Thanks AA for getting us started! In my class we call this the Daily Warm Up. A question is on the board for students to respond to in their journals as they come in and try to get settled. Yeah right. Every day, every class I have to remind them to start writing. I am one that definately strays to the half -empty side. So thanks for the insight WIP to remind us that we can control, or decide where we want to be in our outlook and responses in life. Mary, thanks for sharing your gratitude. It means a lot.

AF Daily - Saturday Feb 7th
Evening all
Very interesting topic - I would say I was a half full person until I started drinking heavily and then I became a half empty person. Right now i've just started looking at the long term abs section and I too am trying to work on the "life plan" that Janice mentioned earlier. Trying to be half full not half empty is a good part of my plan, as we've discussed before, the day very much goes how we want to look at it - ie depending on what frame of mind we are in when we get up!
Well a recap on my Friday evening - my friend came to stay (first real evening of entertaining someone in my home, since i've been AF, - a situation where I would previously have enjoyed drinking a lot) and we had red wine, white wine and a champagne in the fridge (not to mention also my AF sparkling rose) and quite a lot of alchohol was consumed by Mr Sausage and my friend but not by me! The red they drank was 16% as well - not suprised they both seemed a bit jaded in the morning! I found the evening much easier than I expected and enjoyed my AF sparkling drink- the first 20 mins (as Mary says) was definitely the hardest (not helped by the fact that my friend and Mr Sausage started talking about wine clubs and different wines!!) but after that it was fine and I didn't miss it at all!!! Later on I felt really fresh and full of energy and they were really sleepy and not making a lot of sense and I was so glad I hadn't drunk. I can honestly say I didn't really miss it at all and I enjoyed the meal and the conversation and them being a bit tipsy, conversation flowed etc and I felt great and really alert all the way through!! I know I will want it to be like this again.
This has made me much more positive about my recovery - have definitely completed the day with my glass half full !
See you later, and some of you on long term abs
take care
Sausage xx

whew! late or what?
well done Gia, Sausage and all facing social challenges. Dx and I went to a small party tonight and it was pretty fun, I drank coffee and played foozball! I think the last time I touched a foozball table I was so drunk I was using it to hold me up. ahahahhahaa. ok, that's not really funny. But I must say it's a pretty fun game sober.
AAthlete, maintaining a positive outlook is indeed so important and rewarding. I used to be mired in the dreadful clutches of depression for much of my life. Now I'm so positive I probably make people ill certainly can't complain. I'm also enjoying the meditation links you posted in other sections WIP....great stuff.
be well if any of you are still awake!nosce te ipsum
