BOOZE BUSTERS 30 Day AF Hangover Free Challenge - Week of 9/1/08!

    Hi DG
Thanks again for your help - i've also got a lot of excellent support tonight from my own thread "new-in need of encouragement" and i've made it through the evening AF. I very very very nearly caved in but didnt'. This MWO community really helped - without it I know I would have drunk tonight.

BOOZE BUSTERS 30 Day AF Hangover Free Challenge - Week of 9/1/08!

          Hi All

Made it to day 7 AF yesterday, looking forward to continuing this week. I had a few times over the weekend thinking about alcohol, but managed to say "what do I want to do that for". As I have said in previous messages, I have been here before, but for various reasons, fell down after 40 days on a few occasions. But this time my head seems to be with it(so far). I know what it's like being sober, and what's it's like being out of it, and not being part of what is going on at home. The only argument(in fun) my husband and I have at the moment is I normally pass out by 9.30/10.00 p.m. so he has had control of the tv remote control, but now I am awake he has to share!! I know it is early days, but I hope this continues. Good luck to all abbers for another week.

BOOZE BUSTERS 30 Day AF Hangover Free Challenge - Week of 9/1/08!

            Hi All booze Busters,
yep i made it to 7days af for me and feeling really proud of myself, busy weekend took my son to a skateboard competition on saturday, they have a internet room so thought i could be on here saturday but the room was locked up, on one was allowed in.ull . so from 11 to 6pm watching skateboarding it was good and i did enjoy myself. No for me in the morning one of my clients i do is in hospital and the other client i do did not feel comfortable in his presents started saying how he get these urgers inside him not AL urge., and wanted to tell me his dreams but not yet, he is over 80years old this guy well the last time i visit him he double lock his door. did not feel safe at all so i reported this to the office can you believe it he was reported before. because they let someone else go into his flat. (me) lol. I think he is of how agency list now thank god!

            well done to everyone .

like to share a story with you guys i have told the firework 30days thread that i been on there since i have come here so they know the back ground of my brother and i think i told you bits and pieces about me and my sister trying to help him out e.g controlling his money at the moment.

Well here goes!, my brother, well a few weeks ago he went to church because the reverend that takes the mass has help my brother in the past and visit him when he was inside. He is a very nice reverend his been round my house and we have had a good chat so he knows me well but does not know about my drinking not sure if he can see through me. Anyway my brother was in church and this guy stood next to my brother well this guy really smell of booze's he keep asking my brother questions i can remember my brother telling me this because he got a bit paranid about it all. My brother told him that he is a alcholic so the guy put some mints in his mouth. my bother left mass straight away as soon as it was finish, but the reverend did give my brother a funny look as if to say who is that next to you.
im not sure weather my brother told the reverend that he did like this guy coming into mass smelling of AL. i remember my brother saying of all the people to stand next to it had to be him. NOW the interesting part... i got a miss call and txt by the reverend yesterday saying that he has got good news for my brother well im thinking maybe his got a job on the line for him. Told my brother to ring the reverend well could not believe it when my brother rang me yesterday saying that this guy has left a cheque for a few thousand pounds for my brother to clear his debt because he felt sorry for my brother. My brother told the reverend that he will not except it because he said that he is still a alcoholic and believe's that he made his bed so he should lay in it. my brother said the reverend wants to talk to me, but will not do nothing behind my brother back. maybe this guy could be a secret millionaire, i do love watching that program. Wow thats my story for today!
Hope i have not bored you all to tears!

            Take Care ALL:l

BOOZE BUSTERS 30 Day AF Hangover Free Challenge - Week of 9/1/08!

              Happy Monday Booze Busters!!!

I am SO PROUD of our 7 Day AF Booze Busters Sausage, Madi and Teardrop!! That first week can be rough and you guys DID IT!! One foot in front of the other - one step at a time - a sober life is there for the taking. And you DESERVE to be sober and enjoy all that life has to offer to the fullest.

Hi to WIP and July and all other Booze Busters!!

Teardrop it sounds like a little angel my be visiting your brother which would be wonderful!

Madi - LOL on hubby having to share the remote. Nice that you have good humor about that!

Sausage - spending lots of time here in the early days is a great strategy. Good for you keeping AL at bay over the weekend.

WIP it sounds like the situation with your mother will never really change - that is so sad for her and for you. Did you take a day off yesterday? I'm sure that IS needed sometimes for your own sanity. I hope you find a living arrangement that at least is somewhat peaceful for you! From the sound of things I don't know if your Mom will ever be at peace in this life??? Anyway - I admire you for keeping your chin up and somehow still balancing your life and moving forward while also taking care of your Mom in difficult circumstances.

I told the story of the grill on the Daily thread so won't repeat it here. What I shall miss most about never doing any business with Sears again is Lands End. Since they are owned by Sears, I won't be buying from them either and I buy more than half of me and Mr. Doggys' clothes from Lands End so Sears WILL be losing a lot more business in just a single year than whatever profit they made on that grill - not to mention years to come. The letters about that are on my to do list for today. I'm just thrilled that me and Mr. Doggy were on the SAME page and not trying to figure out how to blame each other. Sobriety is wonderful in so many ways that AL does NOT want us to figure out.

Have a great booze busting day everyone! My sobriety homework this week is to continue working on Relapse Prevention stuff to put a brick wall around that, and get my plan solidly in mind for our upcoming camping trips - will be the first time camping booze free.
