Cinders, DG- Carb cravings, I eat about 5 times a day, just small meals and have at least 3 to 4 proteins. + veggies. I find this keeps me satisfied plus has helped me to lose weight. I also drink a TON of herbal tea and water.

Hey- 3 weeks and no drink for me. It is great not to have a hangover and have a CLEAR mind. I can enjoy this -22C weather...can't wait for Mexico on Saturday!

    Love,
    Narilly

Oh, Mary- I too have the hardest time saying that I am an alcoholic. Maybe I haven't totally accepted that yet.

AFM--I have been thinking about your thoughts on sober dating. At first I thought, no way, dating and dancing would be impossible to do sober. I don't think I have ever been on a date without alcohol. Maybe in junior high. I DO remember one date (well some of it) where I woke up beside my date in his pickup--I had puked all over myself. Gross! Sometimes I can't believe I'm still alive! Anyway, I have always been attracted to the "bad boys". Hell, I was married to an alcoholic for 4 years--I knew he had a problem, but I thought I could "fix" it once we were married. :H So, I marry another party animal!!! :H
I hope I never have to find out, but I think maybe I could go on a sober date now--but no dancing!!:H

With all this gardening talk I wish this weather would straighten out. I did find some wire so I can build a bunch of "tomato cages". Yippee!!

        Hello Everyone,

Busy weekend and felt a bit crusty. I think it was hormonal.

Glad to see everyone doing well.

Det, Mohun both had good trips.

Mary, AFM, Narilly, Hula - all of you sound focused and determined.

I hope today's sunshine resets my crusty mood. Part of it was brought on my love/hate relationship with volunteer work. I swing back and forth on liking the group and not liking it at all.

Have a great AF Monday evening!

                Evening all-

Busy day at work, no real news, but I've just had a quick read through the thread and thought i'd better post as it's been a few days. Still AF, no desire to drink at all tonight. It was Mr Sausage's birthday at the weekend and he had a few drinks, (he said he'd give up for Lent - but he allows himself drinks at the weekend !?!?! - yes right !!!! However you'll be pleased to know I remained AF without any difficulty. Some days are definitely easier than others.

Glad to see everyone here, you all sound positive, that's great - will check back in tomorrow

                Take care all

                  Happy late check-in ABworld!!!!

back from our super fun mini-vacation to Tahoe, and now I'm coming down with a sore throat. arg! must have been all the cig smoke in the casino...that icky smoke is the only thing that messed up an otherwise picture perfectly fun night on the town.

Hula, sadly I've found that even though I eat tons of garlic the mozzies still like to feed on me. Once up on Palehua on Oahu I passed out in my tent leaving the fly open (drinking days) and woke up unbelievably covered in mosquito bites. I counted more than 30 bites on the SOLE of just one of my bare feet. needless to say I was pretty miserably hungover and itchy that next day. hmmmmm maybe they were alchy mosquitos and my blood system was 'happy hour'. didn't think of that til just now.

Narilly how the conversational Spanish coming along? hope your trip is super fun, sober and you get thoroughly defrosted!

off to take some cold meds.

be well everyone and all to come!
