    November Abbercise...just do it!

Sunday morning went on a 40 min run (cross country) felt great - the easiest run I've had in 5 yrs. Since I resumed running seriously in Sept 6 months after my hysterectomy it's previously alwyas felt like hard work and i've not felt very fit . This was the first time i've felt this good running since I was running seriously before my children were born, when I didn't drink much. I know if i'd had even just a couple of glasses of wine last night I wouldn't have been able to run like that. I've now got Mon and Tues off as my husband went away this lunchtime as he has to work away for 3 days, returns early Wed evening hopefully ( no-one to look after the kids to let me out in evenings to exercise while he is away) , so am hopefull I will be able to go out for a swim Wed night.
Have a good AF day everyone!

Well, y'all are doing just GREAT!! Sausage.... what can I say? What a difference!

I have upped my "required minimum" on the spinner from 10 min. per day to 15 min. per day with one day off a week. I am trying not to get my "required minimum" so high that it will end up creating a situation in which I am discouraged.... but I need to raise it once in a while so I feel a bit more challenged. Anyhow... it feels good. One of these days I'll jump back on my treadmill for some variety; I can't run (knees) but walking uphill is great stuff!

Sausage - wow, I'm impressed!! I'm feeling a little demotivated - despite being really good with exercise and food I have yet to shift more than 2kgs .....:upset:

I've just come back from a bike ride - this was another psychological barrier broken! I've got two bikes ... and very comfortable but slow one which I use for round town and going tot he local shops ....... and a fast, scary one that I use for my triathlons. I have't used it for a year because it always takes me a bit of time to be able to build up my confidence on it again. Anyway, I did it today ...... not a huge ride but enough to get past the starting line and remember how to change the gears!!! Got up really early this morning so I could head out on the roads with no traffic!

          November Abbercise...just do it!

Ran 3 miles and did ab work. Have I mentioned I hate ab work????

Aunty M, I know what you?re talking about when you get back on the road bike. I feel like I will fly over the handle bars?impale myself on the tri bars or worse. I am very afraid of running over acorns, rocks and small rodents. Once a squirrel ran between my wheels as it crossed the road, I was doing about 20mph at the time.

Happy NZ summer time!! snow on the ground here:upset:

          Happy trails all!! nat

            Ouch!!

Potholes are my big bug bear .......... and the quiet roads have lots of them. The main roads are good but the car drivers are dreadful.

My husband was back tonight after 3 days away so I was able to leave him with the kids and finally escape for a bit and did a good hard 25 mintue swim - not sure how many lengths, but really pushed myself.

Sausage, glad you had a nice swim...it's a great release, I totally understand the escape.

I ran 4 yesterday and will try again for today. I pulled something in my back while running yesterday and it makes me a bit nervous. I'm going for it any way.

                have a great day abercisers

                  November Abbercise...just do it!

Been to the gym for a good workout this afternoon - not done as much exercise as I would have liked this week, with my husband away a lot and my little boy has had conjunctivitis and couldn't attend nursery on Thurs so I didn't get my long run in.

Hope to do more exercise (run or swim) tomorrow.

OMW, I'm hoping your back is OK today? Way to go, Sausage!

I am pretty well established again on my spinning routine. Starting out with low expectations is extremely helpful to me. Now I am doing at least 15 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, and have cranked up the tension on the wheel, a tad. When I am re-starting after a layoff, I usually just set a standard of 10 minutes per day of whatever... usually spinning or brisk walking... 5 or 6 days a week. That gets me back into the routine, feeling better about myself, and knowing that there is something beneficial going on in my brain/body. After a couple of weeks of that, I step up the standard somewhat... but not too fast, or it backfires on me!

This thread is a good reminder and support!

Just did my first 30 minute walk in - I can't remember - lterally. Have gotten so lazy - but I did it! The family thought they needed to send out the search dogs because it's been that bad.

                      Yeah! Small steps ....

Weather awful here today - bitterly cold, rain / sleet. Couldn't face going for a run ( yes, I know truly commited people would have done!!) so I went swimming instead - about 35 lengths including some with kickboard, float etc working legs / upper body alternately, to make it harder on myself!

Not feeling too well tonight. Tues night would normally exercise but dont' feel up to it - coming down with something viral I think - sore throat, achy legs, shivery. Early night for me!
