      Thanks Cindi and Jo.
Jo, I thought I would never be able to socialise again. I think the key is dont put pressure on yourself. I did at first and it was hard. Then a couple of successes have changed my outlook totally.

Cindi, you are so right, the possibilities of a sober life are endless!

I love that regardless of the problems and trials of everyday, they are no longer compounded by nights of drinking and the shame, self-loathing and all the rest that follows it. I am learning to face the world without the cloud of alcohol and it feels kind of freeing, if that makes sense.

            Well put Mtn

It's not all sunshine and roses for me being AF but its a hell of a lot better than when I was knocking back the wine night after night after night after night....

hi all,dog lady GREAT POST,AGAIN,l love when someone i care about, opens pandoras box, ,sobriety is good, but it is nothing new to me,it is the correct way to live life,i do beleive both have there good points,if all is taken in moderation, long term sobriety is not a gift, even to the alchoholic mind,we spend endless days and nights trying to stay this way, only to wonder if we might fall again, this is not a negative, way of disrupting this thread,to me this will always be normal thinking, drinking or not, only time wil tell,as far as starting the other thread on the loathing of drinking, one only has to go read the sincllair method, thnx doggy gyco

Murphy: This is the other thread I was telling you about. It's very positive. Yes, it's good to remember the bad things about being drunk. That takes the romanticism out of drinking...wine & roses so to speak. This is just great stuff too. Mary

What do you love about your AF Life? (Inspired by Cindi)

Well, its only Day 6 this time, and I have been feeling really low, BUT....

I like that I am clear in the morning and up early. I may not have always had a hangover, but I was very 'cloudy' and 'foggy'. Now I am up and thinking and reading and trying to face whatever is there that's been hiding because I pushed it down with everyday wine.

I REALLY like that I am not hiding any bottles! I think there might be a couple to retrieve and get rid of, but I am not emptying any more. I did that just to reduce the number going in the trash that would get handled by hubby. He hasn't said anything yet about no bottles in the trash, but he should notice at some point I would think.

So that's two improvements for me for today - yippee!
