    I've just been swimming tonight - 40 lengths - very relaxing - I enjoy swimming just to switch off and let my mind wander, quite therapeutic

      DG-(Cleaning help was my gift to myself after quitting smoking!!)

      Hmmm, I like this idea. But how will I justify all the other stuff I like to spend my not smoking/not drinking money on????? I'll have to think about this.....

      Work getting in the way of work-out. I am going to do something yet today though. It is 65 degrees right now, but the damn wind is blowing!!!

        hi abbers!
        i'm back from a trip to chicago where i ate well, walked a bit, and had a fabulous time with old friends.
        i did have some champagne on sunday, so am dealing with emotional fallout from that (only a half a glass, but WHY???!!!!). anyway, i'm moving on and going to work out now to ease myself through some cravings...it's day 55 for me.

              Hi all, only just discovered this trhead...hope you don't mind if I jump in??
              Ezzmae, I saw at the beginning of the thread you did a pump class - I looove pump - it's actually sculpted my body more than any other exercise I've ever done...I try to go pretty hard & heavy with the weights and 3-4 times a week. This week not so great but will go tomorrow morning...are you in NZ?? I thought it was a Les Mills thing...

                Hi angelcakes. I am in Oz. I love pump, I do it 2 per week plus some weights in a circuit class as well. I have ended up looking quite athletic but because I am only 153cm I don't have the long limbs to make the muscles look great. I am squatting with 20kgs, I would love to go higher but I can't lift the weight over my head.

                  Ha, yes getting the bar up there can be a challenge....i can picture myself just tipping backwards some days!! I squat between 25-29kgs depending on how strong I feel - my goal is 30kgs with the steel bar (I only use the plastic light one now)
                  20kgs is huge for a wee frame.

                      Angel and Ezzmae - glad to hear you say that about pump ..... I haven't done much in the weights line since my trainer moved away. Thought I might experiment with it a bit once the days get a bit shorter and colder .... at the moment I'm really enjoying all the swimming and cycling!! Helps keep my Vit D intake up ....... feel like I need to store it up for the winter ahead!

                      Had a day off yesterday as I was feeling really tired .... went to bed at about 8pm to read my book and was out like a light in about 20 minutes I think. Slept through until about 7am. As a strategy for getting more and better sleep exercise has so much to recommend it!! Cycled home tonight and felt like I had a new motor in my legs!!

                        Hello all. Yoga again yesterday. Slow walking with dogs today. I haven't lost any weight, but have lost a couple of inches off my waist? Still not started Couch to 5k, is now 'wrong time of the month', so will have to wait a couple of days. Enjoy Today. B

                              Did pump this morning & then had a coffee with a new friend from the gym. Feeling great although I feel like a need a nap.
                              You should give it a whirl Mame, the trick is to start of really light & get the technique right and gradually build your weights...add 1kg a week or so. My metabolism is so much higher because of the lean muscle mass...I eat pretty much what I like & I'm quite greedy/hungry so this keeps me a size 12 rather than a 16-18.
