    Drinking Thinking

    Well done!

    Great job, Janice!

I'm afraid I can't share the same success or strength of mind as you so I really applaud your foresight to jump right back on. I had been AF for 90 days and moderated well for about 6 months. Unfortunately I saw the slippery slope and chose to ignore it - I even stopped coming here as I didn't want to stop! - many reasons and excuses, but same end-result - right back to square 1. So today is the day I face up to it and start again. So impressed that you were able to stop at the top of that slope. Well done!

I am glad I found this thread, because it describes my experience. I kind of expected that if modding wasn't going to work, I would have fallen flat sooner. But now I am with Janice, staying AF because modding didn't work for me, and I WILL NEVER go back to where I was.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Janice , you are truly inspirational. I don't think I will ever be able to mod I have tried many times and it hasn't worked for me. For a while maybe but not long. It is great that you recognized your change in thinking early and did something positive about it. I applaud you. I would probably be making my excuses over and over again until I had reached rock bottom.
