I woke up to so much snow yesterday morning! The roads were horrible, and I couldn’t make it to my 8 am appointment due to being stuck in standstill traffic.

I am finding my built-up shoe with the added sole to be terribly slippery in wet weather, and therefore a dangerous hazard. I don’t have boots now, since I can’t wear a shoe with any type of heel, so will have to figure out footwear for wet, snowy, slushy weather.

Lav, good idea to just pare back with gardening and lawn maintenance for now, instead of moving from your nice place.
I’m glad that you got a chance to visit with friends too. It really helps.

PQ, I wonder if assistant childcare director will become the childcare director? Thankfully things have calmed down for you at work, since you’re still trying to heal from your fracture.

Mick, yes, it would be a miserable vacation under those circumstances!

Today I am asked to help with potty training Huxley. Wish me luck!

Hello everyone and how are we today then? hope everyone is doing okay. as you saw we had more snow overnight and this morning it froze. Next door neighbor crashed his car on the way down the hill this morning, that's why we are going nowhere! His car isn't too badly damaged but the problem is it has all the sensors and everything in the front so it's going to cost about two thousand pound to get repaired. There have been quite a few crashes this morning. It is really overcast and it is only two o'clock in the afternoon. this new storm that's coming is it supposed to be bringing rain and the weather on Sunday doesn't look so bad. But very very cold

Hiya ppqp glad sings are on the mend for you. This should be your third quiet day in a row bearing in mind it is Friday! And then obviously phone off for the weekend. Yes we have decided to move although it as I said previously depends on what the future holds but the end game now is to move somewhere near Amy although she can forget the idea of having a built in babysitter! That will not be happening but I would say roughly in an area of about 40 miles from where she is. The properties are cheap or cheaper simply because there isn't a lot of work around there and it is rural I think the biggest industry is Farming around their probably a sore subject at this time over here but nevertheless. Fuck you have a good weekend and take things steady.

Hiya lav and how are you doing today? Hope all is well over there. A quiet weekend over here for us that's a dead certainty. I'm just looking on Amazon now basically just having a nosy! And there is a beef casserole in the slow cooker for tea and it smells absolutely gorgeous. apart from that not a lot happening here

      Have a great weekend all

        Good evening everyone,

It’s cold & damp here, had snow, rain, more snow & ended with rain, Lol It was definitely a good day to stay home, plenty of things to do right here. Working on customer orders, made a dairy free pizza for dinner, yum

Slo, sorry you missed your appt. Just a thought - do you think you could wear a hiking boot? They have good traction to keep you upright. They come in wide sizes to wear with heavy socks so your orthotic might fit. Potty training tip - keep a bag of M&Ms handy. They worked like a charm with my grandkids haha! Good luck with Huxley.

Mick, good day for you to stay at home as well I see. I wish people would just stay home when the roads are bad. I have very clear memories about the guy who crashed into me, after midnight, sitting at a red light less than 1/2 from home. I was exhausted coming home after work, no one else was out on the road & he just had to crash into me & totaled my car, pushing me right through the intersection. I wanted to smack him, haha! Sorry about your neighbor’s car. Be careful with the Amazon shopping, it’s addictive!!!

Hello to PQ, Cyn, Pie & everyone.
        Have a safe night all!

MAE ALL...YEAH IT'S THE WEEKEND!! We've been under a snowfall warning as of 10am. There's a system pushing in from the west coast that will collide with the artic low coming down, I am hunkering down for the weekend.

Lav...I did sign up for the free info so will start there and see what they have to offer. I agree, it's a small price to pay if it helps me save my bones. I keep forgetting your Thanksgiving is much later than ours, any progress on commitment from "the boys" yet? I hate that snow/rain/snow ending with rain cycle. Then everything is frozen over during the night. The very short distance I drive to work in the morning is a well travelled early morning commuter route so by the time on it it's all good.

Slo...yup, it's been standstill traffic here for 3 days now. Except my route to work and back! Sorry you missed your appointment. Do you remember the good old "Goloshes"? You might be able to find something like that to fit over your shoe. In all likelihood she will become the Director, for now she is the Interim Director as the Director is technically still an employee. Basically, no salary increase but extra responsibilities and a new learning curve to get through. She told the boss if she wasn't given the job she was quitting. LOL

Mick...gotta love your voice translation, especially your last sentence to me. LOL Yup, you definitely made the right decision to stay home. The incoming rain storm and then the cold weather isn't worth venturing out in. Yes, it was my 3rd quiet day and yes the phone is off. Sounds like a hour away is a good distance to avoid the "just popping out, can you watch Elouise for me?"

Enough hunched over my laptop (the boys have been talking about a proper desk/chair setup - Christmas is coming, just saying.) Have a good night all and stay safe out there....PPQP

Are the boys talking about getting a proper desk/chair set-up mainly for you to use, PQ?
My neck is forward some too. I am looking at a certain cervical pillow to possibly get for sleeping on.
Assistant Childcare Director deserves the job if she does the interim work with no extra pay!
            Yeah, Mick flipped you off!

I got barefoot-style hiking boot-shaped shoes that I wore for the first time today, and in a half-size larger. Just got it picked up from the cobbler. The flat sole that he attaches is unsafe though, as I slip too easily on it. But, with the barefoot style, there isn’t enough sole to split and sandwich the 1/2” extra in between, so the tread is on the bottom. I’ll have to talk to him about adding tread somehow. It costs a lot more that way, but needs must.
I looked up galoshes on Amazon, but the ones they have are different nowadays and tighter to the shoe. I don’t think they will work with these weird, bulky, wide-toe box, (ugly!) “hiking boots” (not quite!) shoe boots that I have.

Lav, I bought and brought a bag of M&Ms to Huxley’s! That’s how I trained his mother! It worked quite well (for both of them!) He really seems to be getting the hang of it!

My doctor wants me to go off of my Lexapro for the next 3 1/2 days, in order to get a proper brain scan. So I think I had better lay low too, since I’ll likely be feeling low and weird.

Beef casserole in the slow cooker does sound gorgeous. I hope to make beef stew next week. Just need a few more ingredients.

Time to start our low-key weekends. Good night!
