    The abbercise posse wants YOU!!

Doggygirl you workout animal! stitches and all...wow. my excuses seem pretty lame now

evenings have been pretty warm here (hi 70's I'm guessing) so we don't bike until about 7pm and it's just perfect. Late afternoon lighting up the flowers and rabbits....so peaceful.

well, tonight I'm in a darn hotel room and exhausted from driving all day. Soooo unhealthy! ick! that's the part of my job I detest are these long driving/travel days. oh, well it's just an overnighter at least, then back on the bikes with my sweetie.

Wow Mame - I LOVE your October duathlon goal. Training for that will sure give you a great event to work towards. Geez with all you've had going on - I'm sure the gym was the LAST thing on your mind the last several days. Good for you getting back to it. Yes...looser clothes is worth it. LOL - the only reason that pair of pants was too big is that it's the "waistless" kind they are vanity sizing these days for Apple Orchard shaped people like me. Your comment about hot chocolate just made me want some....CHOCOLATE!!! I've been making something called Bark with Virgin Coconut Oil, Cocoa and sweetened with Stevia. It's for the Grand Purpose of working the coconut oil into my diet....but it tastes like chocolate candy treats.

Deter it sounds like the weather gets decent for your evening bike rides. I bet it's beautiful. I bet Dx loves when you call her your sweetie!! Mr. Doggy calls me that sometimes and I sure love it. Sorry you have to travel so much. I got burned out on that years ago and am VERY grateful I don't have to do it any more.

WHEE!!! Stitches be danged - back to a full workout today and the Sekwet Komputer says 450 calories burned. I think this Komputer exaggerates, but hopefully I can see where I'm at from a relative standpoint at least. It is HU-MID here today, so it sure felt like a good workout. The bummer for the day was that I got NO putts in the hole for the Red Team. But we DID win the Word in a word game last week. LOL I like the silly games like bean bag toss and even golf which I totally suck at more than the "intellectual" type games like word in a word. Looks like everyone is having so much fun that we are going to keep the team challenge going for the summer. WHEE!!! It really is a lot of fun added to the exercise.

OK - OFF THE :sofa: ABBERCISERS!!!!! :b&d: It's a beautiful AF day to get your abbercise done early!!!

well, I had a dreadfully unhealthy day. tons of driving in the car in bumper to bumper traffic and even ate at a fast food drive through which I never do. ick! I need to drink some draino now!

AACKK Deter. Is your travel schedule always this bad???? No wonder you drank a lot. I hope a cushy promotion or something like that is in your near future!!!! Bet you are glad to be home with Dx - hope you have some enjoyable weekend plans.

Word in a word is basically like scrabble - our team was assigned a long and silly word, and we had to list other words using those letters. The words had to be at least 4 letters long, and of course more points for longer words. Our word was "secularizes." LOL it took our team 2 days before we realized that "secularize" was a pretty obvious and big point scoring word choice. I still can't believe we won that particular game! We are definitely sucking at putt putt golf though. Or I should say that *I* am sucking at it.

BUT....today was a really good workout. Eville Sekret Komputer says 495 calories burned. I really pushed HARD today. It feels good! I'm going to work out again tomorrow - that will be an 80% day (I'm coming to enjoy those as relaxation almost!!). Then Sunday will be my day off.

Caysea you are really having an effect on my brain. As I was working the circuit today, I kept imagining with each repetition that I'm transforming myself physically and mentally from the inside out. (now we just have to wait and see what sort of creature I turn into!)

          Go Abbercisers!!!! :b&d:

            Hi All
I am sure everybody is still going strong in their workout program.I over did it last week, and after my Friday workout decided to take the weekend off from tennis .My wife and I had friends stay over and had a great time doing daytime activities.A little bike riding in the AM [hangover free ] and then lite kayaking on the bay in the afternoon.Right now my thoughts are on next weeks workouts. It is such a difference from those earlier weeks of never ending mind games with cravings and drinking. For me I am realizing more and more that physical activity is a key to fighting this battle

HELLO HEllo Hello hello....there is an echo in here!!! Hopefully everyone is so busy abbercising they don't have time to post about it!

Caysea, it sounds like you got involved in some FUN physical activities with your wife and friends this weekend. Good for you!! I still feel like on some level I'm in the "early weeks" where there is still quite a mental game going on with me and AL. (I'm winning though!!) BUT...I am quite convinced that exercise is a HUGE help in this battle. I sure don't think of drinking AT ALL before, during, and for quite some time after exercise - I'll take that reprieve!! I also find myself enjoying the workout which I could NOT do with a hangover - not to that degree anyway.

Today the Eville Sekwet Komputer pushed me hard, and I felt like I struggled to stay in the green. But after all was said and done, the Sekwet Komputer gave me very positive feedback overall about my workout (got the "green" for all muscle groups!! Yeah!!), and said I burned 511 calories. WHEE!!!! I feel good!

Hope everyone else is having a :b&d: day with your workouts!!
