              January (new year) abbercisers!!

I took two days off (on antibiotics for an infection, and feeling I needed the rest) then back on the T-Mill today. Only 30 minutes, but/and it really improved my mood.

Debating whether to continue this jogging/walking thing, or just stick to walking fast and uphill... I've gotten into trouble with my knees in the past, when I was doing a lot of running, and now that I realize how slow I am jogging... why not just walk? Gets my heart rate up, feels good, doesn't hurt my knees (just hurts my pride!)... I can still alternate that with rowing, cycling/spinning.

awip, i love spinning. i have an indoor trainer for my bike and the "spinervals" dvds that are great and all different fitness levels.
the town i live in is so small we don't have a proper gym, so i have alot of my own stuff to workout with/on.
i seem to favor the treadmill though...i used to run and i have dreams of running up hills again...someday soon i hope!!!

                onward friends!

Started treadmill slowly at 20 minutes and yesterday did a pilates work out that focused on ab's. UGH I am sore.

                    January (new year) abbercisers!!

Hi all, back from my tramp with sun burn and lots of mosquito bites! Great to see that everyone is sticking to their NY resolutions!!

Had a fun time away .... pretty easy tramp which we took slowly and with lots of breaks as we had some kids with us.

Swam 3km in the pool yesterday - last big long swim before the one on the 24th. I know I can do the distance but sea swimming is just a bit harder than the pool, and I am just praying for a fine day!! It can get quite windy here, and when it does the sea gets very choppy. Anyway, I've set myself a goal of completing it within 1hour and 15mins ...... which will be fine if it i a nice day!!

WIP - I've pretty much given up trying to run because it always sets my knees off. But the "walking fast on an uphill incline" thing gets my heart rate right up to where it is supposed to be!! Sounds like you are making lots of progress - well done!!
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Does working on eating an obscenely large apple fritter count as exercise??? :H

What with craving AL and smokes, I really needed a substitute today.
But, this week is official start week for the gym.

I'm off to a a slow start, but a start all the same. I am getting into the Wii fit routine, and must say, it could be a decent work out, and it's kind of fun since it's interactive and keeps track of stuff for you. I'm going to aim for at least 2-3 workouts at the fitness center per week also.
WIP--IMHO walking is just as good as running--it just takes longer!

Keep up the great work everyone!:h

                          hi gg!

so lvt, is the wii worth it? i'm intrigued, but my husband hates video games and doesn't seem to "get" what it is. i would love to have one, as would my daughter!

i did 60 minutes on tm with hand weights and backward walking, sidewalking and massive inclines, i had really bad cravings today and worked myself into (out of?) submission.

i wish i would see some weight reduction!

Peacenik, the Wii is just another toy. As far as a work out, it's just kind of like having a personal trainer. But I'm sure it will get old after awhile. It measures BMI and weight (not sure how accurately) and keeps track of how much you exercise on it. (The Wii Fit I'm talking about). We have 2 young boys that love it though. it's different than any game out there, as you can be active with most of the games.
So, is it worth it? If I didn't have kids, I doubt I would have invested in it just to do the fitness workouts. But I'm cheap!:H

You can come try mine out if you want!!
