MAE ALL...our weather is supposed to break tonight with above freezing temps all next week. It'll make going back to work that much easier.

Mick...thanks for the Birthday Wishes. I'm feeling better today, got outside for a bit yesterday so that seemed to make a difference. Hope things are going ok for you guys, I'll check fb messenger and get caught up.

mae all how are we doing? hope all is well.this is the second post Im doing ...I had done alot of the first one and got a message up ..it said ...error security token guest and then the message and post disappeared .Now you know why I dont like posting so much on here Slo ..since the revamp it has gone a bit pear shaped for me I find it difficult to read ,to post pics etc on here now and Im damned if Im going to write messages that fly off into the ether .I enjoy posting here I find it cathartic ,though at times when my time is stretched as recently. Here gets dropped first .I read your post about leaving here ....tbh ..for me the issue isnt talking about alc...we have all done the hard stuff ..its about creating a group willing to support each other if the wheel ever came off .the other point was to create a safe haven for those wanting to quit...though tbh I doubt any one even looks now..Bearing in mind the spread over the world we are ..the weather seems a pretty good intro topic for any convo.Im happy to chat to anyone who has an issue with booze to comfort support and strategise with them...but for a load of "Tommy time ins"like us ..I think its an unnecessary subject .Doing that also my be a subconscious trigger for someone ..I dont know.I havent been on here too much because of the time constraints we are currently under so I havent read all the post ....I have this morning though .hopeyou have a good day ...what are you up to?

hiya Lav how are you doing?did you get the promised snow?Im watching a series on you tube called the Irish Homestead...they are rebuilding a farmhouse in Ireland ...and keeping all sorts of animals...they have just bought an egg hatcher ...If you get the chance its pretty good series .Just been messaged...my new camera and lens will be delivered today or tomorrow..

MAE ALL...well that was quite the day! On top of programs starting, having to get my articles in for Feb newsletter, got an email from the childcare director's son saying they'd like to hold the celebration of life at the community centre. That was a shocker. He said it was actually one of her wishes. So a bit of back and forth to work out a date, Feb 15th. Wonder if the boss will attend. On other news, our Prime Minister resigned this morning and shut down parliament.

Lav...thanks for the Bday wishes. I've been watching the weather reports on the news, are you getting all of that? And I thought I had reason to complain about the weather. Oh boy! Yes, our chinook arrived and we're above freezing for the rest of the week, sorry, don't mean to rub it in. I'm not foolish enough to think we're over the worst of it but it's nice to have the break.

Mick...yup, first day back and to be honest I was glad to get back into my routine. I was expecting a busy day and did manage to get everything done. I'll have to check on what's happening your weather. I knew you were getting some snow but it sounds like you've gotten a lot.

Slo...sorry to hear you're packing it in as far as posting here goes. I get it. You know where we are and how to get ahold of any of us if you want.

Checking in a bit late tonight, have been busy dealing with SNOW & COLD, haha! Also back in my workshop because people want embroidered pillows, go figure.
We really only got about 3” of snow, may be getting more overnight. The nice kid across the road came over & plowed the driveway for us.

Mick, like you I enjoy checking in daily & seeing how everyone else is doing, be it good news or bad. I like to believe we provide some support for one another like any old friends do.. I walked away from AL nearly 16 years ago. Never think about it or have the need to bring it up anymore. Occasionally I do mention that I am glad I don’t drink AT things anymore, that was a huge waste of time.

PQ, we hot just enough sbow I think, haha! They closed school because all these country kids depend on school buses, there are no sidewalks for safe walking.
We are moving into deep freeze weather bow for a few days, I’m staying inside. I heard that Trudeau resigned. Now what happens?
Having the funeral service at the community center just may be a help to all of you who knew & worked with her. A comfortable way to say goodbye.

Well, I don’t get to never think about it, or never have the need to bring it up anymore! My sister, my closest person; is relapsed again. And I had to deal with the shocking realization of my little brother’s situation the other night; to have to realize just how deep in he is, and to accept that there is basically no hope, and he will die from this. It was a lot to confront. To see that he may have wet brain already.
To see up close how devastated & confused he is that his mother doesn’t love him. And to have no adequate answer for his children when they ask why Grandma doesn’t come over anymore to see them, except that “she doesn’t like me”. And then drink the pain away. Even my other reddish-blond-haired brother was drinking a lot by the end (I could see that by combing through his meticulously-kept expenditure records posthumously, since he was an auditor / accountant) -even though he wasn’t alcoholic, and never really took to the stuff! But, trying to deal with the pain that his mother didn’t love him (she rejected the ones of us who look like Dad in coloring), before finally just jumping to his death.

I’m happy for you that alcohol and its devastations are out of your lives. Yay for you. But it’s not for me.

MAE ALL...a much quieter day today, funny how that works when the accountant isn't in. The retired Childcare Director wrote a tribute to the childcare director who passed, for our Feb newsletter. It was very well done and of course started the tears again. The family is expecting 250 people! The current childcare director stepped up and actually did most of the work for the subsidy reporting herself. I was very pleased to see that. The next step is a little more complicated but I don't mind helping her work through it now that I know she's willing to do the work.?

Lav...I'm glad to hear you're not getting clobbered like some other places in the states. It's nice to have neighbours that step up for you. I hope your deepfreeze doesn't last too long. Yes, Trudeau resigned before caucus could call for a non-confidence vote. He took the chicken way out and prorogued government so now no business can be conducted until a new leader is elected sometime in late March. And of course with Trump coming on board soon it's a real sh*t show. Who knows, we may become your 51st state. LOL Having the celebration of life at the community centre is the best thing that could have happened. It will allow everyone to be together and just be there for her. I need a tie dye shirt, could you whip one up for me?

Slo...aw, I wish I could just come over, give you a big hug and just sit with you. I'm so sorry to hear your sister relapsed again. She was sober for quite awhile and you sounded so happy being with and doing things with her. I'm sure that hurts like hell. And then to find out about your little brother. I had never heard about wet brain so looked it up. OMG that is a lot to be confronted with. You've just been lambasted with a lot of things directly related to alcohol and nobody on the thread seems to talk about alcohol. I understand your frustration. When I first joined MWO, I was at my lowest, drinking 24hrs a day and when not actually drinking feeling so depressed about what I'd become. When I found MWO and read about other people doing and feeling the same way I did, it made me feel better. I felt like I wasn't all alone, that others understood what I was going through, and it helped. I wish I had the words to help you feel better.

Mick...not sure what your day was like, hope it was uneventful.
