i got up early with my daughter so she could do the treadmill this am, so proud of her!
Thanks Peace! About 8 years ago I ran a 10k in just over an hour, but now I will just be happy to run it all without stopping no matter how long it takes!

4 years ago I ran, walked, jogged the Dublin City Marathon! 26 miles! I often ask myself, was that really me? I couldn't run a mile today all because of Al. All I seem to run up nowadays are bills! 4 days AF now and thinking of starting to run again. Anything's possible! I think I'l just go out for a walk later today to clear the cobwebs (It's actually stopped raining!) and plan ahead....:thanks: to everyone here I can plan...:l..Juno

juno, i find exercise to be a major help in stoppping me from picking up again. i feel accomplished and i don't want to ruin the work i did by drinking. i also like to walk during the times i crave a drink (or 8), as it helps me either think or not think about what i'm really feeling.

          hang around!!!

I like that idea, walking when you crave a drink (or 8!). I think I will try that.
Today I did about 25 min of cardio and then did legs (weights). Gotta make sure I get my 2-3X a week of weights in.
Tomorrow it is step class (early) and then squash after supper- with my hubby.
            Feelin' Good!
            Yes, hang around Juno.
Cool- Peace- getting your daughter on the treadmill. That is great.

Hav just tried the cycle route to work - 30 minutes door to door, though I've found it's a pretty steady downward slope to get here - it will be interesting to se how it feels to get home as it was obviously pretty easy going to get here! If all goes well, I'll hopefully start cycling to and from work 3 times a week - probably a round trip of about 30km, so should help the fitness level.

Have had to wait until the rain passed but am now all set to head home, so happy excercising all!

Arial, that sounds very speedy by my calculations! You're doing about 18mph - is that right?

Did 3k in 25.2 mins, talked myself into running for 10 min intervals. Solved the ipod issue with an ipod shuffle, much more practical for me. Am going to do a Yoga DVD to stop myself seizing up like the Tin Man. Bx

I like this thread too...think I'll hop on as I am trying to conquer the weight issues too and working out is definitely key for me with that. When workout, don't want to blow it with bad food choices. And the AL calories may have played more of a factor than I would admit. I think the wine goes around the middle :eeks:

Rainy yesterday, but biked 20 miles on Saturday, 15 on Friday, and 15 on Thursday. I love wheeling along seeing the sights. Need to figure out some other activities when weather bad. There is a workout gym I can use at work...but no classes or trainers....maybe I will see if they have an eliptical and what weight machines today. Yep, that's my goal today - I will work til lunch then go check out that gym. I will report back on my resolve. Thanks for the thread. Maybe this can help lift my mood.

                          Gym 'n' swim.

They're building a sauna & steam room right at the edge of the pool at my gym. So I'll soon be able to sauna-steam-swim-sauna-steam-swim for HOURS until I'm a wrinkled prune. Can't wait!

Hidden Goal - any luck with the work gym?
