    Hello all,

cloudy all day, still waiting for the promised rain which may make an appearance tonight or not.
Planted 3 garden beds for next year’s butterflies. Covered them with straw & chicken wire hoping to keep my roaming cats out. Worked on a pillow order & made a batch of Polish gnocchi known as Koptyka. Kept my hands & mind busy.

Mick, I hope that’s not my rain you got today haha!
I’m sure your rabbits appreciate clean quarters. Monday is our Veterans Day, time to remember them all. Good luck with your dental visit, hope it’s easy.

Hello to PQ, thinking of you!
Hello to Cyn, Slo & Pie & everyone.

    Have a nicenight all,
    Lav
PS: I somehow slept a solid 7 hours last night - shocking I know LOL. Thank Jeebus!!!

I slept 7 hours last night too -finally!! I feel so much better during the day after the rare nights when I get enough sleep.
      i think I hear thunder out there…
You really were busy today, with cooking and sewing and gardening projects. I didn’t realize that Fall was a planting time. Although I guess bulbs get planted in the Fall. Gnocchi is yummy. Can you freeze some of your Koptyka?

Mick, were others at the war memorial too? Was a band playing? Yes, the rabbits will love having a fresh, clean hutch.
I only stayed at Daughter’s college town overnight on Friday. She was eager to see me off after the swim meet, as she had other plans.

I was productive too: got all my therapies in, got my kitchen cleaned, and finally started going through all my memorabilia and tossing things out. What a weird trip down memory lane -old school papers that I wrote, yearbooks & school newspapers, a diary from when I was a kid…

That replacement stand that I got for my TV won’t attach to it, so that was a bust. Now I have to get a new TV, and get it mounted to the wall. This one is too old to bother with mounting.

Good point that it is Veterans Day tomorrow.

PQ, brace yourself for another day of being upright and busy tomorrow! Hopefully the government deadline work is done.

Hello everyone and how are we today then? hope everyone is doing well it is an absolutely glorious day today over here they reckon we are in for a real nice week of weather, we shall see. Went out the camera the smiling haven't even looked at the pictures yet, been kind of busy taking stuff to the tip etc. I've just let the rabbits out, both outside on the lawn.

Hiya Slo how are you today then question mark hope you are okay. I slept pretty well last night too. We are actually going through this stuff at Julie's dad's house at the moment and there is tons of memorabilia a trouble is it is not all in one place it is in between books old papers anything so everything has to be gone through very carefully. I am doing this as talk to text and my phone doesn't find it easy at the best of times far less with teeth missing! Yes there was a band playing at the memorial, to be totally honest I would rather go up there on my own pay my respects on my own as well I don't like or indeed need audiences. Hope you have a great day

Hiya Lav.hows you today then? Hope things are all okay full stop the weather is absolutely crazy over here I have a rose bush that is just starting it's second Bloom now, also my fuchsias are starting to flower. I am at the dentist tomorrow so fingers crossed everything will be fixed and I can get back to eating proper food again! I have just lost part of this post I don't know where it's gone but there is a part for ppqp and TG that has gone missing so hello to you both yet again hope things are okay with you ppqp and that you are recovering quickly. I'm going to finish this now unless it goes missing somewhere else take care everyone

          Greetings friends,

We had a wonderful .77” of rain last night! Finally after 40 some days of nothing. Walked around outside this morning & found a big fat bloom on my clematis. The plants are so confused, feel sorry for them. We went out & bought a 4 ft tabletop Christmas tree today. The old one is too large & too heavy for us to manage anymore. This is just the first step in winding down all the big holiday frenzy. I am definitely too old & tired for all that anymore, Lol. We had a sunny day, not cold but tomorrow’s high temp will only be 53 degrees.

Slo, Congrats on the sleep - it’s a wonderful thing!! I hope this trend continues for all of us.
We ended up eating most of the kopytka, had the rest of them today. You can freeze them on a cookie sheet then store them in freezer bags. That’s helpful when cooking for a crowd.
bummer about the TV & stand. Hope yo get that sorted out OK.

Mick, I really enjoyed today’s pics, very creative
I hope your dental trip is not too bad, I know you’re ready for some real food at this point. Just heard my granddaughter was invited to march with the high school band today at their hometown Veterans day parade. This time next year she will be in high school & regular flute playing band member. Boy does time fly or what??

          PQ, hope yo are well.
Hello to Cyn & Pie & everyone.

          Have a nice night all!

            Good morning!

Yesterday I didn’t get enough sleep, which left me tired and craving too much food. Last night I slept 7 hours though! -so should be a better day.

I have a Christmas tree that size too now, Lav; from my mother when she moved and downsized. I am moving away from the Christmas frenzy too, as I can barely accomplish my regular activities with my lame body. And, if I’m honest, I never did like hauling decorations up from the basement and putting them up, then taking them down. It felt so good to simply just not decorate for Fall this year!
It must be like living in a desert, with so little rain. Thankfully we’re finally getting enough.

Mick, you have to sort through all your FIL’s things? Yes, you would get your FIL’s since he ended up with dementia. And my mother dropped boxes & boxes of her completely unorganized memorabilia onto me, thanks to her vision losses and downsizing. I need to get through my own stuff so I don’t leave my daughters with all this crap to go through.

              I just lost a post.

Well, saying that my mother is coming a day early so that I can take her to her eye appointment early-ish tomorrow morning. So now we will go to D2’s house (she has Tuesdays off from work), and visit with her and Huxley; and my sister is making dinner for all of us! Son-IL2 will be gone.
I picked Huxley up from daycare yesterday, and spent a couple hours with him. We watch Peppa Pig together after school for awhile.

Wishing PQ well for today, and Mick with his dental appointment.

MAE ALL...just checking in to say things are going ok. Most of the pain has gone now I just need to figure out how what's next. Had some bad news on Sunday. Don't remember if I told you the childcare director went into the hospital on the Tuesday right after my 2 visits to emergency. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and sent her home a week later. Last Saturday she got the diagnosis, she has cancer It's metastasized and is in her stomach, liver and small intestines'. She is terminal and is moving straight to palliative care. I'm still in shock, she won't be coming back.

Sorry for not keeping up, will do better. Have a good night all...PPQP

                  Good evening everyone,

I’m still trying to adjust to this early darkness, weird. The animals seem to be adjusting better than I am Lol. It’s been very windy making it feel colder than it actually is out there.
Looks like the moon is getting near full so watch out.

Slo, I think I’m going to enjoy a smaller Christmas. You & I both have done all the work over & over. Let someone else have a turn, right?
Grateful for the .77” of rain we had but much more is needed. I don’t ever remember such a dry spell around here. I did a fair amount of tossing & turning last night. I firmly believe it’s not in the cards for me to ever have 2 good nights in a row, oh well. I grew very fond of Peppa Pig when the grandkids were young. Glad you had some Huxley time. Hope the trip to the eye doctor with your Mom goes well, good luck.

PQ, good to see you but sorry to hear that news about the childcare director, that’s sad. Did she decide on her own to forego treatment? Apparently that’s what my SIL decided to do too. I hope she’s made as comfortable as possible. Glad to hear your pain has been managed, hope you get your PT in soon to preserve use of your arm/neck. Take care.

Mick, we are all hoping your dental situation is under control too. It’s a shame you’ve had so much grief with the implants. You take care too.

                  Hello to Cyn, Pie. Everyone.
                  Wishing everyone a nice night!

                      Good evening everyone,

Bright & sunny here today but hearing rumors of possible rain tomorrow. Hope so!
There are still so many wildfires burning here & in surrounding states due to the ongoing drought, sad. Cooked up a new recipe from a magazine article YB ripped out & handed to me, haha. It wasCreamy mushroom pasta with red pepper & thyme. Made it dairy free & reduced sodium & was still pretty good. Baked up a dozen 3 ingredient almond butter cookies in the new little oven for dessert

Mick, glad you’re feeling better today after all that dental work. So painkillers is the secret to a decent night’s sleep, I’ll keep that in mind Lol
we are dropping below freezing tonight so we will probably see frost in the morning too. Sorry to hear about Julie’s friend’s husband, sad.

Hello to PQ, Slo, Cyn, Pie & everyone.
I just got a new embroidery design for a Capybara (my spirit animal haha). Going to put it on a black sweatshirt for fun.
                      Have a great night all!

MAE ALL...the only thing going smoothly right now is the weather. Still no snow, temps above freezing and mostly sunny. Looks like we'll have mild weather for the craft sale this weekend. It’s been a busy time for me, updating the 2026 calendar because people are trying to book that far in advance, final details about the craft sale to deal with and OMG putting up with the assistant childcare director’s drama! I was also tasked with getting a card, ordering flowers and coordinating meal preparation and drop off for the director’s family. I’ll be glad when this week is done.

Lav…I hear you about the early darkness, thankfully I can get home just before the complete sunset. By the time the director was diagnosed the cancer was too far advanced to even consider treatment. Just need to get the flowers/card to her before she’s moved to hospice. You’re so creative with being able to adjust recipes to match your dietary needs. I don’t measure the water for Kraft Dinner and it’s ruined. LOL By the way, I can confirm pain killers help with sleep.

Mick…I’ve tried to read all the posts but sometimes there’s just too much. I know you’ve been suffering with your teeth again but didn’t realize how bad this go around has been for you. Glad you’re starting to get some relief. I’ll have to check MSG to see if you posted your pic of the moon. It must be such a relief to Julie that you can help with her Dad’s hospital tests.

Slo…sorry I haven’t been responding to your posts personally. It sounds like things are going ok for you. I’ll try to keep up better.

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all…PPQP

                            Good morning,

I’m up early with my electrodes on. My mom and sister are here, for two nights in a row! Now I don’t feel so lonely! I wish Mother found us worthy to visit “just because”. Like, just because she’d like to see my new place, and see D2’s new place, and spend time with us (sister & I), and see her great grandson Huxley. But she never does. People have to go to her. But, luckily she needed help with her vision appointment, so she had to come & see us! It has been very nice.

PQ, D2 said the childcare director at Huxley’s daycare is also dying of recently diagnosed, terminal cancer! It is just so sad how many people are being stricken with severe cancers, and at earlier ages. I wish Boss could handle getting the flowers etc., under your circumstances. That’s right, your craft fair will be coming up soon too. I’m so glad you can post here again! No pressure about responding to everyone personally though; only type what you can handle and no more.

Mick, my mother’s memorabilia is the same: jumbled together, and I have to go through it piece by piece, so I don’t miss an old treasure mixed in with recent stuff.
Yes, it is chilling to see how Trump is putting all his cronies into place, whether they qualify for the job or not.
Good luck with your day with your FIL. I hope his surgery works out.

If a capybara (?) is your spirit animal, Lav, then how clever & creative to put it on a sweatshirt! Dinner sounds good at your house. To think the air fryer even bakes cookies!
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.
