    Hey DG

Thanks for the advice at the end of the 30 days I am planning on attempting to mod, being young I don't want to give up completely something which I might be able to enjoy in moderation in my life, with a little more maturity and experience under my belt than I had when I started at 13.

      Hi.

Congrats on your success TG. Keep it up!

Here is one more pic with our other dog. He is a 14 1/2 year old black lab (120 lbs.). He is getting a little old for hiking which is why we got the pup.

DG- congrats on the 10 months, Mo- LOVE the dogggies!

Hey guys- I did NOT drink in Mexico and I was there for a whole week! It was very difficult. Those margaritas by the pool were soooo inticing. I almost had one, I was so close and I still can't believe i didn't. Wow. It was hard not to drink everyday. Hard to imagine a holiday, away from home with all this time and NO drinking- I found it very difficult at times. I mean it is just something you do to pass the time- drink and watch people. I saw so many people though have way too much and I thought "I do not want to be like that"
Deter- I am baking too. Smells excellente.

        Love,
        Narilly

          Thank you Marshy!

TG - you would probably always wonder if you didn't at least try mods. Same suggestion - just have a plan. I'm sure you are already seeking input from the successful modders here for that. You will figure out if you can successfully moderate, or if you either can't or it's too much trouble. (i.e. easier just to always know that the answer to AL is "no" and move on) No matter what happens I'm sure you are learning a lot in this 30 day AF time that will be useful to you in the future!

Mo that is a great pic of both doggies. So now I see it's not a headless toy afterall, but a tennis shoe that appears to have been in "No"'s mouth?????

Narilly, congrats on your AF vacation success!! :yougo::yougo::yougo: That deserves 50% of my smilie rations. (OK, 66%) I can't even imagine sitting by a pool in Mexico and NOT having a margurita. You were brave to go and demonstrated AWESOME resolve. Welcome back!!

Just remembered my first ever drinking dream from Thursday or Friday night. Seems I was at some social event and found myself with a draft beer in one hand and a can of beer in the other! I really can't remember if I drank both, one or none. But I do recall thinking/dreaming "Why bother? Who needs the drama?" :H

              Good day!

The little one and I did some gardening today. It was a lot of fun. We also bought one of those little green house kits and planted a bunch of herbs and some sun flowers. I hope they grow!

Other than that - all is OK in AFM's world. Have a good one everyone!

                Hello!

Mohun - I want to reach out and play with 'No'. He's a gem. I also love the eldster and how they sit together. Big Brother, Baby Brother.

DG & WIP - Congrats! You deserve big hugs.

LVT and anyone else who has done the saliva hormone test - did your doctor approve it? What have the results been? I have my annual physical next week and would like to discuss with my Dr.

Narilly - you're awesome! A week in Mexico and you show us how to REALLY enjoy it and remember it.

DG - yes our agility trial was last weekend and we came home with 3 qualifying runs! I made handler errors in 2 runs and my boy worried in two runs. I can say our last run on Sunday was a qualifier so we were able to pull it together and I ran the course correctly and he worked hard to focus and not worry. When he worries he won't leave the start line. He has a GREAT start-line stay, but he froze. It was kinda cute but my heart goes out to him when he worries. But it was only our 2nd big trial and trial experience will build confidence.

Mame - glad to hear the kittens are growing and ready for adoption. I'd love to foster some day. Right now I can't take on another thing.

Cindi - we have a large redbud in our front yard. Each year I take a picture of it because I'm afraid it's going to split apart. We strapped together a major branch so it won't split. That seems to have really helped. But redbuds don't live forever. I too am so happy for some normal weather in the southeast.

And to everyone else, love reading your posts. This is an interesting group.

I'm headed to bed to read. I have a big week ahead of me and need to strike a balance and be steady.

speedster I'm glad you mentioned LVT's hormone test because I meant to comment and forgot. LVT, I had a really hard time mustering up that first of the morning spit LOL! It seemed to get easier as the day wore on.

speedster I'm working with a doctor who is both a regular MD with a family practice, but she has also gotten into the "anti-aging" field which has also led her to a bit of alternative medicine. I really like that combination - she can handle standard stuff in standard ways, but definitely has different ideas for a lot of stuff. She absolutely believes in keeping the hormones in balance. I'm so happy with the results - I'm like a new person inside and out compared to a year ago.

I would definitely recommend talking to your doctor about it. Warning though - the majority of traditional MD's have a lot of misinformation. Congratulations on the trial! Just having watched agility a few times I can imagine that it takes a lot of practice to just think your way through it "on the fly" in a pressure situation. For you AND the dog! Good going!

LVT let us know how the results come out when you get them.

Narilly, super job on keeping those pool drinks at bay! besides being toxic to us folks, a marguerita has something like 3453,23523,352,35,23, calories as I recall. barf!

Speedster, the dog handling thing sounds very cool although I know zip about it. I have been present at some police K9 championships though and I must say they are fascinating. those dogs are amazing athletes. I get so excited I want to yell encouragement to the dogs but I don't because I'm scared to distract them.

early morning for me tomorrow so I may be checking in late yet again (last 5 days have been a whirlwind).

Thanks Cindi! I think WIP knows we are thinking of her.

Deter, I've not been to a police K9 championship but a lot of those dogs are similar (or much sharper) in temperament to dogs that do Schutzhund sport (tracking, obedience, protection) which is what Mr. Doggy does with our dog Ferguson. (Kimba is also titled to Schutzhund 1 but I have no idea how - that was a gift!) I would imagine the dogs would not be distracted by the crowd yelling - the good ones are generally very focused. However if it's anything like Schutzhund trials, people usually hold applause until the routines are finished. The dogs who work like that are pretty amazing. Agility dogs have to stay very focused as well, I'm sure. I love watching that stuff!

                            On to the Monday thread!
