    BOOZE BUSTERS Week of 8/11 (A)bsolutely (F)abulous (H)angover (F)ree 30 Day Challenge

So....what do you all like on your pizza? And since I know you are all really really super nice people whose momma's raised you right, you will want to do something really nice for me by way of a hostess gift. Since a bottle of wine is out of the question, how about some jewelry? I'm not too particular what kind of gem stones are in it, so long as they are the real mcoy and VEREE large. Marshy, thank you for this nice suggestion!! Are you going to bring gym boy as your date???????? (I'm sure everyone will get some enjoyment out of your eye candy!!)

Greenie, thank you for the compliment. I am SO proud of you for kicking AL to the curb. I know you are dealing with difficult problems but I've got to think things are easier now than when you were drinking?? You sure sound a whole lot happier! (even though divorce sucks - no gettin' around that.

"Ricing" is just putting raw cauliflower florets in a food processor with the S blade and running it just long enough (not long!) until the pieces of cauliflower are about the size of rice. Then you can cook it and use it sort of like rice in some recipes. Or make pizza crust with it.

louise, I here ya on the challenge of All One and the taste and the Thyroid meds. I've taken to making a protein shake (whey protein - no soy) - but now I do it in the evening after dinner, and I only make 1/2 a shake. I use lots of crushed ice so it sort of comes out milk shake consistency. It has become my "dessert" in the evening. Solves the thyroid med conflict problem, gives me a healthy dessert, and keeps me from having to choke it down with tomato juice in the AM like the old days! I do believe in the stuff though.

sothankful I'm sorry you are feeling bad!!!! I hope by now you ARE in bed with some soup. And good for you kickin' Booze Beast Booty!!!!!

OK - I can't believe the Men's all around was YESTERDAY and I still haven't seen a bit of it. I am now going to the Russian Web feed to find СПОРТИВНАЯ ГИМНАСТИКА in the program listings from yesterday and see some cute muscular boys oops I mean see how Jonathan Horton did.

    Keep kickin' it!

      Argh! Just lost my post.

But, basically, my preference is for a mushroom topping, thanks DG! Did we agree on 6pm?

Very tired, need to pack for my trip tomorrow.

Hey WIP, welcome onboard. I also like the calm on this thread, as well as the determination to kick AL's butt.

      Keep kicking, everybody.

Have a good trip Pamina. I forget, Where are you going? Thanks for suggestion of how to take the all-one DG. As I read it I realized I had not had it again today so went and made a shake. Of all the supplements, that is the one I most notice a difference in how I feel with it. Hope you are feeling better soon Sothankful. Hi Marshy and WIP and everyone else. I'm off to bed.

Mmmmm I can't wait to try that pizza crust.. I like cauli mashed taters. Think I'll sneak the crust and see what my kids have to say after they eat it.

If I bring some fresh mozzarella, organic heirloom tomatoes, olive oil, fresh parm. and fresh basil can I come too...? I'll also bring some roasted olives with lemon and orange rind...

I got some of the fruit allone, it has more calcium in it, 100%! Tastes better and it doesn't have that "smell". I drink mine every morning in fresh carrot juice. ( I love carrot fresh carrot juice) Although drink isn't the actually action, more like one long chug...drinking did teach me something that I will use every morning... I also chug 1 1/2 t. liquid chlorophyll with a little water, actually dont mind the taste of that. Along with my morning supps and workout it keeps me going til lunch....o.k. I do also have french pressed coffee, nice and thick...about 12 oz. but I do put soy milk in it!

Hope you're feeling better sothankful, good job getting that rest.

          oh....hostess gift.......for you doggygirl

Gratitude and Love 47 days AFHF for me.

BTW, I had drinking dream last night - this time a 'temptation' one rather than 'warning' ones that I've previously had. Isn't it odd what an impact dreams have on us? There's often talk of them around the site. So I felt a bit wobbly this morning and have popped an Antabuse. Haven't felt the need for one for about a month now but I thought it might be a wise move today. Now I'm covered! Friday night: bring it on!

mwo2 that was a LOVELY hostess gift, good heavens, I must have you over soon! Louise, I actually HAVE some of the fruit All One, just have been dutifully plowing through the original canister of the regular, and not happy about it at all... must get out the "fruit" one! Marsh, I am on your side of the fence, re: gym girls vs. gym boys, perhaps we can share stories. I am happily single... but not necessarily committed to it. Got a load of tasks to do today to keep getting ready for fall semester, must do a little online course, and pass a TEST (!) in that FERPA crap, the student privacy red tape US governmental regulations that now envelop universities (all schools, I guess), I suppose there is some good intent behind it but GAWD what a hoo-rah. AND, of course, my mother is raising hell and causing trouble and who knows what the hell will happen next, with her.

                Happy weekend, all!

                  BOOZE BUSTERS Week of 8/11 (A)bsolutely (F)abulous (H)angover (F)ree 30 Day Challenge

TGIF Booze Busters!!!! Well, I'm happy it's Friday anyway. And as is the case nearly every week, I am mighty jealous of Mame who is already on to Saturday. Hope you are having a good one Mame!

Pamina, 6pm on Sunday it is!! Especially since mwo2 has stepped up with that totally rockin' diamond encrusted hostess gift oops I mean lovely pizza toppings. And we will definitely have mushrooms. Lots of 'em.

louise, glad that shake idea worked. Your comment about noticing the difference in how you feel hit home. Haven't really thought about this in awhile, but I was REALLY a physical mess when I first came to MWO in July 2007. Among the various issues, I had pain in several joints, and a pain in my left foot that had me limping most of the time. As I went AF and faithfully chugged my All-One back then, the pain in my foot especially got better quickly. I was convinced at the time that the All-One had something to do with it. I'm sure stopping with the poison all day long didn't hurt either. So I'm with ya on the All One!

mwo2, in addition to your fine taste in jewelry, would you pretty please tell us more about those roasted olives?? I love olives. I think you and Deter should start a Abbers Gourmet Cooking Show thread. Beware you will have to give very precise instructions as I can barely spell gourmet. (in fact now I'm wondering if I spelled it right). Let me know what the kids think of that pizza. If Mr. Doggy eats something made of cauliflower, it's in a pretty good disguise. Congrats on 47 AF days!!! Almost 1/2 way to 100. You go girl!!

Marshy, thank you and wip for clarifying the type of eye candy that appeals to you. This will better help us old married people be on the lookout for good prospects. The woman at Curves who manages the place in the afternoon / evenings is the only person I know of there who regularly bangs out 600 calorie workouts on the circuit. I don't see her often as she is rarely there in the am's. But when I do, I shall think of you!!

Marshy those dreams can be very unsettling when they seem "real" rather than over the top silly. Good for you taking an Antabuse, and just taking AL off the table for today. GREAT strategy to start the weekend!!

WIP - LOL as I was reading your posted I made a note "FERPA crap??" And then you went on to explain that it is some government red tape or other. That's enough info for me. Our tax dollars hard at work yet again. Is your on-line test a FERPA crap test? And sorry to hear about your mother. :egad: You have your hands full! Congratulations on 25 days AF.

Does everyone have a good weekend AF plan together? Dog training is really not a big deal for me any more. I've got some Sharp's in the fridge right next to the Budweiser, and if the spirit moves me I will have a Sharps or two. Or maybe not. Last week I didn't even want an AF beer.

Funny how good that tool has worked out for me considering I haven't "liked" drinking beer since college which was oh so long ago. I waited a long time to try it due to the concern that is expressed often - will the AF stuff increase my desire for the real deal. I'm just glad that in my case it didn't make me want the real stuff - in fact the opposite is true. If I crave in a social situation, the AF beer really takes those thoughts off my mind and I move on to whatever is going on with the people. And it seems the novelty has worn off a bit too - I don't think about having an AF beer very often. I WAS quite a wine drinker (not a con-a-sewer of course....a volume cheap wine drinker!) The AF wines just don't taste good to me at all. So when you all come for pizza, you are welcome to finish up what's in the fridge in that department!!

My Sunday plan is the same as last Sunday - in the easy chair with a blanky and the TV. Well, until our Can You Believe It's Cauliflower Pizza Party.

Well, I slept in today (I haven't set an alarm in ages) after a later night than usual of Michael Phelps Swimming Extravaganza Oops I Mean Olympics viewing (can you tell I'm weary of the Phelps non-stop coverage???). So I gotta get my calm and happy AF ass to Curves!

Here's to calmly KICKING AL'S BOOTY!!!! Happy AF weekend all Booze Busters!!

Morning all! Sat morning here and a blue sky overhead. I dont think it is going to last for long though - we have had lots of thunder/lightening/hail for the last week. However, signs of spring are there and this week it was still light when I left work!!!

I've kept having early nights and a generally quiet time all week. It has been really nice! Last night we sat on the couch with a DVD and a bucket of triple chocolate ice-cream - very restorative!!

I have a sad thing to do today - after much soul searching my cat is going to be put to sleep tonight. Have done lots of weeping about it over the last day or too, but I have now processed all of that and feel sure that I have made the right decision. She is in so much pain and she is really old. (I read somewhere yesterday that there are six cat years for every human year, which makes her into her 90s!) So today my only priority is spending lots of time cuddling her ......

Looking forward to I Cant Believe Its Not Pizza for breakfast on Monday morning!

Kriger, congrats on Day 11. Now that cauliflower pizza crust isn't exactly "dough." It's more like "goo." Takes some getting used to but if one is trying to keep the carbs low, it's pizza.

Wip I love your new avatar. Where on earth do you guys find these?

Mame, I'm glad you have been taking it easy but I'm PO'd that you didn't share the ice cream with me. () I am SO SO sad for you and your kitty. I'm sure you have made the right decision from everything you have described, but also because I just feel from knowing you a little, you would be very wise about knowing when the time has come. There are no words. I've faced that twice and had to go through with it once. Mr Doggy and I love them so much and we will always have them so it will happen again, and that's the part of pet ownership that I hate. But they give us so very much, don't they? I will be thinking of you over the weekend knowing how much you already miss kitty.

I'm gonna go snuggle up with my old beagle and appreciate the simple things in life.

Nighty night all!! Hope you had a great Booze Bustin' day are are ready to kick AL to the curb this weekend.

thanks for all your thoughts .... I had a lovely last day with puss! She has been a lovely companion for a long time and I will miss her but her time had come. I have done lots of processing about it all and I wont bore you all with the details! But it has all been good and I was very pleased to deal with it all AF!

We followed up the triple chocolate ice-cream last night with tiramasu tonight!! DG - maybe you could just share the calories with me????!!

Life is getting back to how I like it - quiet and uneventful! And I'm all done with the "its all about me" times ........... I have a very strong sense of having turned the page/crossed the crossing/ got around the corner etc etc. Onwards and upwards!

I've been finding it hard to get onto the site over the last couple of days, but have worked out that it is a problem with our ISP (we've been put back to dial-up speed instead of the up-grade we have paid for!). It is going to take 10 days for a new cable to be installed, so if I'm not here it is because I get sick of waiting 5 minutes for a page to load .......!!
