    October 20

    Good Sunday morning!

That’s a lot of beautiful land you have, Lav. Beautiful parched land. It sounds like it’s a go then for re-homing Doc?
You were a saint for doing all that babysitting for your grandchildren, while still running your own business. I prefer to babysit Huxley at their house, rather than having him wrecking mine. His toys are all there at their house too. If I were more able-bodied then it would be easier to have him here, because I could take him for walks, and take him down by the pond & such.

Young Daughter swam locally yesterday for her college (like 45 minutes away), so I was able to see her, and see her swim! And see D3, Andy, & Ayla before they head home. Then all the daughters, sons-in-laws, and grandchildren headed to ex-HB’s company picnic. I am of course not part of that anymore, even though I was for 35 years. I hung out by a lake and visited with my sister and her best friend who lives near me, and the three of us went to dinner together at Noodles & Co., to see her high school-aged daughter who works there.

Mick, your camera lens should be here soon!

Today I will enjoy a very warm, beautiful but windy day. Maybe the last warm day of the season.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

      Greetings friends,

Quiet-ish day here cooking & getting designs ready to do 3 more pillows for a friend who is one of my best customers haha!
I generally order fabrics online since there are no stores nearby & I haven’t felt like driving to a store in Delaware. So I just need one more fabric piece to arrive then I can get the 3 done. Doc had his ‘last supper’ here & has no idea what’s coming tomorrow. YB is whining a bit but he’ll get over it I’m sure. I just don’t want to risk either one of us accidentally getting really hurt by this powerful animal. He’s built to be a farm dog, he will be fine there.

Slo, I look at it this way - my grandsons got a close up view of someone at work & they seemed to understand I had to split my time between work stuff & them. They were fed well & entertained, had plenty of outside time too, Lol. Baby proofing your home can be a pain, I get that. You’re still seeing the grands pretty often & your young daughter as well. Sounds like a win to me! Dinner out with friends is a treat.

Mick, Doc has knocked both of us over - he’s pony sized now. I know he’s over 80 lbs, probably closer to 90, definitely not in control of himself yet Lol
I hope storm Ashley doesn’t cause you any problems. Christmas plans sound good. I’m not exactly looking forward to all that work, cooking, baking, shopping, entertaining. Feel like we have been there & done all that over & over.

Hello to the rest of the group & wishing a nice night for all!

MAE ALL...sorry I haven't been posting, still in a lot of pain. I will try posting in the mornings once I get mobile. It all depends on the night I've had. By the time I get home I need to get horizontal and find a position where I'm not in pain. The pain has progressed across my shoulders and neck, probably from me compensating for my arm. I see my own Dr. tomorrow for the first time this all happened so hopefully we can come up with a plan to move forward. Lav, sorry to hear Doc has got to go but I believe you made the right call. I will try to address everyone tomorrow. have a good night...PPQP

            Greetings friends,

We drove Doc to a point nearby the dairy farm he will be calling home. We handed him over to the girl who has been training him. She took him over to meet the family & reported the meeting went well. They will make their final decision tonight & let her know tomorrow. So he’s spending the night with the trainer. I really hope this works out, Doc love other dogs & they have older children so this could be the best fit for him. Sunny & dry conditions still, 80 degrees today & for the next few days. We are about to break a 100 yr record of no rain for 30 days, geez.

Mick, hope none of that storm damage was at your place. It seems to be feast or famine with rain anymore. I feel bad for the farmers around here.
We still have Matilda the beagle mix who is turning 13 in February. No more dogs needed, she was supposed to be the last one until YB let his ego get the best of him.

PQ, so sorry you’re still having so much pain. Wondering if you were casted or just placed in a sling. Maybe a new set of xrays is in order. I hope you find some comfort real soon. Thinking about you every day.

Hello to Slo, Pie, Cyn & everyone.
            have a good night all!

                Good morning!

It has been a very dry Fall here, but we did get tons of rain on the two days that I had outdoor events; an outdoor theater and an outdoor wedding. Otherwise dry!

I hope it works out for Doc, as it sounds like an ideal home for him. And he’s young enough where he will likely adapt well. Not like my (now deceased) cat Boyd who was unceremoniously yanked out of his beloved home of 15 years and never saw it again. I had wanted to have him live between the two homes for that Summer before Young Daughter left for college, but ex-HB wouldn’t allow it. I hate how we can’t warn the pets about what is coming. I have decided the same: no more pets for me.

PQ! I take comfort in knowing that you are reading along, but don’t expect that you can post more than a couple few sentences here & there. Please don’t put undue pressure on yourself at this time. Type what you can when you can, and that’s enough.

Mick, skipping Christmas! Good idea! I may not even put a tree up this year. I have a couple of light-up birch trees that I can bring up from the basement that may suffice for holiday lights.

I picked Huxley up from daycare yesterday, and stayed with him for an hour. Today I will watch him so his parents can go out for a date night.
Lav, yes, your grandsons got lots of outdoor time when you babysat them; lots of variety between active outdoor & quiet indoor time. Being with you at your house had to have a good influence on them.

I better go get the garbage out now. It’s trash day.

                  Good evening kids,

Hot here, in the 80’s today so what happened to Fall? This has been one crazy year as far as weather goes. Still no rain forecasted for us. Worked on some embroidery this aftrenoon since the house was nice & quiet. We ran out for sandwiches for dinner, didn’t know what to cook, haha!

Slo, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed re Doc but the trainer has sent a few pics of Doc seeming to be having a good time, eating, etc. I’m really OK with this because I didn’t want another huge dog. In my life. YB is adjusting & finally admitting he made a mistake - yeah. Boyd was much older when all the changes were happening in your life. I can see where that would have been a tougher situation. Glad you had some Huxley time, that’s a positive thing for both of you. I hope my grandsons remember all the time we spent together & the things I taught them like how to bake cookies, Lol

Mick, you’re still hogging all the rain buddy, haha! It’s so ridiculously dry out there, I hope my perennials survive so the can bloom again next year.
We have always had at least one dog, I can’t really imagine living without one but our ages need to be considered. Tomorrow I have to take the youngest cat in for his shots, wish me luck Lol

Btw, PQ stopped into Messenger to give us an update in her situation. She said they’re looking at possible nerve damage & is scheduled for some tests. I hope this gets sorted soon for her, nerve pain is no fun.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night.

Hello and how are we today then question mark hope everyone is doing well. I am doing this on the phone so please excuse any mistakes. It isn't raining today surprise surprise and I got out this morning with the camera. Didn't do too much because my knee is still playing me up. I'm going to give it a couple of weeks if it's no better then I'm going back to the doctor stop it isn't septic but the bursar is sore. It's like the feeling you get when skin has been burnt and also bruised

Hiva Ann was nice to see you on Facebook Messenger. I hope you get some pain relief soon.

Hiya lav how are things with you today then question mark hope all is well. It sounds like doc is enjoying his hopefully new home. No we haven't had any rain today thought we would give someone else a chance! I saw a young Fox in the field this morning beautiful red color with a white tip on the tail just like the ones you see in books none of your bin scavenging urban ones hope all went well with a cat getting its shots I have got totake the rabbits on Tuesday.

Hiya slo how are you i doing today? Hope as well with you. Have you been up to see the kids today? Definitely a birch tree from the loft will do ok for Christmas it's a commercial gimmick anyway andin recent years become even more so .hope you have a good day whatever you do.

                    Hiya everyone and anyone else

                      Hey friends,

It’s getting dark earlier & earlier like it’s supposed to this time of year. It’s just weird that it’s still so warm.
got the youngest cat Bob into the vet today, 3 shots, a checkup, a nail trim & $195 later we were free to go haha! Everything is expensive these days, what can we do?
So the latest word is Doc will be leaving the trainer’s home & going to his (hopefully) forever home on Friday. I just know he’s going to love the big black & white cows at the farm, Lol

Mick, were you advised to do any warm soaks on your knee? That could help with that feeling you described. Most important of course is to not overdo the walking, etc. Glad your weather is improved, still waiting for a drop of rain here of course. I’ll have to look up the pic of the fox on my deck from a few years ago. Too close for comfort but I think he was smelling the bird seeds/cakes at the bird feeder.

Hello to Cyn, Slo, Pie, PQ & everyone.
                      Have a good night all!

That would be cool to see a red fox with a white-tipped tail, just like in the storybooks!

No grandkids today. D1 & her three are very sick, and I don’t want to catch their crap; so no going up there! Yesterday I had time with Huxley though.

Today I went to a luncheon with the ladies in my condo neighborhood, and that was fun touching base with them! I even sat next to the lady who is part of the couple who bought my old condo, and got to know her a little more. She is very nice.
Then I did retail therapy: returned a small floor lamp, ordered a loveseat, and bought a comfortable chair and a TV console table! Those two will be delivered on Sunday!

I agree that vet bills are atrocious these days! I’m so encouraged about how well Doc is doing. Does the trainer take him out to the farm each day for a visit?

That is sad that there’s complications to PQ’s fracture, but fingers crossed that it can be sorted.

Did your fabric come in the mail for the pillow(s), Lav?

Hello all and how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing well. It is like a summers day here today really sunny lovely and warm and both the rabbits are outside. Just got my glasses today, two pair of reading glasses and two pair of distance as well so now I can see. It makes driving a lot easier haha

Hiya Slo how are you doing today? Was up looking for the fox this morning but no show. How is D1 today? Glad you enjoyed your lunch as well as retail therapy.

Hiya lav. How are you today then? Hope all is well over there with you. No no one mentioned soaking my knee in the slightest, all this said was if it gets really bad go back to your doctor it's a strange feeling it's almost as if cloth on top of it like trousers tracksuit bottoms etc irritate it and also the skin is very smooth as well it's the feeling you get once the pain from a burn subsides if that makes sense. Hope all goes well with the Doc crossed for you . It says that the healing process can take up to eight weeks
And in some cases longer and surgery may eventually be required but that is a long-term scenario one that I certainly don't want to get into hope you have a great day

Hiya pie ppqp and teegee hope all is well with you and that you also have a great day

                            Hey everyone,

Was having a pretty good day until I read the news. A nursing home in my county had an attempted murder-suicide today. The resident killed was an 89 yr old female, the shooter, a 90 yr old male (probably husband & wife). He apparently missed on his suicide attempt & is in the hospital with a gunshot wound. In all my years I never gave a damn thought of anyone doing something like that. Talk about a bad day at work, UGH! Waiting for more info to be released on that story.
Making progress with the pillow work & doing a little (not much) cleaning Lol. Temps are supposed to be cooler tomorrow, still no rain.

Slo, staying away from sick kids is a good thing. My daughter is dealing with bronchitis right now being around kids at school all day. The parents of these autistic kids just send them in sick & don’t think about the consequences. Glad you enjoyed lunch with your condo friends, sounds nice. All the fabric pieces have arrived so I can get these pillows done quickly. I’m not sure how the trainer is handling Doc during her work day. She may be taking him along when she sees other clients. I have a feeling he’s having a ball & getting a lot of positive attention.

Mick, sounds like maybe you have a little nerve sensitivity around your knee. I think I would try soaking in a tub for a little bit then apply some ibuprofen gel. May help, may not. Hope you’re enjoying the new glasses. I have to wait until February if I want insurance to pay the doc visit - can’t wait to see better again haha.

Hello to the rest of the group & wishing everyone a nice night!

                              Hello,

Lav, I guess you just don’t think of a 90-year-old in a nursing home getting ahold of a gun -even if he does have thoughts that death might be the best for both of them.

I just found the obituary of a vivacious, energetic, super healthy, super involved woman my age whom I met in college and who lives in my community -dead in 5 months of cancer! You just never know who’s going out next! I forwarded it to ex-HB. Her brother introduced us.
Lav, back to your earlier question about if ex-HB will marry his gf: I have no idea. I can see why she would live in his home though, as it saves her from having to pay all that rent for her apartment, and also from having to travel between cities in order to see him.

Mick, I use a cream on my knee called Artho Complete by Blueprint Nutrition. That has been effective for me.
D1 has been sick for a good while with like probably bronchitis and a bad cold. I think she should be more careful about sharing drinks & food with her kids. They all infect each other and then re-infect each other.

It was a beautiful day here too, although colder, and with frost on the grass in the morning.

Hello to PQ, in her horizontal position!
