    24 Nov .

hi all how are we doing today then? hope we are all doing ok.Snow has all gone....however we are still in storm Bert ...the garden is waterlogged ,the field is flooded and its like a river running down the hill.Quite a few of the roads are flooded .Glad we never went away. We are going to see if we can get a vets appointment this week ...I think Argyl is struggling ...where he shuffles around his fur has gone ..and when he goes to the toilet I have to wash him to stop urine burns ..I cant think of an alternative but we shall see hopefully not ,
hope everyone is having a decent weekend

Aw, sorry you are there again with another beloved pet, Mick. I’m still haunted by Boyd. But the vet really felt it was time. Your vet may feel the same about Argyl as well.

Yeah, the problem with early snowfalls is all the runoff when they melt.

I just tried my new (used) indoor exercise bike. It was better than my last one, but still ended up really bothering the baby toe on the left and bothering the knee replacement on the right after 12 minutes, so that is the limit. And the need to rest afterwards. Pathetic! But better than nothing.

My sister & I went out for brunch together. That got me out a little. I had wanted to go up and see the grandchildren, but Mabel has a bad viral rash.

I am on day 2 of skipping my antidepressant Lexapro, in order to get a more accurate brain wave reading on Tuesday. So it’s probably best that I lay low. I suppose the brain zaps will start tomorrow. I will resume on Tuesday, but want to start titrating off over 7 months, by reducing down by 1 tablet per week each month.

Got my potatoes today, for my contribution of mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving!

Hope all is well in Lav-land, and well for PQ’s computer-free weekend.

Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

      `Greetings all,

I actually forgot to post here yesterday even though I thought about it a few times, hmm. I admit I am easily distracted these days. Temp around 50 degrees today, mostly sunny. We ran out to Walmart for a few things this afternoon but otherwise have been home all weekend. No decision has been made about Thanksgiving yet. Tomorrow (25th) is my son’s birthday so I will text him & just ask directly about the holiday. I know it’s my DIL causing all this grief, it’s not his fault. So, who knows what’s to happen?

Mick, sorry to hear about Argyl. It’s sad watching them lose their ability to do normal things with ease. We went thru months of that with YB’s cat until she passed not too long ago. See what the vet has to say, never know. Staying in this weekend sounds good.

Slo, good luck with your brain scan. I hope the Lexapro withdrawal stays away. I was on it many years ago too. Took it for two years, felt numb the entire time & it never decreased my desire to drink. Waste of. Time for me I guess. I’ve done so much better on the St Johns wort, quit drinking nearly 16 years ago & had no desire to start up again. That’s my story anyway. Weaning off slowly is always best. Are you peeling the entire bag of potatoes? Haha, I hate that part.

Hello to PQ, Cyn, Pie & everyone.
      Have a nice night all!

MAE ALL…checking in while the going’s good. We are in the deep freeze, -20C/-4F worse with the windchill. We got clobbered with snow on Saturday, it was like a blizzard all day. No snow on Sunday but it is very cold. Didn’t get up to much on the weekend, no work calls!

Mick…sorry Argyle is having issues again. Hope it can get sorted out. At this point I think I’d rather have the snow, as long as I don’t have to go anywhere.

Slo…why are you getting your brain zapped? Do I remember you doing that before? Good luck with weaning off the antidepressant. Glad you were able to get out for lunch yesterday.

Lav…I think that’s funny you forgot to post yesterday; same thing happens to me. I think about it off and on and then poof it’s out of my thoughts. I stuck pretty close to home this weekend as well.

Not much more going on. Have a good night all…PPQP

            Good evening all,

See? I remembered to post today Lol. Grateful when my brain is actually working right
Today my son’s 44th birthday, how did he get so old? Haha. He’s decided to keep his dysfunctional wife home on Thanksgiving. I’ll miss seeing the boys but will catch up with. Them eventually. My daughter invited us to their place for a Thanksgiving turkey meatloaf Lol. We will be going there in the rain I guess. So my 12 lb turkey can remain in the freezer a while longer & that’s OK with me. Went to the grocery store, Walmart, gas station & mushroom store this afternoon - such excitement. Rain is due here tomorrow as well. Grateful for it, we have a lot of catching up to do. Meanwhile the Amish continue to burn whatever they want, ho hum.

Mick, keeping my fingers crossed for you & Argyl & your FIL too.
I think you guys should have a Thanksgiving day too like the rest of us.

PQ, I think Slo was referring to brain zaps which can happen after a quickly stopping an antidepressant. She was scheduled for a scan today. Sorry to hear about your cold. Snowy conditions. Be careful out there! Have you gotten reading about all the nutrients we need to build new bone yet? Calcium is only one, we also need magnesium, K2, boron & D3. It’s not easy to get all that in your food, especially when you want to keep your diet more alkaline. I’ve been taking a supplement with all that & the calcium is plant based not made out of rocks. Keep reading & learning, you won’t be sorry. Stay safe, please.

Hello to Slo, Cyn, Pie & everyone.
            Have a good night all.

            Lav

              Good evening, Friends!

Glad you have Thanksgiving sorted, Lav; and that you don’t have to host! Yes, I’m peeling the 8 pounds of potatoes. But, I found out Young Daughter will be here, so maybe she will help!
True that it was English citizens who started our Thanksgiving tradition! So, privilege restriction in the army really does mean peeling potatoes?!

I’m not feeling great obviously with the antidepressant cessation, but no actual brain zaps yet. Close though. Tomorrow at 2:30 is my appointment for repeat brain wave mapping. I don’t think I’ll continue with cold turkey cessation. It’s a bit brutal.

I’m trying to go through my old shit so I don’t leave it behind for others to have to go through when I die. Currently perusing two diaries that I kept in my late childhood/early teen years, before I toss them. I would get them (the blank ones) for Christmas presents. It must have been a thing then, and my mother worked in the stationery area of a retail store where they sold them. So, that’s painful too -to be thrown back to those middle school teen angst years!

PQ, sounds like the kind of weather where it’s best to just stay inside.
              You deserve some sun, Mick!
