    January (new year) abbercisers!!

    well done folks.

    escaped unscathed from my second night at Muay Thai kickboxing last night. it's fun! and jiu jitsu tonight. I will have 6 hours per week of martial arts now with my current schedule. sadly that all gets messed up when I travel but my travel schedule has been pretty light and I hope it stays that way.

        i spinned (spun?) for an hour with a great aerobic fitness building dvd and did some medicine ball stuff.
        yoga tonight!

        anyone feel like they are using exercise as a healthy replacement for AL???

            Thanks Mame, LV, for the realistic nudge in favor of my inclination to stick with walking, and not risk my knees! Did 45 minutes on the TM today and it does feel good.

            I remember the years when I was still drinking heavily, and (at least for some periods of time, also working out. I thought that exercise would at least help minimize the damage I knew I was doing to myself... Anyhow, one thing I know for sure is that I never felt as good when I finished a workout then, as I do, now. Normal brain functioning is a beautiful thing!

            p.s., everyone here is really doing great! It's great encouragement for me, to see what everybody is doing!!!

              running is overrated anyway awip, you go just as far and burn just as much walking, it just takes a bit longer!

                January (new year) abbercisers!!

                I'm an abberciser!

                Good morning all! I finally got off my but and exercised. I got dropped off with the kids at school and walked back, which took 41 mins. The temperature at the minute is great, around 26 deg C, and we actually have a breeze, so I'm not as sweaty as normal! The dogs then got their walk, which is also around 45 mins, but as I have a chihuahua it has to be slower with lots of sniff breaks. It has to be said I feel great, I've done the dishes and am sitting down guilt free at a time when I'm normally just having my 3rd coffee and thinking about taking the dogs out. I'm going to break out the wii fit later to do some strength and yoga. Have a great day everyone. B:new:

                  That's right Peacenik! And actually, since these days I am walking faster than I "run," I'd say I might just as well stick with the walking!

                    How is the Wii fit and fitness? I am really intrigued by this program and would love to hear what you think about it. I would have to buy the whole system b/c we are Wii-less about my house.

                        Good morning.

                        Today is yoga class. YAY! Afterwards I'm going to put a little time in on the treadmill.

                        Beaches, I like the Wii fit. It is a little slow, so if you're in a hurry to get a work out in, that's a problem. The yoga consists of different yoga poses, not a complete yoga routine. The strength and balance exercises are good, you can do more reps as you "earn" points, and unlock new exercises. I haven't done the aerobics yet, I don't like aerobics.

                        If you know someone that has one, I'd try it out before you go buy a whole system. We got a game for the boys that has cow racing on it--what a hoot!!:H

                              Hello All,

                              It's been a little slow on the exercise side of things. I sliced my thumb open on friday, requiring stitches then I got the flu. I will start up again tomorrow. It's gosh darn cold out there though. This is when it would be good to have indoor exercise equipment of a gym to go to. Extra layers will be in order!

                                Couldn't exercise these last two nights as Mr Sausage away and no-one to look after the kids - however Thurs (today) both of them in school / nursery so was able to go on a 40 mintute run this am - feel much better for it although my hands were cold - should have worn gloves!!
