yes one2 - me too - SELLING ONLY. No buying.

And I need to get back to it too. Ebay has co-financed my life for the past 3 years - and I love it! What say we make a commitment - 5 listings today (or tomorrow?)

'67 - again SORRY for the hijack ?!?!?! but this ebay is good stuff!!

Will you post pics of your work here? If you're timid, please let us all know when you have them online so we can go to the link and see your stuff. I am an artist wanna-be!!! I really admire the work of artists.
      1967,
I have just barely come to the point of feeling like creating and saw one of those infomercials on TV for the Cricut (little cutting machine for scrapbooking). I'm not into scrapbooking but I thought I might be able to use it for other things. It spurred my interest in creativity and I have decided to MAKE Christmas gifts this year. I think I'll run out to the Hobby Lobby store to get some ideas; I am kind of excited to start a project that I would not have considered a year ago while drinking (I didn't have very much sober time to do anything!). For the last 40+ days I have done almost nothing different from when I was drinking except not drinking; I feel a bit of an awakening that you all are speaking of. It feels good.

I tried to sell a steer head on eBay but I was so drunk I couldn't do it; I was not focused enough to read the tutorial; I barely made it to the picture stage; that was a monumental ordeal. I could't figure out the mailing thing either. I was a mess and the whole thing was a disaster!!! I bet I could do it easily now!

Please forgive me -- I did not mean to refer to your art as junk... I used the term loosely...

There is another world wide site for selling art and hand crafted items:
Etsy :: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade
          The fees are very low.
Kriger, I think we are in the same time zone. I would like to chat with you sometime about your die cuts. I have the QuicKutz version. They are so cool!

need something to look forward to

                LTG,
I am in MST. I don't have anything right now....just thinking of new, creative things to do in my AF future. My DIL has gotten into scrapbooking but my goal is to try to create some Christmas gits (no ideas of what that will be yet). I'm in the thinking stage and happy to be sober and excited to start some sort of project. I used to do a lot of sewing and some needlecrafts-crewel and hooked rugs. That was a different lifetime so I need to think about what would "turn me on" now. That's why I'm going to Hobby Lobby today to get some ideas. Kriger

I love Hobby Lobby but they closed the one in Irving. Let me know what you come up with. Are you into digital photos?

I'll report bck when I get back from my trip to the store to get ideas. It's only 9:30 here and I'm still in my jammers.
LTG, I do have a digital camera and use it exclusvely now-so much easier! Sorry your Hobby Lobby closed; I bet there are other similar type options near you?? We have Michaels here-are they in TX?
Anyway, I have a new little "sparkle" today with anticipation of what I might be able to do, thanks to 1967s post!
Kriger (pardon any misspelling today-my fingernails are getting too long-off to nail tech tomorrow!)

With digital cameras you can make photos to make cards and iron ons for t-shirts or toe bags or whatever.
O2M, you could so easily sell your cards on etsy.com.
Krgier, you make Christmas cards for your gifts

WW you are so demanding. What were all these questions that you want answered?

I have only shipped 3 canvases this way and another one was on artist hardboard without frame which I shipped as a parcel. I am usually really anal about preping my canvas. One I had stretched around to the back and stapled, then I used bone glue to seal the canvas and finally a couple of coats of Gesso. That way I can make up my mind later whether to work in oil or acrylic. Someone saw the painting in my house and wanted to buy it. They had to fly home and could not take it on the plane. Shipping costs were prohibitive so I suggested to take it off the stretcher frame and send it in a roll. I used that sticky type of saran wrap on the surface and then rolled it loosely and placed it in a cardboard roll. It was fine when it got there but it was a bitch to get all these staples out.

I had a lot of my stuff in the photo gallery for over a year and then decided I was hogging too much space and took them down. Not 2 weeks later my puter crashed and I lost the better part of my portfolio. Now I'm begging everyone to look through their archives to send my pics back to me and I have no record of anything I did before I got a digital camera.

I have to share this story as well.
Money is always an issue as you artists out there already know. So I decided to buy a miter saw and henceforth make my own stretcher- and picture frames. First I thought myself the art of gilding and then I made stretcher frames. That worked pretty good. Next I painted my pic and then measured to make a frame with frame moulding that I had ordered especially and that was not cheap.

Long story short: I had to make 5 perfectly good frames before I produced one that actually fit my picture. I looked at the pile of assembled frames and collapsed in a heap onto the sawdust. I couldn't stop laughing - I was in hysterics. Our neighbor who cannot speak came up to my husband and pointed up at my studio and then tipped his finger to his temple asking if I was o.k. I haven't lived that one down yet.
Talk about false economy. Anyway, I thought that was funny.
