    October Abbercise challenge

OMW - Your post sent me into a fit of laughter!! I have experienced the exact same thing from my canine friends!! I HATE sit ups, and yet my middle area is my biggest trouble spot. Go figure!! I've resolved to include an ab workout with each gym session. Actually, it's more focusing on obliques. I'm doing those side bends on that aparatus that you just stand up on at a tilt and do side bends. Know what I'm talking about? I'm starting mildly: 25 on each side and 25 in the middle. As I see progress from that, I might include more ab work.
GREAT NEWS - After 3 weeks of no alcohol and one solid week of working out, I have lost 2 pounds. YAAAAYYYY!!!! Very motivational for me. For the first in preparing for a race, I am including muscle workouts. I work my arms out on the machines 2x a week and my legs 2x a week. I'm anxious to see the difference it makes in my running workout.
Happy Monday to everyone and thanks for everything!! :-)

Alright team….we’ve tapered off a bit. Or at least I have. I did nothing on Tues and Wed but not by choice. Today I ran 4 miles while having a major allergy attack. I have itchy E.N.T. and a load of snot…sorry. We live in farm country and the soy beans are being taken in, lots of shiz in the air.

I would really appreciate it if any of you would remind me to do my sit ups. You do not have to be nice about it either!

      Be well my friends!

Not posted for a few days but have been exercising - yesterday (thurs) did a 3mile run. Won't be able to exercise over the weekend as my husband is away and no-one to look after the kids whilst I exercise , although will be generally kept very active out and about with them!!

Okay, I've been a slacker!! Took yesterday off, and due to a sick child (what is it with our sick children this time of year!!!), did not make it to the gym today. Thought I could run on my treadmill while baby takes a nap, but then decided I could use a nap. I also figured, Monday is starting my 12 week training program. Why not take a break while I can?
Tonite the hubby and I are going out for date night. Looking forward to a good steak dinner, not to mention the ability to enjoy it without the glass of red wine. The glass of red wine with it sounds good, but I have to focus on the big picture. I'm too close to my 30 day goal to give up now.
          Everyone enjoy their day!
          P.S. NAT DON'T FORGET YOUR SIT-UPS!!!!!! :-)

Been somewhat of a slacker lately too. Did nothing this weekend but eat shi* food and I feel bloated. I ran 3 miles last night at soccer practice, that's a start, no sit-ups though. MM, I missed your post when I caught up Sunday night. Hope the date night was good and kiddo better.
I am going to break out the kick boxing video tonight and try and get my kids involved.

            Happy trails, nat

              Hi all
Not been able to exercise over the weekend as husband away and no-one to look after kids. Been swimming tonight - about 40 lengths (25m pool). Feel much better for it.

This is a group I want to join!

Count me in! Great idea. My fourteenth day AF. Joined a gym and had an appt. with one of the instructors, who showed me how to use the machines in a circuit for a full-body workout and then wrote it all down.

Hey readytotry!! Welcome. We might not all post every day, but we do randomly post about our exercise. So join in on the motivation!!
I'm now on day 3 of my 12 week training. I've been doing really good and my workouts feel great. Today I ran almost 5 miles at a steady pace. Since I will be out of town the next few days, I'll probably fall behind a little bit. But that's okay. I'll jump back in as soon as I get back.
                  Everyone stay strong.
                  Nat don't forget your situps!!!
                  Ciao

                      October Abbercise challenge

Ran an approx 3.5 hilly cross country route near my home in my personal best time since my surgery, this am. Am feeling fitter although don't feel like I did when I used to run my marathons pre-children five plus years ago. Still want to lose another 14lbs ideally, this should make things easier. Still feel "overweight" although have lost at least 10lbs in last 3 months. I do feel better and better after each run ie my recovery time is getting quicker and I'm still getting faster. Have no idea how I ever managed to do 26.2 miles in the past though !!
                      Keep it up everyone !

Completed a 56 minute run this am - felt good - not particularly fast but felt I could have run for longer. This is the longest run I've done since my surgery. Feeling a bit more positive about doing a marathon again some day! Still a long way to go though!!

Good Job Saus!! I had an awesome run this morning too. It felt great. I'm really getting psyched about this 1/2 in January. The way I've been feeling with my runs lately, I think I'm going to be able to challenge myself more in this race and get a better finish time. My last 1/2 was 2:30. I'd love to shave off 20-30 minutes. It's still too early to tell, but my motivation is strong. I've also continued to track my caloric intake on Livestrong.com and it's made a tremendous difference in my food intake. In the last few weeks, I've lost 3 pounds. Tomorrow's my rest day. Yaaay! I have lots of energy, but I know my rest days are just as important as the workout days. Keep the updates coming :-)

Been swimming this am - 30 mins hard swim - about 40 lengths of 25m pool, some with float between knees to work upper body, some holding kick board to work legs. tommorow will be a rest day as I work Monday and bythe time i've put kids to bed I will be too tired and you need some days off in a week anyway don't you . I aim to exercise at least 4 days a week - on a brilliant week 5.

                              Keep it going everyone

Well, I did not post my last few days and looks like I am not alone there.

Yesterday, I ran 3.5 miles and took mini man to school in his rig (on my bike) 6 miles...up hill there and into the wind on the way back......haha. Going to try and run this morning but it's 32 deg and breezy. I am having a difficult time getting out the door.
