    November Abbercise...just do it!

    Hi All
    Nice day in Florida for a bike ride.Went out with my wife we were going to do the 35 mile ride but arrived late so joined the group doing the 15 mile loop.It was a nice event put on by our local bike club.The club had rides set up from 15 mile's up to the century distance which is 100 miles.I have done a century in the past but will have to put a lot more time in the saddle to get back to that distance.For now it is just enjoying the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and learning moderation in my life.{not drinking that has to be AF history has taught me}.

      Hi all,

      Det - you might want to get that checked ...... I did something like that a couple fo years ago over-exerting myself lifting something that wasa too heavy for me and did something to a blood vessel at the back of my eye. It sorted it self out quite quickly though.

      OMW - how nice of you to remember about the tri! (except a duathlon - too cold to swim in the sea here for another month or so yet!) ..... but no I didn't do it - got waylaid by a friend's death, and twisting my knee badly which put the kybosh on running for a while.

      and didn't make it to the gym this morning - I'd fogotten uncle mame needed the car today, but I got up and went for a 40 minute fast walk at 6:30am and it was beautiful. I've taken my bike into work so that I can ride at lunchtimes which will be nice.

      MM thanks for the tip on the Livestrong site - I've been tracking mine manually but there is always a bit of guess work involved!!!

        hang in there sausage...we've all slipped. i have a pretty checkered past, get back to it, you'll be fine.

          I am heading to the treadmill.....or should I walk outside, while it's still nice? Hmmm.....maybe I will do that......

              Guess what guys......I DID IT!!!!! I went outside and walked for about 40 mins! How wonderful!!!! Now I have to go to work.......

                Hi All
                Got in an early AM workout with the weights.Light wgt higher reps felt good to get back into the lifting.I am cross training to balance the cardio with lifting.Will go out this evening for an easy bike ride.The course is a 15 mile loop along the gulf of Mexico.I have cut back from daily tennis with the idea of working in more of a balance between my physical activities.

                  welcome peace - it makes a huge difference if you have exercised in the past I reckon! My body still has fond memories of being able to run for a couple of hours at a time, even if it refuses to take me out for more than a slow trot these days!

                  Christy - well done!

                  Caysea - you are spurring me on!

                  Made it to the gym this morning ....... 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer and 15 mins weights. And even made it into work just after 8am!! What a virtuous way to start the morning!!

                    Hi everyone,

                    I NEVER ever thought I would post here, really.. I've scrolled past a few times, never daring to peek in as I was soooo not into exercise. But I am happy to report, I am a swimmer now!!! Yep, almost every night for a week now. An hour a night with my son. He is lovin it, and so am I. Even went as far as to join the local club...OMG! Me? really? I even have a gym bag. Woohoo!!!

                    Day 7 AF Feeling Great!!!

                            A lot of us have been involved in sports and working out so it is something for us to go back to.I feel though that members like you who maybe didn't exercise are the one's who will benefit the most.The reason I say that is because you are doing a real lifestyle change and stepping out into a new world .Their comes a time when it is not about stooping drinking because you have. Then living a sober and a healthy lifestyle becomes the goal. After I stopped drinking I couldn't go back to conducting my life the same way minus the al.I need to change.You are on the right track and its great you can do it with your son .Enjoy

                              You are so right Caysea,

                              It is more than just being AF, I want to be a role model to my son, I want to live longer, I DON'T want to have to go to the doctors all the time when I get older. I want to get my sorry butt off the couch and start REALLY living!!

                                Ran 4.5, did ab work ugh! and took mini man to school in the bike trailer, 6 mi. So when is the jelly dough-nut going away??
