Good evening all,
PQ, so happy to see you checking in. Healing never seems to happen in a totally straight line, there’s almost always ups & downs like you mentioned. I guess the boss has picked up some of your work duties? Haha!! Keep moving forward friend, no matter how long it takes.
Coolish here & still dry. We have broken the record set back in the 1800’s. Now I’m hearing talk. Of a possible tiny bit of rain coming Friday morning, we’ll see. 81 degrees predicted for Halloween - good for. The trick or treaters I guess. I made a pretty darn good vegan roasted cauliflower soup today, lots of flavor & good texture too. I used my immersion blender to make it smooth, no flour, butter or milk involved. If anyone wants a giggle I posted a video from our local message board on FB. It involves loose cows & Amish kids trying to get them back where they belong LOL. I’m sure those boys were late for school.
Hello to Mick, I hope your trip to the vet worked out OK.
Hello to the rest of the crowd & wishing everyone a good night!

MAE ALL...thought I'd check in from work as I'm more comfortable typing at my desk than at home. But since I don't have anything else to say to myself I'll just check back later to see if anyone has updated their day...PPQP

MAE ALL...still hanging in there, some days are better than others. One day the pain will be better and I start thinking ok, I'm on the mend. Then the next day it's worse that before. I do go into work for a few hours a day but quickly get exhausted. I am working on setting up some physio treatments and have an ultra sound on Friday. We have turned the corner on the weather with cold north winds and off and on snow. Not amounting to much yet, but it's coning.
Mick...I'm glad you're able to help out with Julie's Dad, such a shame about the state of healthcare everywhere.
Lav...I think I read somewhere that Doc has now relocated to his new home, and a new name. We turn our clocks back this weekend as well, Our Halloween is going to just below freezing which isn't too bad as it has been -20C/-4F some years. We don't get trick or treaters so I don't have to worry about going up and down the stairs on Thursday. What can I say about your SIL, hope she's at peace now. Just saw you posted and survived the trip to the vet and back, even with Dave getting loose.
Slo...good to hear things are improving for you, don't overdue it (speaking from experience!). Glad to hear that you're still getting out with your sister, how nice. I'll try to post more often but after organizing medical appointments, paying bills, responding to some emails, I'm done in. Speaking of which, it's time to get horizontal.
Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all...PPQP

Good Monday evening,
Took Luna & Dave to the vet for their nail trims & ended up getting them caught up on shots too. So $300 later I took them home haha. Apparently they didn’t close Dave’s crate properly so he busted out of it & started bouncing around the car, LOL. He is one wild & crazy guy!! Oh, & I was unable to get the sedation into him this time. Weather remains cool & dry. We have broken the all time record of no rain for 30 days. There’s a strict county wide burning ban so let’s hope some idiot doesn’t decide to burn leaves or something stupid.
Mick, I hope the trip to & from the hospital with Julie’s Dad went OK. I remember driving my Dad to his last few doctor/hospital appts too.
so you’re still hogging all the rain at your place. Please think about sharing some.
Slo, these cats are large, 11+ lbs & borderline wild so there’s no chance of me holding them & clipping nails without one of us getting hurt. I know there’s a person or two around the area who makes home visits to do this so I really need to look them up. Back in the day I was able to do the nails on my big dogs by sitting on them, haha. My hands really can’t handle that anymore. Glad you’re feeling stronger & able to get some things done around the house. I love hearing speakers that leave you feeling positive. So sick of all the negativity around us this year.
Hello to PQ, Pie, Cyn & everyone.
Have a good night all!

Howdy on a Monday,
Lav, well it is exciting to have found a good bun recipe that turned out -and to be able to make your own bread products!
You have to take the cats in to trim their nails? I was able to do Boyd by myself. But, he was a small cat. The amount of his hair that would end up all over me when I trimmed his nails was ridiculous! I was unable to do our dog Tucker’s nails by myself, and would have to take him in to have them done.
Mick, something came up on my news feed about finding coins in Britain; I think it was about this Adam. It also referenced a Hexne (?) find too. That’s too bad that he & his girlfriend Beth are no longer together, but, she was still one of the discoverers too; so she still gets her part of the money.
I am excited that I was able to get so much housework done today, without having to stop due to pain &/or exhaustion from the neuropathy and its related problems! Maybe I really am starting to heal!
Yesterday my sister invited me to see an interview of Doris Kearns Goodwin, speaking for a group called Democracy First. This group puts on presentations focusing on at-risk “swing states” such as Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, who could swing either way at election time; putting our nation at risk for losing our democratic freedoms. She was a fascinating lady!
Tomorrow I made plans to go up and see D1 & the kids. It’s supposed to warm up some outside too!
It was fun to see pictures of all the grandkids in their Halloween costumes this weekend! Huxley & his dad were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and D3’s family were Scooby Doo characters: the baby was Velma, and D3 made little felt glasses for her, attached to a headband; and Andy was Fred.
I miss PQ! But I know she can’t be writing yet, as she needs to heal first.

Hello everyone and just a quick message I'm outside the care home at the moment waiting to pick Julie's Dad up in the car the reason being he has a hospital appointment today and there are no ambulances in the immediate future that could take him to the hospital and it will be the same on return as well it is absolutely crazy full stop it is pouring done with rain as well today, so rabbits are inside not a lot happening at all for stop still feels kind of weird with the clocks going back my body clock certainly hasn't adjusted to that one yet!
Kathy best of luck with your vets trip today. I have got mine tomorrow afternoon
hope everyone is doing okay we'll jump in later on take care

Greetings everyone,
We turn our clocks back an hour next weekend Mick. The outside temp feels ‘normal’ for late October but they’re saying Halloween is going to be warm again, haha! Everyone will end up getting sick, mark my words. Baked up a batch of white whole wheat hamburger rolls today & froze them so we’ll have them when needed. Such excitement.
For those who haven’t seen Messenger, my SIL passed today, much sooner than the 2-4 months she was given when going on Hospice. We hadn’t spoken since my brother passed 11 or so years ago. She treated him terribly toward the end of his life, even their kids had blown her off. I hope she’s happy now.
Mick, looking forward to the time change next weekend although I know there will be no extra hour of sleep for me. Tossed & turned something terrible last night for no reason.
I have the job of taking the 2 oldest cats in for a nail trim tomorrow. The one named after my brother Dave has to be sedated 2 hrs before trying to cram him into the crate, Lol
I learned the hard way with him. Glad you skipped the detecting trip this time. You should be in good shape when spring rolls around again.
Hello to to Cyn, Pie, Slo, PQ & everyone.
Have a good night all!
