Marshy, thank you for thinking of me today! And thank you Zeppie, Amelia and O2M for your kind words. ANd O2M your poems ROCK.

For whatever reason, I've really been looking forward to this milestone. When I quit smoking, it seems that 100 days was a bit of a turning point - things seemed to get easier and I thought about smoking less and less, and also less intensely, from that point forward. I'm hoping AL is a bit like Nic in that regard.

I am so happy to have AL out of my life. When I was laying in bed last night I was thinking about one of my favorite sayings that I stole () from Kevin at Woofmang - "Nothing in life is so bad that smoking/drinking won't make it worse." I really did try to think of SOMETHING where smoking or drinking (or both) couldn't possibly make the situation worse. Even if I was laying on my death bed with a terminal illness, I can see where smoking / drinking could STILL make things worse - i.e. making my state of mine worse for myself and loved ones.

I know that might seem a bit morbid for a celebration thread so on to brighter things!! I FEEL GREAT TODAY!! And I hope all of you do too.

Thank you for celebrating with me! The bonds we develop on this journey are precious.

Thank you Seen!! (cross posted) Yes, I really was struggling in March. I was having difficulty truly accepting the fact that I can't drink - at all - ever. I had to get my head around the idea that sobriety is a gift that comes with many, many good things. It's not "giving up" anything except hangovers, embarrasing moments, relationship problems, and all that jazz. I finally got sick of it.
