    Thursday 19 June

    Morning all,

Sun is shining, my cold is going and I have recovered from yesterdays antabuse mishap, so all in all the world is a wonderful place.

Also somehow I find myself at day 50. Feels good.

Got to rush to work but hope everyone is feeling as good this morning as I am.

    Catch you later

    Morning all,

glad to hear you so chipper Loppy. Great on 50 days!

I'm 6 weeks today (not really counting, but just noticed it on my calendar)-- and I am at least sleeping fantastically. I hardly need any of my sleep aids anymore. I cut out the valerian and cut the melatonin in half and still I'm out like a light and snoozing until the alarm rings (and often after-- but that's an old habit it's just too hard to break... hence my alarm is set for 1/2 hour before I really have to get up! How silly.) Oh how I love a good night's sleep, though.

I hope you all have a great day!

      Good Morning Abbers!!

Thanks for the warm fuzzy feelings Loppy, I will need all I can get as I plow through another busy day at the office.

It is so great to see these AF days piling up for everyone here.

Beatle, if only I knew how great the sleep would be AF, I would have quit much sooner!

Have a great AF day everyone!!

        Morning all
I used my nightly drinking as a "sleep aid" for many a year......My first week of being AF was horrible sleep wise, but expected. I then did the melatonin for about 3 months and much to my surpriseit worked. I was getting concerned that yet again I was relying on something else, so decided to quit the melatonin and let the chips fall where they may, expecting the worse.....I am sleeping like a rock...Ah yes, If I had only known (probably not!!)
        A good day to all

Char: One of my main reasons for the onset of my alcoholic drinking was the drinking at night to sleep. It started many years ago, & I doubted I would ever get a night's sleep wo/alcohol. I've found out that I can...not every night, but many nights out of the week. Additionally, alcohol-induced sleep isn't really restful sleep for me. It's a sweaty, heart-pounding few hours of interrupted sleep, followed by a hangover. Have a great day everyone. Mary

Hi all - have been away for 10 days - only had access to the work computer so - was wary about logging in. Today should have been day 50AF for me - but I had 2 glasses of wine at a concert last night - I didn't plan it - was my big 4-0 bday and I'm not comfortable with whether that's a decent excuse. I did start the day with a 6:30am kickboxing class, so was really disappointed with my choice later on.

Sorry I'm down in the dumps today about it - my mind is racing.

Hey Doglvr.. boy I can relate I had a wine slip a few days back and had to start my 30 over and I'm still beating myself up but everyone here is telling me to STOP IT, the point is that we keep trying!! look where we'd be if we weren't trying. The daily challenge can be so tiring but boy this site is sure helpful. Hope you can get access to a computer off work time sometime soon so you can spend more time.. Hang in there.
And boy do I remember waking up in the middle of night with my heart racing thinking what a stupid idiot I am for drinking so much. ?The sweatiness I thought were night sweats from perimenopause but I'm not sure now.?? I need to stay AF so I can find out if the night sweats come back on their own. What a great reason to stay sober,.
May our choices today not result in regret, but rather be wise
