      feeling fresh each day,slowly more confident and knowing all the calories i have to worry about now are food and I won't miss exercise sessions due to being hungover!

        Feeling I will be nicer to the people in my house, strangers in the street and myself. Life is so full of love and beauty all the time. Having felt so blind for so long.
        I am blessed with love joy and sobriety.

            Having my friends tell me they LOVE knowing every time they talk to me on a weekend, they know I won't be drunk!

                    still VERY early days here - but I'd say REALLY connecting with people as I'm 'there' when I'm with them, and being honest about why I don't drink (with some friends) and the fact I don't drink, and me being accepted for me.
                    Hoping this will lead to real deep down confidence and self acceptance too.

                      Things I am loving at day 40, although still early days and I do sometimes think about having a cold wine but with nothing of the same intensity as before
                      ** Being able and WANTING to read to my young son at night without wanting to rush through so I could get back to my booze.

                      ** Being so much CALMER in EVERY challenging situation that comes my way

                      ** Dealing with my relationship breakup in a much more POSITIVE and forgiving manner

                      ** Getting things DONE that need to be done

                      **No more chewing copious amounts of MINTS

                      ** Being able to LAUGH more and wake up FRESH

                      ** LOOKING BETTER, no more puffy eyes, skin clearer, broken capillaries diminishing

                      ** liver and kidney function tests NORMAL

                      **no more checking the WASHING MACHINE for deliveries!! Now used strictly for clothes

                      ** Feeling of accomplishment without complacency

                        I no longer feel like the recycling guys are looking down on us because of all the empties in the bin(s)! I used to hide some in the trash bags (sorry, environment, but I had an addiction to hide) to get the numbers down a bit. I'm sure they just thought we entertained a lot! Right?

                          Hey Pride - I had the same paranoia with my empty bottles. My recycling bin for glass was always the fullest ( told neighbors that I entertained alot..erm..every weekend actuelly. yeah right). It overflowed so I would take some to the bank bottle to look a bit more "normal". It was a blessing when the city council told us to mix the glass with plastic and cardboard. My bin was much bigger (hurray). But then I would hear the crashing noise of the bottles when they were emptied..and mine was ALWAYS the loudest in the neughborhood.

                          Yes I love the absense of shame too!!!
