning to all ABer's.
                  Flyin thanks for starting us off this morning.
                  Hope all the Mom's had a great day.
                  Weather is hot and steamy in south florida so no need for woolies or socks here.
                  Today is 14 days AF(wow that's two whole weeks). All I need to do is repeat that 26 more times and I'll have an entire year. I remember last Mother's Day making a plan of making that day 1 so I would be i year AF by this time this year. Unfortunately later that day i began drinking. And I continued to make that promise to myself over and over again this last year. i truly hope that I never have to make that promise and break it again.

                    Hi Everyone,

                    Missed posting yesterday...Apparently my husb forgot that one thing I really like for Mother's Day is for him to take the kids away for a few hours...downtime. Never really happens anymore and I'm not that good at it anyway. Ended up painting trim in my Mom's dining room. I'm feeling restless and cooped up by the rain - it has rained for days here cold, dreary and it does get to me though I know it shouldn't. Can't run, I'm catching a cold and I seem to have forgotten how to sleep through the night. Not good. Okay, enough whining.

                    Most of us have pulled through the weekend. I hit triple digits tomorrow!!!!

                    Want, you sound so well. It is great when that corner is turned. Happy for you. About 2 years ago, I watched as 4 of my friends drank 7 bottles of wine over dinner (at my house). Before they left, I could tell that my best friend wasn't going to remember much...droopy eyes...I thought she might pass out at the table. It was a revelation to me as I used to drink a bit more than she did.

                    Glad you Brits are getting some great weather.

                    Flyin, DogLvr, Time, Lila - getting to the mid-teens is great. You are all doing so well.

                    East - I know you've got quite a few days now.

                    Char - fashion faux pas indeed - my 7 year old would be happy to set you straight. Hope you get out of those socks soon.

                        Hi Abbers

                        Have not posted in a few days and wasnt going to until I read yesterday's posts. It made me get right back in the saddle. My cousin died on Thursday morning. She was only 36 but had been terminally ill for 22 months. It's been a roller coaster and the funeral went from my house. I broke my AF spell, nothing spectacular but I'm back again on Day 1 again. Thanks to all of you, if I had not logged on this morning I would probably have continued drinking.

                          well, my weekend was nice and mostly uneventful and since I travel for work I like to just stay around the house most of the time. Got in a bike ride which felt great also.

                              Beck: Does that mean you're on day 99 today? Wow! Congratulations! I too have watched friends drink a lot. It's a revelation, because it gives me a glimpse of how I looked & felt when I drank too much.

                              Time: I too have made plans to go AF using Mother's Day, Birthday, New Year's Day, etc. as starting points. It doesn't work if we don't stick to it.

                              My latest sobriety date is May 8th, '08...embarrassingly recent. I know I have to work at it to make it stick. My most recent binge is so recent that alcoholic thoughts are in & out thoughout the day. I know they'll decrease, because I've experienced longer term sobriety throughout '07 &'08. I just have to wait it out & do other things.

                              Thank you everyone for being here & being so tolerant of my slips & binges. I'm working as hard as I can. Mary
