MAE ALL...well it was snowing when I got up this morning and apart from switching back and forth between rain & snow it's still coming down. Everything will freeze tonight, hope I can get the car door open in the morning. LOL We are still under a snowfall warning,

Mick...geez, after reading Lav's post I'm not sure the angina pills are the answer. At one point didn't they take him off all his meds and he improved? Hope they can sort it out soon. I don't think I've tried to upload anything on the new site yet. Maybe as they work out the kinks it will get more straight forward. Hope the door installation was a success.

Slo...I'm still waking up through the night as well, but managing to get back to a couple of hours sleep each time. If I'm awake at 4 I just give up and wait for the news to come on. Foot pain is the worst, you feel 100 years old instantly. Hope you can find some relief. How thoughtful of D2. I feel I need to attend the information sessions in case the City has changed something. Sent the recording to the boss and he said after your review I don't think I'll listen to it, if that's ok with me. Yup, told him I wouldn't bother, just doing my do diligence.

Lav...I'm glad you got to see your Grandsons, I didn't realize you were on the outs with your son, bipolars' can be so manipulating. Hope it gets sorted out soon. Hadn't heard about the trees in PA falling over and crushing cars, wow. Our snow is the real heavy wet stuff but is supposed to let up by Sunday, we'll have a few days of no precipitation and then apparently right back into it. I have a feeling this is going to last all month.

Shout out to everyone else. Have a good night all...PQ

mae all how are we doing? hope all is good .Well we are in the middle of 2 storms and it is sunny? bowing a hooley like but its sunny ..tomorrow is supposed to be the worse of the 2..with the threat of danger to life on it .
Door finished yesterday ..looks good ..got to leave the wood to settle for a while ..then finish the closing edges ..let it expand first.was also out yesterday morning ..got some cracking pics of birds.part exchanged one of my lenses.its a 600mm lens and its pretty light too.

hiya ppqp....how are you doing?hope all is well despite the snow.,,you had a good day at work?weekend now...phone off job done..you doing anything over the weekend?

hiya Lav how are you doing?hope all is well ...and the lamp too!!Thats pretty sad about your boy not talking to you ..especially if its his wife thats chucked it in the mix ..Im sure you'll get to the bottom of it all ..the grandsons are old enough to make their own minds up ..most of the trees around here are conifers and the ground is very clayey so their roods spread pretty wide as opposed to the narrowness of deciduous roots..yep a fair bit of rain with more to come ..The meds issue is a whole debacle ...unfortunately the medical world is full of could would should possibly may perhaps ..there arent too many will definitely and certain diagnoses ..a lot of it is probabilities and opinions . hope you have a good weekend .

hiya slo how are you ? sorry about the foot issue .is it something that will ease off in time ..the pain that is ? I hope so..Nice of your daughter that was .The main thing is look after number 1 .when that is satisfactory then consider others .hope you have a good weekend

        Hi y’all,

It’s a beautiful day here today! Finally, some sun. I was even able to ride my bike outdoors for 10-12 minutes! It felt so good to exercise! It doesn’t hurt my knee as much as the stationary bike indoors does.

I sure hope your feet will let you walk, Lav. I miss be able to take walks. My heart feels sluggish, and I am gaining weight too.

My foot pain is supposed to ease off, as the bones and soft tissue are supposed to readjust themselves to the built-up sole and the orthotic lift. I don’t know how though, as the big orthotic makes the shoe press on the top of the foot, top of the great toe, and around the heel all wrong.

I can’t believe how many trees (deciduous) fell down around here in January! The ground wasn’t frozen, and a huge, wet, heavy snowfall fell on the trees and knocked them over. Then the heavy snow in the branches froze, which caused many large limbs to break off of other trees that had managed to remain standing. I drive around and see all these beautiful, thick wooded areas that have looked the same for 30 years, that suddenly are desecrated to some degree.

Was your car frozen shut, PQ?

Your homemade soup sounds so fresh and zingy, Lav! Freshly picked, homegrown vegetables always give me a zing…maybe it’s the minerals.

I’m so glad you had time with your grandsons. Can you just invite them over sometimes, for a meal? How sad that your son is poisoned against you by his wife.

My carpet landing, if I get my nose right into it, still smells like pet poo. They are going to come back and do one more application.

I’m on my way to my daughter’s and son-in-law’s house early tomorrow morning. (I know I’ll be awake early, after all!)
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

          Good evening friends,

What an interesting day here. Started off with an earthquake this morning! I was in my laundry room, just behind my kitchen & heard a big boom. Then I heard everything in my kitchen rattling & felt the floor shake, geez. We don’t get earthquakes on the east coast very often. It was centered in northern NJ & we felt it all the way down here on the Maryland border. It was a magnitude of 4.8, not huge but big enough. The last one was in 2011 I believe, felt that one too. Haven’t heard of any local damage. Other than that it’s been sunny, cloudy, windy & chilly haha!

PQ, sure hope your car wasn’t frozen over this morning. I think you guys need a good heatwave soon.
I know it’s my DIL putting a wedge between me & my son. If I had to be honest I’d admit I am starting to wish she would just disappear somewhere. She offers nothing to the value of my family at this point. Sounds mean but it is what it is, tired of her BS.

Mick, thanks for pics earlier, doors look fabulous. Bird pics are getting better & better, good job. I hope Julie’s Dad has stabilized & they keep a watch out for falling BPs. You just never know how the elders are going to react to new medications. I got a text from the younger grandson this afternoon saying he wants to come over tomorrow or Sunday & ‘hang out’ for a while. Made my heart happy for sure. Those boys definitely know how mean their mother can be sometimes & I’ve always told them they are welcome here.
YB was driving one of his Amish customers this afternoon & a tree fell across the road 50 yards ahead of him - too close for comfort when you’re driving a truck with a trailer attached.

Slo, an outside bike ride, good for you! I’m hoping next week’s weather here will be the beginning of increased outdoor activity. The summer heat gets her way too soon then you don’t want to be out in the heat & humidity. Is it really possible for our bones & tissues to adapt after a certain age? For your sake I hope that’s true & you finally gain some comfort. I hope the carpet cleaners get the job done for you. Enjoy your time with your family tomorrow.

Cyn, hope all is well with you!
Hello to Pie & anyone else dropping by later.

          Have a nice night all!
          Lav

PS: anyone going to be looking for the solar eclipse Saturday afternoon?

MAE ALL...I couldn't believe how much snow was out there this morning. I knew it was going to snow but a foot and half! It's the heavy wet stuff and a lot of it is now mounds of slush on the roads. I guess there's more coming in tomorrow morning, hopefully not as much.

Mick...those sound like some deadly storms for you. No climbing up ladders tomorrow. Good job on getting the door done, I think we've seen pictures of it before. Swapping out the lens for a lighter one sounds like a good plan. It was like a wide down day, quiet and I got the registration program for the community garden sent out. 8 people registered within 20 minutes. Guess they want to make sure they have their spot.

Slo...isn't it nice to see the sun! Glad you were able to get out on the bike, must have felt good. Under the foot and a half of the heavy snow was a sheen of speckled ice all over the car. But I was able to get the door open. LOL By the time I'd gotten all the snow off the car had warmed enough to start melting the ice. We had sun all day today as well so most of the snow turned to slush. Have fun at your daughter's house.

Lav...thought I'd just check to see if you posted before I finished and yup there it is. I heard about the earthquake and wondered if it had affected you. Scary stuff, I've never been in one but must feel unreal. Yup I know that feeling of just wishing someone would disappear. Glad YB wasn't any closer to that tree that went down. Geez Apparently our position for the solar eclipse won't let us see much. Glad I'm not in Niagra Falls.

Waves to everyone else. Have a good night all...PQ

Hiya ppqp how are you? Sounds like you have a lot of interest in the garden project. Thats good. I am starting my tomatoes chillies this week.nope I won't be up any ladders today.

                Mae all -

What wild weather is going on for all of us. Here we are in a Fire Warning today - such a crazy notion in the early Spring, but we have had high winds recently... I hope my beloved favorite trees hang in there... sad to see a tree fall.

Lav, what a frightening story about YB driving a big load and having the tree fall! Holy Moly, Rocky. Glad that divine timing worked. I'm so sorry about DIL and turning the boys and even your son against you... that is just a terrible situation. I'm glad the boys are old enough to know better... they will stay close to you forever I think. You are their Safe Space.

Mick, all your home improvements sound great. Good job with the new lens. I hope things calm down for your FIL... meds are such a delicate issue. Hope you get some more non-rain time.

SLO - so sorry to hear your continuing pain in your foot... I'm sending good energy to you to hopefully get that worked out. What a terrible story about the neighbor and the trees!!! Cutting down trees out of spite! Yikes! I hope that you do find a new place to be... this one sounds fairly stressful...

PPQ - you are, as always, a guiding light at your workplace. Sorry about this late snow... I hope that the storm has passed and you won't have to deal with more snow... or at least no more Big Storms.

Hello to Pie and all else dropping by...

I go back and forth about keeping this job at Trader Joes... I can keep up with the physical nature pretty well now (though I am tired after my shifts, I don't have to come home and sleep for 2 hours, so that is progress.) I am so frustrated at not being good at understanding directions or being sure of processes, tired of having to interact with SO many people, doing the cash register when lines are long, etc.... it helps that the weather is better (though we are under a fire watch today?!?), I can go outside and get some sun. According to my Long-Covid therapists, I am doing so much better... they re-tested me last week, and all indications were that I have gained a good amount of ground. But somehow I don't feel it is reflected at my job. Trying not to get depressed about it.

Did I say that my Step-daughter is moving here to my home town? A radical change for that CA girl, but she is "over" all the expenses and homelessness of that state and wants to be near family. Apartment is rented - her things will be arriving the first week of May. A new chapter begins. Wishing all quiet weather and bits of peace...

                  Greetings one & all.

We had mostly sun today, windy but the temp did hit 52 degrees. No more rain in the forecast until Wednesday, I can wait Lol
I did get another section of my deck railing cleaned today but quit after that. The bleach fumes were making my dizzy & I think I’m dizzy enough without any help. My grandson did come over for a few hours today, we had lunch & had fun looking through some old boxes of his Dad’s stuff that was left behind 20 years ago. I think we both enjoyed each other’s company, it was just what I needed.

PQ, I’d return that snow, you didn’t order it, right? Haha! I hope this is the last of it for you. I’m not about to travel anywhere to get a better glimpse of the eclipse either. We will get what we get & that’s good enough. The local TV stations are advertising eclipse footage so I’ll just watch TV I guess. YB was extremely fortunate to have that tree fall where it did & not on top of his truck. Today he pushed his luck by climbing a ladder & clearing the gutters on the back of the house. I cringe when he does that especially on windy days.

Mick, the storm named after me is a real pain in the a$$, haha, sorry! I’m sure you’re pretty sick of them at this point.
When the boys are here they don’t really talk about their parents. I think they’re just looking for pleasant company & I never question them. I don’t want to add to whatever distress they may be feeling. I believe they do know they can speak to me if they feel the need. No more earthquakes today, good!

Cyn, good to see you here! I wonder if you would feel better working in a less hectic environment (wouldn’t we all??). Every time I’ve been in a TJs it’’s been crazy & way too people-y for me. I know I’m much more focused in a quieter environment. I always dreamed of working in a fabric store, my daughter says the same. It’s generally quiet & shoppers are in good moods. Hearing your LongCovid therapists reports makes me happy for you. You just need a quieter place so you can relax a bit. Having your DIL nearby will be a blessing, I’m happy for you.

Hello to Slo & Pie & anyone stopping by.
                  Have a nice night all!
