Well I am still going strong today is day 30! This weekend was the long weekend in Canada and I was at the cottage where the beer and wine was flowing. It was not easy but I had my virgin cocktails and my perrier. I feel great and have lost 12 lbs. I intend to keep on going! Thank you all for all your support. Sid.

Tuesday 20th May
Good morning all.
Way to go on 30 days Sid. I know Lake life and Al are good buddies, way to stay strong.
What is going on with the week day triggers and urges?? Last night my neighbor shows up and tills my garden?big garden 70?X150?. Needless to say I am very happy. It would have taken me 8 hours with my big troy built tiller. It takes the neighbor 30 minutes with his huge tractor. So when he is done, huge trigger kicks in. I want to grab a glass of wine and turn to the seed packets. Yikes, this is going to take some major work. The garden and Al have always gone hand in hand here. Maybe sober, I will remember what and where I planted.
Start day 3 and I?m already wondering. Part of it is anger at me for making past 50 and blowing it. Oh well, the first week seems to be the worst for me and I?m half way there. After reading Beck?s post I should get out and make my peri-menopause, pms self take a good long run and enjoy the sun.
Hope you all have a great day!! On my wayWas an alcoholic yesterday, an alcoholic today and will still be an alcoholic tomorrow..... but I'm in charge now!

I know how hard 60 must be if 30 is hard. Way to go! I think we are all doing so well even one day is a hurdle. And warm weather makes it harder somehow. I got lucky it was freezing up north! Mty husband thinks it is no biggy. What is that about? Hurt my feelings. I was proud. Deflated my little balloon.

East - Congrats to you. 60 Days is a big deal
Sidney - 30 Days is a big deal too. Don't let husb deflate you. People who don't get it just don't get it!!! You can't fix that just move forward doing what you know is best for you.

Hi Sidney!
Great job on the 30 days, it sure feels great I'm sure. Speaking from my own experience, I too got the no biggie from my wife. I can understand it though as she "put up" with my excessive drinking for so long and from her perspective I'm sure it's "good Riddance" and "about frickin time"!! So I know her expectations are high and same time she is not holding her breath and anything less than 100% permanent results will be a dismal failure. Talk about pressure!!

Sidney, 30 days is HUGE. Don't let hubby burst the balloon. You made a huge choice to change. You have improved yourself mentally and physically as well. As we all know 30 days is darn hard. Again, well done!!
East, 60 days!! Good for you. It's hard but well worth the effort
I am in awe of the all fellow abbers and the group's efforts!!

Congrats to Sid and East on your accomplishments!
Echoing what others have said about your hubby - remember you are doing this for YOU and what other people think isn't that important (unless it's super positive like us!:crowned: )
Of course, I don't discuss my goals or progress with my husband at all so take my advice for what it's worth :H
A friend was here for most of the morning and we were working on a project together. And I confessed that I had given up AL (for the hot flashes, I said) and then said that I'm going to try and keep it up for 6 months - did I say that out loud?! :egad:uch:

Congrats to Sidney and East!!! Well done, day 2 for me, will make it, have NO desire to drink, that is now anyway, then my son is "Graduating" from middle school (yes they actually sell that nowadays!) I remember high school was it for me, my older son didn't have graduation from middle school either, or maybe he just didn't tell us, he doesn't get into all those festive occasions anyway
Everyone here sounds so determined, I am really glad I checked in today, hint hint, nudge nudge...................thanks for the prompt!!:thanks:
Keep on "keepin' on" all you great, motivating, wonderful Abbers!!!!!
love ya!!!:l:h

Oh my goodness. I finally got my child support check, but it is not for all of the amount owed. I have a court date becasue of this and other issues. I am shaking. I have always been afraid of being poor. Oh my gosh - I have to sign my son up for football tonite. He is doing this to hurt ME I know. My kids are athletes and are wonderful and not at all spoiled.
I think alcohol fried out his brain, that and other substances.
